Chapter 16 : Out On The Town (Third Person POV)
"Say~ here's where you belong."
"Sa-ay~ here's where you belong!"
"Say here's. Where. You. Be-loong~!"
"Come sit with us tomorrow! It'll be fetch!" Aphmau sang, concluding the song.
Kawaii~Chan clapped politely as Zane rolled his eyes, unamused.
"Can you guys not? We're suppose to be getting ready for this dinner event."
"You're no fun!" Aphmau pouted.
"Yeah, lighten up Zane. We've got a few hours." Kawaii~Chan smiled as she shuffled through a few dresses she owned.
"Which one...?" She mumbled.
"See? Kawaii~Chan has the right idea!" Aphmau placed her hands on her hips sassily, bumping her hip out to the right.
"But! You know what- Augh! Nevermind." Zane muttered angrily as he fiddled with the suits in his arms.
Suddenly...
Someone burst through the door.
"You guys!" Garroth boomed, catching everyone's attention.
"Garroth, c'mon! That's the fifth door so far!" Zane boomed as well, throwing his hands up into the air.
"D'oh, nevermind about that! I was looking up the restaurant that we're headed off to tonight. And guess what!?"
"What?" They asked, staring at him in anticipation.
"They have... fortune cookies! For free!" Garroth cheered.
"With your meal, of course!" He added.
Nana gasped! "Oooo~! I can't wait! I love fortune cookies!"
I am the only one who likes to eat the cookie portion of the fortune cookie in my family.
Nobody else likes them but me, which I don't really mind. Lol
Zane gave her a look. Not in a menacing way, but as if he was reminding her of something telepathically.
"U-Uh, I mean..." She began. "Kawaii~Chan loves fortune cookies! She wonders which one she'll get."
"Me too! I hope that I get a funny one! I wanna frame it and keep it close to heart." Aphmau chimed in.
"Yup! Anyways, I'm going to get ready. Later~!" Garroth left the room, leaving the trio behind.
"I suggest we do the same." Zane said, eyeing the two as he headed upstairs to plan out his outfit.
...
"C'mon everyone! It's time to head out!" Zianna called, standing next to Garte and the two brothers.
Zianna wore a long, "lue lagoon" dress that tied around at the neck.
Garte wore a simple jet black tux with a bold luminous red tie so it pops out from the cool white dress shirt underneath.
Garroth wore a "midnight express" blue suit with a titanium white tie to match.
Zane didn't want to wear jet black, like he knew his father would.
Instead, he wore an umbra grey suit with a quill grey tie. He held a lily white rose behind his back to give to Nana when she finally got down.
Footsteps followed his thought as he perked his head up.
Aphmau was first, wearing a mauve sundress and black wedge heels with a criss-cross pattern on them.
She walked over to Garroth and stood beside him. Aphmau had agreed ahead of time to be Garroth's "Not-Alone Buddy".
Travis will always be the original one, don't worry.
But Zane felt his cheeks grow warm when he saw her.
Nana.
Nana wore a traffic white knee-length dress. The dress itself was shoulder-less as well as strapless, but the sleeves were made of a knit lace that covered the entire dress in a layer of it.
She wore similar shoes to Aphmau, but the criss-cross patters was replaced with two straps across with a flower on each one.
She walked towards Zane as they interlocked arms.
They smiled at each other as they headed out with everyone else.
They were behind everyone else, so they didn't really notice anything that happened.
Zane handed her the white rose and watched as her face lit up! She kissed him on the cheek and placed the flower where her bow would usually go.
Once they arrived, they claimed their reservation and took a seat.
Each pair sat with each other on the conveniently 6-person table.
As they talked about various topics and they ordered their food, everyone was enjoying their time.
After a while, everyone received a fortune cookie.
"I'm so excited!" Garroth cheered as he tore through his cookie, causing it to crack.
"Aw man! My cookie!" He whined as everyone had a laugh at it. Even Garroth himself!
"How about we all share everyone's cookie fortune?" Zianna proposed.
Everyone agreed to the idea. Mainly due to curiosity.
#Relatable xD
Garroth went first.
"Your greatest danger..!" He began dramatically.
Everyone looked at him, anticipating his answer.
"...is your stupidity."
Garroth looked almost confused. Everyone laughed except him and Garte.
"What?" They both asked, confused.
Everyone just laughed harder.
Garroth left and came back with two more cookies.
The first one read "You will find your true love."
He was ecstatic to see the message.
It's true love, baby!
But...
The other one read "Ignore previous cookie."
Garroth and Garte were devastated while everyone laughed their asses off.
Literally.
Once they calmed down, Zianna went ahead and read hers.
"Your shining personality is what others treasure most."
Garte's read :
"When you squeeze an orange, orange juice comes out - because that's what's inside."
Nana's read :
"A smile is your passport into the hearts of others."
Zane opened his, and then he froze.
Odd.
"What's wrong?" Nana asked, tapping his shoulder.
"I-It's nothing. I just remember telling myself this for a while during my school years.." He murmured.
"What wrong, Zuzu. Aren't you going to read your fortune?" Zianna asked, worry lacing her voice.
Zane stayed silent, almost as if she didn't say anything.
"Zane..?" She asked again.
"Oh, what? Sorry, I was just lost in thought."
He looked off to the side, a little worried.
"Go ahead dear. Nobody's going to judge." Zianna beamed at him, trying to cheer him up. Garte gave Zane a bored look, coking an eyebrow. As if he was saying "Are you just gonna sit there or say something?"
Y'know, when that one person be waiting for you to say something? And then they have the nerve to say "Hurry up and say something! God." or something like that.
Yeah, that look.
He gulped as he began to read his aloud.
"Never give up. You're not a failure if you don't give up."
Zane placed it down on the table as everyone was quiet.
"Hmm..." Garte hummed. "Aphmau."
She jumped, breaking out of her train of thought.
"How about you read your fortune, huh?"
"Oh, uh...alright."
As the cookie cracked, everyone waited for her to say her fortune.
"There is no greater pleasure than seeing your loved ones prosper...." She trailed off.
"E-Excuse me." Aphmau stood up and rushed into the direction of the bathroom.
Nana soon followed suit.
"Aphmau?" She called, but received no answer.
As she searched for her friend, she bumped into someone.
"Oof!"
"Augh, o-oh! Kawaii~Chan is so sorry! She didn't mean to bump intoo...."
Nana looked up to see..
The one and only...
Damien!?
