Days later

Hiei's POV
I waited as Yusuke defeated his match and did same to the rest. I looked at the elder Toguro with burning eyes.
"Hiei" Botan looked at me before handing me a small cloth.
"What is this?" I raised an eyebrow taking it from her.
"I had it split in two for you" She smiled big and did a thumbs up. "Get ready for her to be back"
I carefully opened the cloth to see the gem that I had shed was smalled, split into two spheres now. I felt a smile hit my face as I put one over my head, letting it sit next to the larger one from my mother. The other half would be given to Max once we get her back.

Both announcers introduced the final match, the older Toguro looking angrier than normal after Yusuke had kicked the younger Toguro out of existence.
"How is our little Max?" He got onto the stage, his arms wide, a grin plastered on his ugly face.
"How's your brother?" He growled and I smirked on the inside.
"Begin!" Both the fish girl and the cat girl announced finally.
The elder Toguro grinned again looking up at the sponsors booth.
"We killed them all, there is no wish" his fingers longed toward twords me.
"Damn you!" I yelled angrily, unveiling my sword, blocking his disgusting finger.

Doctor's POV

I looked at the body, and all I could feel was life. She was pronounced dead days ago but her color was still in her cheeks.  After 2 heart arteries and a stab wound into the heart, she should look dead. Pale and beginning to decay. But this was not the case.
"How is she looking" a nurse, who I believe is named Carter, looked at Max as well.
How could we not look, she was dead but very much alive.
"Better than yesterday"
"Hey doc" Leo knocked on the door. "We have a problem"
"What did you do now?" The nurse, who I swear is named Carter, looked up at Leo with a popped hip and a sassy tone.
"The guys who were running this are dead. There is no wish even if he wins or not" he patted the nurses head in amusement. "But I have an idea to bring her back"
"Which is?" I looked up at him. "Wait..."
"The core that runs my heart. Is there another?" He tapped his chest. "When planted into the heart it seals the wounds and restarts everything."
"She will lose what magic she has though" I looked at the body. "Unless her soul can co-opt with the energy"
"I chose the be in this metal body after all that happened" his eyes shot to mine. "My heart core is worn and used to magic"
"A transplant would be possible but both of your lives would be in jeopardy" I looked up at him. "Would you risk your life for this girl to just for her to run to another guy"
"Come on dad. We both know that she needs him way more than she needs me"
"I'll grab the core from the box. Have Carter prep you both for surgery" I grabbed my lab coat, wishing my son would make me stop.
"Hey dad" Leo's voice boomed with laughter.
"Yes?" I turned around with a smile.
"Her names Veronica"

Present
Hiei's POV
My blood dropped with blood as I tried to catch my breath.
"Your so amusing" Toguro giggled sickly holding both of his arm in front of him.
"Time for a different strategy" I unwrapped my arm.
Kurama gasped and ran to the stage.
"Hiei don't use the dragon it could kill you"
"Hey Kurama" I turned to him for a brief time. "When you fall in love you will do anything to save them"
The black dragon swirled around us, biting and chewing my magic energy. Toguro watched the dragon as it swirled.
"What is this?" He laughed. "A magic trick?"
"Dragon!" My shirt tore as more magic flowed. "Of the darkness flame!"
The dragon picked the Toguro brother into his mouth and off the stage, and out of the arena. As the announcement girls counted loudly, over the bursting and screaming of the dragon eating the brother alive, traveling through outer islands.
"The winner is..." they both ran to the stage.
"Team Urameshi!"
