Piper
"It sucks when you're ignored by the one person who's attention means the world to you."
I stumbled through the door of our enormous mansion, giggling.
My hair was in disarray, my clothes with strange substances on them, and I smelled horrible.
I didn't register it though. I was having the time of my life.
I swayed back and forth, barely managing to put one foot in front of the other.
It was probably 3 in the morning, but I didn't care.
I crashed into a lamp and laughed.
"Soorryy handsome."
Finally, after knocking two paintings off the walls, tripping over my own feet, and staggering up the stairs, I reached my bedroom and collapsed on my bed.
I was out like a light.
-------------
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
A loud noise went off right next to my ear.
I groaned, and shut it off.
I tried to sleep more, but my pounding headache wouldn't let me. I felt like crap.
"Urgh..."
I was laying on my bed with my clothes from last night, and a spotty memory.
I had no clue what I had done last night, except that I got completely wasted.
Almost falling off my bed, I went downstairs into our giant kitchen to get some water and Advil.
No one was in there as usual. A plate of bacon and eggs sat on the counter, waiting for me.
Surprisingly, there was a note next to it.
Piper,
I heard you come in last night. You know you are not to be out who knows where late at night. We'll talk about it when I get home. You're getting grounded.
No signature.
Snorting, I tore up the note. As if he cared.
"Yeah, 'grounded'."
I got two pills and gulped them down.
Then I checked the time.
7:56. Crap. School started in 4 minutes and I wasn't ready.
Oh well, he didn't care, and I certainly didn't care. I could show up late.
Taking my time, I took a shower and blowdried my hair.
That felt better.
Then I put on some fresh clothes, skinny jeans, boots, a white top and my leather jacket.
"Guess I'll go now."
It was 9:02 when I checked the clock in my Fiat.
I pushed my foot on the gas and sped away.
-----------
When I finally stepped into the school, the bell rang, signaling 3rd period. The bell didn't help my headache. It hurt less than it did, but was still there.
The class I had was Biology, which certainly wasn't my favorite class, but not the one I hated the most either.
As I slowly walked to the classroom, a boy from behind crashed into me, causing books to fly into the air and fall to the ground.
"Watch it!" I snapped.
"Sorry." The stranger said shortly.
As I glared down at the guy, I noticed he was pretty cute.
Cropped blonde hair, tan skin, and a little scar on his lip.
He stood up, having collected his stuff, and looked down on me.
Woah. His eyes were pretty. Electric blue, framed by glasses.
"Sorry again," he said, then started walking away.
Mystifyed, I walked into my class, taught by Mr. Wernoy.
I slumped into a desk by the window at the back and zoned out the whole period thinking about mystery boy.
Next period was American History, taught by Mrs. Martinez.
"Pop quiz!" She said with her Spanish accent, "Get out a pencil and clear your desk."
I groaned. I wasn't the best at history and really didn't listen in this class.
A paper was passed back to me.
The title said "The Civil War."
Ugh. Well at least I knew a little about the war.
25 questions later, I bombed the test. The questions were way too hard.
Looking around, I saw that I was one of the first people to finish.
Other kids were sleeping, secretly texting, and throwing paper airplanes.
Wait a second.
In the middle of one of the rows was Glasses, the guy that had bumped into me earlier.
He was still stooped over his test, eyes narrowed, concentrating.
I wondered what kind of grades he made.
I looked away, determined not to be caught staring. Then I sneaked another glance in.
I noticed he looked exhausted with bags under his eyes.
Did he not get any sleep?
Hm, not my problem.
-------
The bell rang, and I handed in my quiz. I got a F, a D if I was lucky.
Then I headed to lunch to get some crappy food.
Lunch today was Taco Tuesday, which sucked.
They gave you a soft taco, with three pieces of meat, a sprinkle of cheese, and a chunk of lettuce and tomato.
I gagged when it touched my mouth.
To make it slightly less horrible, I drowned it in sour cream.
Then I saw someone and smirked.
I got up and walked to another table, ignoring the stares.
Glasses was trying not to gag while he stuffed his taco into his mouth.
"Hey there."
"Hi?"
"You're the guy that bumped into me earlier."
"Oh... I said I was sorry."
"I know. Can't a person sit with another person to enjoy their food?"
"If you could call this enjoyable."
I cracked a smile.
"My name's Piper."
"Jason."
That was a pretty cute name.
Being a kind of self proclaimed loner, it was a shock that I was sitting with someone, as if anyone would want to sit down with me anyways.
Jason seemed like a pretty nice guy, although a little reserved.
Maybe I could give him my number.
Finishing off lunch, I slipped him a piece of paper.
"Text me sometime. You're not bad to talk to."
-------
The rest of the day crawled by slowly, and then finally, school was out.
I got in my car, and started driving home, dreading the talk to come.
AN
These chapters seem to get longer and longer lol.
I hoped I wrote a drunk person accurately, this was my first time trying to write one.
You can tell me if you want if I was accurate or not.
Also I think I described a hangover correctly, but who knows. You can comment about that too if you'd like.
I know Piper isn't exactly canon, but I just wanted to write her like this. Hope you don't mind.
Thanks for reading!
Yours in demigodishness, and all that. Peace out!
