Just a scratch
Max's POV
I held my side, the blood from the wound was staining my clothes and hand.
"Max!" Hiei hugged me holding me close and kissed my forehead.
"Hiei I need to see Botan" My legs went out from underneath me and that's when he looked at his hand, now covered in blood.
"I've got you Max just hold on" He lifted me bridal style carefully and I rested my head agents his chest.
"Told you I could do it" I smiled up at him.
Botan was sitting with Keiko talking about what seemed to be my fight. When she saw me she ran over worried.
"Max dear lord what happened?!" Hiei sat me down and looked at all the blood that was now on him.
"It's just a scratch, can you stitch it up" I winced as she pulled my shirt up a little, a deep bleeding gash appeared on my side.
"Max..." Hiei looked at it then back up at me. "it isn't just a scratch"
"I noticed" It didn't hurt as bad it looked honestly.
I could feel Botan starting to sew it up when Leo walked over, looking like he hadn't even been scratched.
"Here when you've done put this on there, relives the pain" Botan took it and started stitching again. "Good fight Maxine"
"Yah you to Leo" I looked at him then at Hiei who looked like he was caught between a growl and a cringing look.
"Hiei this is my old friend Leo Chief. Leo this is my boyfriend Hiei" I introduced them as Leo towered over Hiei by more than a foot.
"Glad she caught someone good" Leo held out his hand and Hiei looked at me before also offering his hand.
"Thank you"
"All done and your healing quickly with this sappy stuff" Botan sounded surprised as she wrapped my stomach with gauze.
"How about I treat you all to dinner" Leo started, looking at me.
I jumped into the conversation quickly and said that we would all love to. Hiei stared at me for a couple seconds before nodding. When Leo had excused himself to talk to his sponsor I fallowed Hiei back to the hotel.
"He likes you" his voice was filled with jealousy and I tried not to grin.
"Well he doesn't have a chance" I reached for his hand. "Bec-"
"You don't know that Max" the tone changed to anger and I didn't know whether to back off or to try and make it better.
"I see him as a brother Hiei" I took my hand back and sighed internally.
"You could have died Max"
Jealousy, anger and now a mix of sadness. Why did I start dating someone who was more mood changing then a girl on picture day?
"But so could you"
We didn't talk the rest of the way to the hotel, or on our way to dinner. I sat by Leo and Hiei and I could feel the tension between the both of them.
"So Maxine, still going to school in Japan or are you thinking of coming back to Paris to study?" I tried to ignore the cut-able tension and smiled.
"I'm going to stay in Japan as long as my scholarship will let me" I laughed a little. "The people sponsoring me were not happy that I was going on this 'two-week vacation' but I was able to convince a teacher to tell them it was for a good cause"
"Yah that's Maxine for you! Master of convincing people at her own will" Leo chuckled and smiled big.
Dinner continued with small talk and laughing. On our way back to our hotel I walked with Kurama.
"I thought you wouldn't talk to me" He smiled warmly down at me.
"Nah, you're still a good guy Kurama. One of my closest friends" I watched Hiei from a distance.
"He will calm down eventually" Kurama looked at Hiei as well. "He has never been in a relationship before so these are new feeling for him"
"Thanks, I will remember that"
