Chapter 2

APRIL’S POV

The drive to the warehouse was long and it made me anxious. How long would I be staying there? What is going to happen to me if I didn’t get sold? How many more vampires are there? The van stopped and I didn’t hesitate to put up a fight. Of course I was out numbered. They threw me into a room with a bunch of girls around my age. The girls looked terrified but once they saw the Jasper in my arms, they smiled. I didn’t even hesitate to set him down, so he could be crowded by the girls. I knew he was going to enjoy the girl’s attention. He deserves a break too. He works too hard to protect me. I waited around the room and watched as Jasper was scratched, cuddled, and even placed on girl’s breast. I laughed and waited for the next step of this stupid process. I would have tried to get out but I know for a fact that there are men guarding the front door.

*3days later*

This place is boring. I hate it. We are fed small portions and I have to share them with Jasper because they didn’t want to give him dog food. So I’m starving. But to make things a little better, I have met some new people like: Lily is a cute red head, Hannah is a pretty blonde, and Keri is a gorgeous brunette. We ended up getting close to one another.

Just as we were getting into a deep conversation, a short stubby man came into the room with a clipboard. “Number’s 43, 44, 45 and 46, come with me.” The man demanded. (There are 46 of us in the room. We sleep on the floor.).  

Lily’s Number 43

I’m Number 44

Hannah’s Number 45

And Keri is Number 46

We got up and I was about to follow them, but I remembered Jasper. I whistled and he ran into my arms. I waved the girls good bye and left with Lily, Hannah, and Keri. It was quiet as they pulled us through some long hallways. Me, the girls and Jasper didn’t utter a word nor whimper. A sudden burst of shouting hit our ears, causing us all to jump in fright.

Out of nowhere, Jasper was pulled from my arms and someone tied a rope on him as I handcuffs were put on mine and the girls’ hands. Jasper was tied to my handcuffs and we were all shoved onto a stage. A bright light shone in my face but I heard the auctioneer introduce us.

“These girls are a set. Number 43 is the gorgeous red head we have. She’s strong but won’t go against orders. Number 45 is our blonde she’s feisty and has a very lively body. Number 46 is the brunette that’s stands on the end; she is willing to learn new things and a great cook. And last but not least is Number 44; she’s tied to the dog. She has a very bad temper but she’s willing to work in order to stay alive. The bidding will begin at $1,000,000.”

I stood there and didn’t move. The lights dimmed down and I saw things now. They played music so I guessed we had to dance. I stayed still though. There was no way I was going to dance for these disturbing people. Even when they chanted for me to dance, I still did not move, the others started dancing though, in fear of what would happen if they did not comply. They stopped once the auctioneer shouted. “Sold for $300,000,000. That’s a new record. Come up and claim your prizes gentlemen.”

I turned to the stairs and watched as four men came up the stage. They appeared to be vampires, of course. I didn’t have time to really asses them because I was thrown over someone’s shoulder. He had to be at least 6 feet tall because Jasper was dangling off the other end of the rope. I had Jasper climb up the guys back and held him close to me. This sucked. I was being carried and this guy was very uncomfortable. After 2 minutes of being carried I got really bored. We were still in the warehouse. How large is the damn place? “Dude? Why are we still in here? Walk faster.”

“You are to call me Master Number 44. Now silence.”

“Ok. One I’m not calling you master. Two my name is April. And three I’m not going to be silent.”

The man laughed and bounced me on his shoulder. My stomach hit his shoulder hard and it started throbbing. I groaned and he laughed again. “Jerk.” I muttered.

We finally made it outside and were placed inside of a limo. Hannah, Keri, Lily, and I sat across from the guys and looked down at our skirts. We weren’t sure what was going to happen but I know things will be better if we go through all of this together.

“Girls heads up.” A voice said sweetly.

My head was already up but the girls gasped as they looked into their red eyes. I kept glaring at them while the girls looked back down. “They are too shy to look up into your faces.” I said clearly. I had to show them I wasn’t afraid.

“Well I’m happy to see one of you is speaking up for yourselves. I’m Tony, and these are my brother James, Austin and Justin.

“Very well Tony. I’m April and these are Hannah, Keri, and Lily.”

“Ok good. Now here’s the thing we have bought you and you will be our personal slaves as in you will have to listen to us. I’ll take Lily.” He pulled her to him and sat her on his lap. She blushed wildly.

“I’ll take Hannah.” Justin said pulling Hannah to him.

“I’ll take Keri.” James said pulling her close. She smiled and he kissed her cheek.

“Great I get Ms. Out Spoken.” Austin said as he rolled his eyes. This happens to be the one that carried me over his shoulder a little while ago.

“What you’re not going to pull me on to your lap? Am I not special enough for your conceded ass?”

“Hell no. You’re too damn fat. You nearly broke my shoulder when I was carrying you out.”

“Whatever.” I looked at Jasper and he smiled at me, as if he was asking me to change right now. “Of course Jasper. Go ahead.”

I know I looked like I was crazy but there was no point in trying to explain it when I could just show them what Jasper could do. Jasper jumped from my arms, sat next to me, and began to shift. When he was done I smiled and sat on his lap. Austin looked pissed. “Why are you sitting on a shifter? Where did he even come from?”

“Well you don’t want me on your lap so I have Jasper’s lap to sit on. He’s my best friend. When you bought me you bought him. We’re a package.”

“Whatever. Turn him back into a dog. Then get your fat ass on my lap ok?”

“I’m not fat. You’re just a weak vampire.”

“April do as I say. I’m not playing around. Behave or you will be punished.”

I rolled my eyes but agreed with the asshole. “Fine. But he is going to change back whenever we get to wherever you’re taking us. Jasper, shift so he can shut the hell up.”

“Oh come on April. I’ve been stuck like that for 3 days. I need a break from it.”

“Well you have to change. Austin is getting jealous.” I giggled and turned back to Austin. He looked as though he was ready to rip Jasper’s throat out. I don’t know what the hell his problem is. I mean come on.

“April, I order you to come on my lap right now. You have to obey me.”

Of course I’m stubborn and didn’t want to move. Austin pulled me off Jasper’s lap causing Jasper sighed and changed back into his dog form. He did a little whine as Austin kissed my neck. I didn’t show any interest though. “Kiss me April.”

I looked at him and he forced his lips onto mine. I wanted to fight him but the feel of his lips made me loose all sense of straight thoughts. His hands explored my body, heating up wherever he touched. He kissed me down my neck until he found my soft spot and gently bit on it. I moaned and he smiled against me. I didn’t think anyone but Jasper could find that spot, no one has ever found it. How the hell did he find it? He pulled away with a wide smile on his face. I blushed, hoping that the girls didn’t see me in my weak moment. When I looked for them, I noticed that the car was now empty. How long was he kissing me?

Jasper was still there because we were actually in this together. I moved off Austin’s lap and got out the car. But before I got too far from Austin, I pulled off his jacket and threw it on top of Jasper. Jasper changed back into his human form and we followed behind Austin. I kept my head high as Jasper wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

I smiled up at him and we walked into the huge mansion. I was a little pissed about this slave thing though. This isn’t right. I know I could escape if I wanted to but I have to find out why that kiss with Austin felt so good. How the hell did I just play into him like that? And why did I like it so much?
