Chapter 26
Chapter 26
“Dearly beloved, we have gathered here today to not only join two hearts that are in love, but to join two species of our supernatural kind. Love is a beautiful thing…” and he is boring me. Where the hell are the boys? They need to come to my rescue like now.
“Ms. April did you hear me?” the priest asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“No I’m sorry. I was lost in my thoughts.”
“It’s okay. The bride’s mind tends to stray when she is about to wed. I was asking for you to repeat after me. It’s time for your vows.”
“Actually I don’t believe that she would like to say her vows to a man like him.” I smiled, looking up to see Austin holding onto a tree branch. “I believe that the woman you have down there is mine.”
I blew him a kiss and Marissa stood behind me. Victor looked pissed. “How DARE YOU RUIN MY WEDDING? SHE IS MINE. WE ARE TO BE MARRIED AND SHE IS TO BE MY QUEEN. GIVE UP.”
“I don’t think so Princey.” He smirked. And with that their army flew out the forest, charging and slashing at their oncoming enemy. Victor pulled me close to him though.
“You have no power under this shield. You are going to come with me or I will kill you.” He growled into my ear.
I smiled to myself and felt my power surge through me. He hissed in pain and pulled away. “How do you think they were finally able to get in? They were going to attack after the ceremony. Luckily they changed their minds. I don’t think I could stand being married to you even if it was only for an hour.”
“You little bitch. I should have just kept you tied up and raped you. You would have given me a child whether you wanted to or not.”
“Well you messed up. Now prepare to die.” My sister grabbed my hand and with a wide sweep of our arms, the shield was broken. Our powers were now at their full extent. The wedding dress I wore the started to burn off of me, leaving me in a black combat suit.
Victor’s eyes widened and he ran for the hills. I was about to follow after him but a familiar hand landed on my shoulder. I turned to Austin and kissed him. “I don’t want you going after him April. I will get him. He took you from me and that is not acceptable. I will end this. His parents are hiding inside. We don’t know where the bunker is. You and your sister need to help my brothers. Can you handle that?”
“I don’t want to leave you fighting him alone. Please take me with you. Marissa already knows where the bunker is. She can help them. I need to be the one to help you battle him. His powers are insanely strong. You will not stand a chance against him. Let me come.”
He was about to argue but I was already running toward the direction Victor went. I don’t know why he would run this way. I mean his family’s bunker is in the opposite direction. For some reason while I was here he decided to give me a tour of the land. He even showed me a part of the shield. When I touched it, it shocked me. But it’s not like it will matter. My sister took down the shield.
I could hear Austin running behind me. I know he’s pissed that I was going to help him out but I’m his best shot. When Victor was within my eye sight, I jumped up into the safety of the trees. Austin shook his head but kept pursuing our victim. “Victor, just give up. You’re army is being slaughtered. You will fall.”
“I will never fall. You are not strong enough to kill me by yourself. Your brothers may have been able to get me down but you alone can do nothing.” He smirked as he turned to face Austin.
I sat in the tree tops, looking down at them, just in case if Austin needs my help. I armed myself with a bow and arrow, taking aim.
“Where is your little witch now? She is the only one that could have gotten me. But being that she is busy then I think I will just dispose of you myself. After I’m done with you I can screw that little virgin and have her produce my child. A nice strong boy will be born.”
I could see Austin rolling his eyes. “April can you take the shot. He’s getting on my nerves.”
With out hesitation I shot the arrow through his chest. Victor gasped as he clutched his chest. The poison was circulating through him. I jumped from the tree, landing in Austin’s arms. “How could you do this to me you little bitch?”
“It’s not like I want you. You took me against my will. I would have never agreed to marry you if you didn’t have my sister captive. Hell I probably would have killed myself.”
He growled, trying to reach for me but ran out of strength. I rolled my eyes at his acting. I snapped my fingers and his body lit on fire. He screamed out in pain. I smirked and collected his ashes into a jar that I made appear. “How’d you know he was still alive and why keep his ashes?”
“Along with showing me around, he gave me the list of his powers. The poison would stun him but he can only die when burned. So I burned him. The bad thing is that his powers need to be transferred into someone or we get a crazy flow of cosmic energy flowing around. His presence would constantly be around us since I was the one to kill him. So we have to transfer the powers to someone. Wanna be my test subject?”
He laughed, kissing the side of my head. “Maybe sweetheart. But for right now how about we go back to their castle… Well our new home.”
I nodded and pecked his lips. “I’ll race ya.”
Before he could even blink I was sprinting through the forest. He chuckled and ran after me. I know I have no chance at beating him in a race as a human, but I can win only because I’m a witch. Just as he was about to go past me, I chanted a quick spell to have me arrive in the front of the castle. I could hear Austin’s yell of frustration from miles away, only causing me to laugh harder.
Just as he came through the clearing though, I felt something hit my back and stomach. I stopped laughing, looking around. Austin’s eyes were wide with panic. “April!!!!!”
I looked down to my stomach and there was an arrow piercing me. I gave a weak chuckle and fell into Austin’s arms. He pulled the arrow out slowly, holding me close. “April, stay with me. I know you can hear me. Everything is going to be okay.”
I smiled and looked up at him. “Hey babe… Wassup… How are you feeling?”
“Why are you asking me that? You’re the one that got shot with an arrow. The medics are going to be here soon. Can you use your powers to heal you?”
I shook my head. “I can feel my powers sleeping. I guess the necklace is having trouble keeping it up. I’m trying though.”
“Why try for her? She’s going to die soon. Just come back to me my love. We belong together.” Selena said as she came out of the forest, carrying a bow.
“Selena, you did this? You will pay?”
She only rolled her eyes. “Everything will be fine for her if you just say you will be mine. I have an antidote to the poison.”
I rolled my eyes in return. This standoff is annoying the crap out of me. *Do you have a clear shot at her and do you have something that will cure me?*
*Yes to both dear sister. The poison that she gave you takes hours to kill, even at the concentrated dosage she gave you. Do you want me to take the shot now?*
*On my signal.*
“So bitch… do you have… any last words?” I smirked.
“What do you have to smile about? You’re going to die soon.”
I shook my head. “You’re the one that’s going to die soon. NOW!!!”
Before she could do anything to stop it, she was shot by my sister’s arrow. She looked down at the wound, and dropped dead. Our poison actually works faster than hers. My sister came out the forest and used her magic to start healing me.
Austin looked between us and shook his head. “I should have known that was what you were doing. You two are something else.”
My sister smiled and healed me but I was getting sleepy. “She is going to be knocked out for a little while. That poison was weak yes, but it already worked its way into her system. When she wakes she will be cleansed.”
I smiled up at my sister and everything went black.
