Chapter 25
Chapter 25
“Get off of me.” I shouted as I glared at the women in my room. Three days. It has been three damn days since Victor took me and I could hear the four brothers fighting to get in. Once they realized something was off about the sudden retreat they knew that we were taken. Of course Victor now had a damn spell put over the castle that stopped us from getting out but that doesn’t mean I haven’t tried without my powers. Sadly nothing works when it comes down to it and that pisses me off.
“Oh calm down child. You will be marrying my son tonight. Isn’t that glorious?” his mother cheered. Oh did I mention that I had to marry that ass today. Well surprise. I have to and don’t have a choice if I want to or not. Not like I’d want to either way.
“I’d rather die than marry him. If it weren’t for the fact that he had my sister then I would have already killed myself.”
The woman glared at me and struck me across the face. “If it weren’t got your blood being strong I would have stopped this wedding and killed you. But I will excuse this attitude of yours.”
I sneered and kicked her in her stomach. She flew back into the wall, knocked out. That was the final straw for me. The other girls ran to their queen making sure she was alright while I started taking off the crap they made me wear. When I stripped down to my undergarments I decided that now would be a good time to move. I slipped through the window, knowing that the guards outside my door would be coming in right now. I looked down at the drop I had to make but took it at my chance. I knew where they were keeping my sister; I just had to get there before I was found. Just as I started to go to where my sister was being held a pair of arms wrapped around my waist.
“Where do you think you’re going my wonderful bride to be?” I heard Victor purr into my ear.
I groaned and tried to pull away from him. “I don’t want to marry you. I can’t stand you.”
“I know that. But you are going to have to deal with it. You can’t use any of your magic since there is a barrier for it. Besides if you try to leave I will kill your sister. And I know you don’t want your magical twin sister to be gone.”
I gave him a strong glare but stopped my struggling. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if she were killed. I may not like this asshole but I loved my sister. I would do whatever it took to keep her alive. I let him drag me back up to the room I was being held. His mother glared at me, but smiled at her son. “I see you were able to catch her.”
“Watch over her better. I do not want her to escape. She keeps trying to get to where I have her sister.”
His mother shook her head and threw me into the bathroom. “Well don’t worry my son. We will make sure that she looks beautiful for the wedding. We just have to get her cleaned up. She’s gotten her stockings dirty.”
I rolled my eyes at them. Are they serious? Here I am, not wanting to marry this man, trying to escape and she is talking about me ruining my stockings. I really want to hit her. “Mother, make sure that she stays in the room. I want her to look beautiful also. Tonight after the wedding we will work on her having my child.”
“Oh hell no! You’re not breeding me.” I nearly shouted. My virginity belonged to one person and Austin isn’t here right now so I will stay a virgin.
“I can do what I want. You are my bride. A man can do whatever he wishes to the woman he weds. The women are forever under their male counterpart. Isn’t that right mother?”
She looked to him and nodded, not wanting to speak. Oh great. I was going to be forced to be with a man I hate and it wasn’t even against the law. No wonder the brothers want to take the throne away from these pigs. “Son, I think you should leave now. She won’t be able to get away again. There are more guards that you have called to secure her. When we are done in here I will have the guards that you have selected bring her down to you.”
“Good.” He looked down at me with a sincere smile. “I will see you in an hour my love. I can’t wait until you say I do.”
I spat at him as he turned to leave the room. I can’t believe this arrogant asshole. I don’t want to be here at all. “Come on April. It’s time to get you washed up again. If you didn’t try to escape then this would have already been done but of course you had to get all dirty. I’m happy that the child will not be raised by you. You are an unfit mother.”
Before I could stop myself, I laughed. “If I’m an unfit mother then what does that make you? Your son is a pompous ass. You didn’t raise him and that’s your fault. When I do have kids, and I can assure you that they will not be his, I will be there for them. I will love them with all my heart and I will have my happy family. Once I get out of this place me and my sister will be sure to kill you all. The brothers will take over the throne and everything will be right in the world. People like you don’t even deserve to live.”
She scowled at me and struck me across the face yet again. “You need to learn your place. You are a woman and you are nothing.”
“Actually I’m a woman and a witch. It gives me the advantage.” I laughed darkly.
His mother only shook her head and left, leaving me to wash yet again and get dressed.
