Chapter Two
After killing the rest of them, I head back in and report to Finland. He thinks. Just as he opens his mouth, though, something moves on the monitors. A tall country, wearing a fluffy hat with flaps on the side is looking at the bodies outside. "Shoot-I forgot to clean up!" I cry. Rushing out the back entrance, I pull off my mask and pretend to be lost in the woods, calling "Hello? Is anyone there?". The man whips around. I immediately realize my mistake; I am covered in blood. He yells "Did you do this?!" I freeze, lies flying through my head. I quickly blurt "No, I was attacked by the same...man...that attacked these people..." He stares at me, disbelief etched into his face. I pretend to be scared. "I-it's true..." I'm laughing in my head as he bends down and hugs me. "Do you want me to take you back to town?" "Y-yes..." I tremble. I'm actually trying to not laugh, but then he doesn't know that, does he?
He walks me to town and then offers to take me home. I tell him my address, crushing the tracker on the back of my neck as we speak. When I get home, Belgium runs up to me and yells, "SWITZ! You're okay!" I laugh and say, "Well, this man saved me." Belgium runs up to the man and hugs his knees. "Thank you for savin' my sissy!" He laughs and says, "And you are?" "Belgium an' this is my sissy, Switz-Switza-" I laugh and say "Switzerland." "Well, Switzerland, I'm Russia. I guess I'll see you around." "Oh, yeah. See you!" As he leaves, I lead Belgium back into the house. Right now, all I want is to spend time with my family...I've earned it.
~Finland's POV~
I watch as the man turns on her. She acts scared, probably saying that she was attacked too. She pulls off "Helpless Maiden" quite well, she's definitely cute enough. I rub my eyes, my face slowly getting hotter. Why am I thinking that?! Calming down, I watch her tracker icon as far as European Street, then it fizzes and disappears. What? Typing furiously, I try to pull her icon back up, but it responds with "Tracker Not Found. Please Try Again Later." Hm. That's strange...
~???'s POV~
I check my phone. I've hacked into their base computer system, and I am watching Switzerland's tracker, as well as her, from an alley on the side of European Street. I study her. She doesn't look the type to kill my soldiers, but looks can be deceiving, and I saw what she did to my troops. I look back at my phone and watch in surprise as her icon fizzes out. I look up and see her move her hand away from the back of her neck, which was probably where the tracker was. I think. So, either she knows we've hacked her base, or she doesn't want to be followed to this location. The latter is more likely. Let's see what she has to hide...
~Russia's POV~
I'm at home on the couch when Ukraine runs in. Taking a gulp of the vodka I stole from Poland, I respond with "What?" in an emotionless voice. "B-brother...girl...sword..kill...!" He is obviously out of breath. "What?!" I whip around to stare at him. "Who killed the girl?!" He responds with "No...a girl..with a mask..killed the rest of the soldiers...!" I stare at him. "Where..?" He huffs, then says "Follow me."
I follow him to a clearing in a forest, with a rock that looks almost like a seat, but that's not what catches my attention. The clearing is filled with bodies, and there is blood everywhere. I hold in the urge to vomit. Ukraine trembles. "I'm...I'm going t-to go..." He runs back the way we came. I walk forwards. I am about to go home when I hear a voice. "Hello? Is anyone there?" It's a girl. She walks out from under the trees, looking lost. I growl. Ukraine said it was a girl who killed these people...could this be her? "Did you do this?!" I shout. She looks scared and frozen for a second, then she mutters "No, I was attacked by the same...man...that killed these people." I don't believe her. She would have been dead right now! Then she stutters "I-It's true..." and I give in. She does have a black eye, and she is covered in blood. I bend down and hug her. I can feel her tremble. "Do you want me to take you back to town?" "Y-yes..." She trembles more. When we arrive at the town, I offer to take her home. She tells me her address, and I take her down European Street to her house. When we arrive there, A boy with black, gold, and red horizontal stripes runs up to the girl and yells "SWITZ! You're okay!" she laughs and says "Well, this man saved me." The boy looks up in awe and runs to hug my knees. "Thank you for savin' my sissy!" I laugh and say "And you are?" "Belgium, an' this is my sissy, Switz-Switza-'' The girl smiles and says "Switzerland." I look up and say "Well, Switzerland, I'm Russia. I guess I'll see you around." "Oh, yeah. See you!" She responds, waving. And with that, I walk off. In bed later that night, though, I think back on what she said. 'I was attacked by the same...man...that attacked these people...' But Ukraine said that a girl attacked them. Does this mean that Switzerland was lying? Was she in the woods for a different reason? Or maybe, just maybe...did she kill all of those people? No, Russia, that would be preposterous! She definitely did not do it...then I drift off to sleep.
