Chapter 9
Chapter 9- feelings, yuck
After I took a shower in my apartment, I got dressed and sat on my bed. I looked at my clothes from yesterday and noticed that I had accidently grabbed Creg’s shirt. I groaned. There was a knock on the door. I grabbed his shirt, put on a poker face, and opened the door.
“Well, hello there,” Creg said leaning against the doorway.
“Miss me already?” I said smirking.
“Ha ha, I did not miss your attitude missy. I came for my shirt,” he said flicking my nose. I scrunched up my face.
“Don’t do that,” I groaned.
“What, this?” he said flicking my nose again. I rolled my eyes.
“Are you going to give me my shirt or do you want me to come in?” he said smirking. I slammed the shirt on his chest.
“There you go,” I said smiling sweetly and slammed the door on his face. I leaned against the door and slid down. Confusing feeling is confusing. Suddenly, I was frustrated that I was feeling more confused than I had ever in my life.
“Women,” I heard Creg mutter from the other side of the door and walk off. That brought a giggle to my lips. Ok, going through major mood swings. Not good. I need some Nutella to calm down.

Have I mentioned before that I hate Mondays? I rubbed my eyes as I tried to pay attention in History class.
“I’m guessing Creg is way too intelligent for this lecture?” the teacher snapped.
“I said I wanted a taco, not a burrito,” mumbled Creg with his head on the desk. The class snickered while the teacher rolled her eyes. Even I had to smile.
“CREG!” the teacher yelled.
“Yes sir!” Creg jumped up. People couldn’t contain their laughter by now. Creg looked confused for a second then sat back down with a sly smile.
“Detention after school,” the teacher said calmly.
“Sorry miss, I was a bit busy this weekend,” he said smirking. His “friend” Alan whistled and slapped him in the back. It took all my will power not to blush. I started playing with my hands like I always did when I was uncomfortable. After the class went back to normal, Creg stole a glance at me and mouthed ‘let’s talk later’. I raised an eyebrow. When did Creg ever want to “talk” with any of the girls he got in bed? The thought made me excited and I mentally slapped myself. Congratulations Creg, you gave me another reason to hate you.

“Meet me in the closet?” he whispered in my ear during lunch and walked away. I knew he was talking about the closet in which I had helped him bandage his arm. People were too busy talking to notice, but Sorrow saw and raised an eyebrow. I blushed.
“Bathroom,” I said and walked off.
“I think we need a better secret meeting place,” I said as I was squished in the closet with Creg. He chuckled.
“I agree, well I asked you to come, because I wanted to um tell you something,” he said with a nervous tone.
“Ok, what’s wrong, you’re almost always cocky and confident, what got your knickers in a twist?” Creg snorted at my choice of words.
“You know what, I’m just going to get out and say this. I’m confused as fuck. I thought I was feeling strong emotions for you, because you, Kate, were a challenge. Basically, you were the only girl who wasn’t flaunting yourself at me, and I wanted you. However, after Saturday night, I thought I would be over you, but I wasn’t. Erm, what I’m trying to say is, you’re different, and I like that. There it’s out, all cheesy and shit, but it’s there,” Creg said nervously messing with his hair.
You fell in love with a lie. My real name is not even Kate. Of course I couldn’t say that. However, I willed myself to clear my thoughts and think only of the mission. This is the point where we’ve all been waiting for, right? I won’t screw this up. I smiled a small smile.
“I didn’t think you were capable of emotion, jerk, but I, um, really like you a lot as well,” I said smiling. Creg shrugged.
“Good enough for me,” he said and I chuckled right before his lips met mine. Kissing him, bickering with him, being with him always feels amazing. I couldn’t help feeling guilty knowing I was going to hurt him, which was stupid because he deserved punishment. He was definitely not a good person. I also felt guilty for my feelings. Those, however, I could not change.
*********
I opened my door to find Alec standing in front of me.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I heard the news!” he cheered and walked in.
“News?” I asked confused sitting next to him in my living room.
“You got Creg to admit he loovvessss you,” he said smiling. I blushed.
“He didn’t say he loved me, he said he had feelings for me,” I said.
“Eh, close enough! I told you, you could do this,” Alec said smiling.
“Yeah, everything’s for justice,” I said smiling a sad smile.
“I ship you two,” Alec said.
“You what?”
“…Nothing,” he said and laughed nervously. I raised an eyebrow.
“You’re an interesting person, Alec.” Alec laughed and gave me a huge smile.
“You’re not exactly a piece of cake either, Emine,” he said.
“Is that a good thing?” I asked tilting my head.
“Pfft, of course,” he said.
“Were you able to contact Lola?” I asked. His smile turned into a frown, and I felt guilty.
“I’m getting there,” he said smiling a sad smile.
“Everything will work out, trust me!” I said and hugged him.
“Thanks Emine, you know you kind of remind me of my sister Lola,” he said petting my hair.
“I don’t like people petting my hair,” I pouted.
“Oh, well do you like people tickling you?” he asked smirking.
“That question was so irrelevant why would you—don’t you dare,” I said my eyes getting big at the realization of his evil plan.
“Muahahahah!” he yelled attacking my stomach. I squealed and tried to get away without punching him. Plus, he was strong, and an agent. He anticipated all my escape plans.
“Alex—just---stop---before---I----hit----,” I gasped for air between giggles.
“I can come back later?” I heard someone say. Alec and I froze.
“How’d you get in?” I asked Creg who was standing in front of us.
“Door was unlocked, I knocked but decided to come in,” he said shrugging.
“Awkward,” Alex sang.
“Alex, you’re a fucktard,” I groaned. What if Creg misunderstood?
“You and your vocabulary,” Alex said rolling his eyes. He suddenly jumped up.
“Well, I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone,” he said walking out.
“Now I’m even more confused than ever,” Creg said.
“Oh, he’s actually my… cousin. He’s the one that convinced me to move here,” I said smiling. More lies. I felt like the lies were suffocating me.
“Oh, I see,” he said and smiled at me. I loved his genuine smile.
“So you wanted to talk to me?” I asked giving him one of my best apologetic smiles.
“I wanted to um, I wanted to ask you out,” he said mumbling the last part. I could feel a smirk forming on my face.
“You wanted to what?” I asked innocently.
“Ok, now you’re just teasing me. I’m the one that’s supposed to do that!” he said. I laughed.
“I would love to go out with you, Creg,” I said smiling seriously. Creg breathed out the air he was holding.
“You know, I can do many things, that most people would be frightened of, that won’t scare me, but this- this is frightening,” he admitted. I laughed.
“I know exactly what you mean,” I said. It was scary how much we had in common considering we were opposites. It was also scary how I was really excited to go on this date. I told myself I hated him for making me feel like this. Did I truly?
Creg gave me another one of those rare amazing smiles and put his hand on my cheek.
“Well, I can’t wait for our date then,” he said. I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him.