…
“I want to see my sister before this blasted ceremony.” I yelled to my damn captor after I was dressed. I hated this damn dress. It was so fucking puffy. But under it was something that stopped me from running away from him. Some damn contraption that only my gruesome groom can take off. If I get too far from him then it electrocutes me. Isn’t that lovely?
“You will do no such thing.” He shouted back.
“I want to see her. Make sure that you’re men are treating her good. If you don’t keep your end of the deal then I will kill myself. Especially if my sister is near death.”
I could just feel him rolling his eyes. “Fine. I will have some of my men escort you down to where she is. You will only have 15 minutes with her. Then we will be wed. She can witness the wedding.”
I groaned but followed the guards that were taking me down to my sister. Now I really hate this dress. It’s incredibly hard to move in, mostly on the stairs since I couldn’t see shit.
When we finally reached the door, I was tired. This shit is heavy too. I looked to the guard and he opened the door. In the room I saw my sister sitting on a chaise, looking down at a book. Shouldn’t she be a little more worried? I mean her sister is about to wed a man that she hates.
“Sister, you look beautiful in that dress. I must talk to the queen about where she got it. Whenever I wed I have to wear a dress like that.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” I was utterly confused.
“Guards, leave me to talk to my sister. I believe I need to lift her spirits or she will be acting like this throughout the whole wedding and we don’t want that now do we.”
The guards nodded and pushed me into the room, locking the door behind me. “What the hell is wrong with you? How can you support this marriage? And why are you in such a lush room?”
“I had to surrender to him. It didn’t take much. I just stopped struggling. That’s the way he works. But I do not support the marriage. He’s an asshole and you have your mutual that you are to be with forever.”
“Oh. So it was all an act. But this is a nice room. Too bad you are here unwillingly.”
She sighed and nodded. “Yes but I have news. The brothers have found a way to get in. They are going to try to steal us away during the wedding.”
“I don’t think that it will work. Somewhere in this damn dress is a device that will electrocute me if I get too far from Victor.”
“Well I have a plan for us to make things easier.” She got up from the couch we sat on and went to her jewelry box. She pulled out a blue diamond necklace. It matched the purple amethyst one she wore that complimented her purple bridesmaid dress. “This necklace enhances our magic. Mine does the same. We can charm that device off of you together. As time went by there are ways for us witches to avoid the power of the shield. The necklaces were only triggered when I got here. I made sure that I had one for you too just in case. I want you to wear it. You have to. It’s our only way out now.”
I nodded and let her put it on me. Once it was settled, I felt power surge through me. This necklace was definitely doing its work. “Can you turn off the device? I need to locate my conduits.”
She nodded and got to work while I called out to them. *Jasper. Jenna. Where are you?*
*We are with the princes. They threw us back at them after you were captured, knowing that we would be another power source for you two. How are you able to contact us?*
*Marissa had necklaces that are charmed to give us power under the shield. The wedding is going to start soon. Please be ready to help us. I don’t want to marry this man.*
*We will tell Austin. We will get to you. Don’t worry.*
*Thank you. The wedding will be starting soon. Please hurry.*
I smiled to myself and looked down at my sister who nodded, showing she was done with the device. “They are with the brothers. They are going to attack soon.”
My sister smiled and hugged me. Just as we were about to pull away, a guard opened the door. “It’s time for you two to get going. The wedding is about to start.”
I sighed and stood, my sister held up the back of my dress. I smiled back at her and we went up all the damn stairs to get to the main floor where the wedding would be taking place. At the top of the stairs, in front of large doors, Victor’s father stood in front of them, looking impatient.
“It took you two long enough. Your sister is walking ahead of you and you will be walking with me. You will act as though you are happy to marry my son.”
“If you want me to smile then I will walk down the aisle with my sister. She is the only comfort I have here.”
“Whatever. Walk with her. Just look happy while walking down the aisle.”
“I would be happier if you just let me go.”
He laughed and shook his head. “We are not stupid enough to do that. Letting a powerful witch go? Are you insane?”
I rolled my eyes as I saw him walk down the aisle by himself. His bitchy wife was already there and shook her head when she saw her husband walk down by himself. I could see Victor glaring at me from the altar, not like I really cared either way. Marissa looked to me and smiled. “We will get through this.”
I nodded and we proceeded to walk down the aisle, to the stupid wedding march. I hope Austin hurries to get to me. I don’t want to marry this man, even if it’s only for a few minutes.
