Chapter 14

“So what are we going to do now?” I asked Jenna as we all walked through the forest. My feet were starting to hurt.

“Well I think we’re in deep enough. We should set up camp right here.” She smiled.

“Right here? We’re in the middle of no where.” I pouted.

“With your powers we’ll be doing fine in no time. Just relax.”

I sighed and plopped down on the ground. It felt squishy and I nearly screamed. “Someone please tell me that I didn’t just sit in shit.”

Jazz laughed turning his head to the side. “It seems as though you have April.”

I let out a loud scream and shot up. “I have no other clothes. Is there a river near by, Jenna?”

“A few miles away. How about you go wash up and I’ll talk to Jazz about your training?”

“Sure.” I walked in the direction she pointed in and in a few minutes I found the river. I looked up stream seeing a majestic waterfall not too far from me. It looked so romantic. I took off my shorts and washed them in the river. I can’t believe my unlucky life. Only a few days and I’ve already ran away from the brothers. Is it wrong that I ran? Nope. It isn’t even my fault. I was protecting my family name. If people were wise they would learn to never cross me.

After my shorts were washed I looked down at the water. I wonder what kind of powers I have. Maybe I can move water. Hmmmm...

I looked down at the water, thinking of a water ball. The water bubbled a bit and rose about an inch over the water. I smiled and just like that, the ball fell. I guess I have to focus on it. I thought about the ball again, only on the shape and form. It rose over the water and set itself in the palm of my hand. I twisted it and ran it along the edge of my hand. The water went around my wrist like a vine. I squeezed my hand and the water froze. I smiled and watched it melt away as I looked it over. “Cool. Let’s see what else I can do.”

I looked at a rock and thought of having a bottle to drink from. I walked closer to the rock, my hand hovering over it. I watched as it crumpled into a small bottle. It looked pretty smooth. Hell it even had a bottle cap. I picked it up and filled up some water from the river for it. This is so awesome. Who would have thought that I could have such amazing powers?

By the time I got back, Jenna and Jazz set up a little camp already, when I caught their eyes everything just stopped. “Where did you get that bottle?”

“I made it Jenna. I was thinking about a bottle and thought of the figure inside of the rock. The rock started to crumble and this is what I got.” I smiled.

“Who would have thought that her powers would start developing so fast? I can understand when she’s angry but she’s able to control this without destroying anything.” Jenna stated.

Jazz only laughed. “Just wait until she is handling fire. The whole forest will be gone.”

I growled and took a hand full of water out the bottle with my power. With a quick thrust I dowsed Jazz in water. “I don’t think its right to tease someone that is more powerful than you, you’re lucky that I like you.”

“Well you can’t live without me; I am to be your protector while Jenna is your mentor. I will forever be by you side.”

“And that’s what makes you such an awesome friend.” I smiled.

“Can we start your training now April? I think it would be wise before your powers get too out of control.”

“But I can control my powers Jenna. Watch.” I held my hand over Jazz’s body and absorbed the water I threw on him. I took it and put it back into my bottle. “See I can control myself just fine.”

“Well can you make a fire? If you can do that then we don’t have to practice today.”

I sighed and thought of something hot. Fire. Think only fire. A small bud appeared in front of me, dimming slightly. I gave a slight smile to myself and watched as the fire grew a bit. “Put it out April. We’re surrounded by trees, they’ll catch fire.”

I tried to take it out but I felt it starting to grow. I struggled to contain it but it just wasn’t working. How can I create it but not diminish it? In a blink of an eye the fire was starting to spread. Quick thinking caused me to dowse the fire with the water I got from before.

“It’s not as easy as you think.” Jenna stated, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched me.

“Well it’s not like it’s that easy. I mean I just created a fricking fire.”

“I know you did but you’re trying to advance in things you should slow down for. It takes time to develop all of your powers. If you weren’t so advanced then I would have you go over potions and start moving things with your mind.”

“Well how about we go back to lesson one. I think I would be better for me to start off slow like you said. So how do I move things with my mind?”

And the day went on like that. Jenna was teaching me different things to move with my mind, how to focus, and how to keep one thing in the air while moving another. By night time Jazz made a quick fire and cooked fish that he caught while me and Jenna trained.

“So how was your training April?” Jazz asked as he roasted the fish.

“It was just fine. I didn’t have to worry about burning the forest down. Jenna is an amazing teacher. Thank you.”

“I was designed to be your teacher. So you don’t have to thank me.” She blushed.

“Well I feel as though it’s polite to thank a person for doing such a great job.”

She laughed and watched as Jazz roasted the fish. It was quiet until we heard a stick crack and a few voices. I threw water onto the fire and looked around me. Jasper shifted into a wolf while Jenna changed into a bear. Get on my back.

I got onto Jenna just as someone burst through the clearing. Jazz growled and faced the enemy just as Jenna escaped with me. Jenna we have to help him.

No! It’s his job to protect you. You’re still developing your powers. You can’t control them fully yet.

That’s what you think.

I picked myself off her back and started to run back toward Jazz. “Jasper, I’m coming.”

Me and Jenna didn’t reach far and I could see that Prince pinning Jasper down, about to smash his head in. “Don’t you dare kill him.”

“What are you talking about? He was attacking me.” He yelled.

“He was protecting me. Jazz shift.”

Slowly Jasper took his human form and glared at the Prince. “I thought I told Jenna to take you out of here.”

“You did but she does have her powers. I couldn’t grab her before she used her powers to get off me and run.”

“Well you my Princess are quite stunning. May I ask why you’re out in my land?”

“I didn’t mean to be on your land. I was just trying to get some peace.”

“No you aren’t.” he smirked. “I know that you’ve run away from your fiancé because he mistreated you. Were you planning on staying in the forest?”

“Yea. It was my only choice.”

“Nonsense. You are welcomed to stay with me. I’ll even give you your own room. How’s that?”

“I’m not really sure about that. You swore that you would have me and I feel that you just want me to show off. I’m not going to take this offer.” I said as I started to walk away.

“Well if you don’t take my offer I’ll be forced to have you arrested. You are on my property after all.” He smirked.

I could feel my power steaming inside of me. I looked back at the Prince and sighed. “Fine Princey. I’ll go with you only if you promise that you’ll leave me alone to practice my magic.”

“Please call me Victor. I don’t think I’ll like all the other names that you can up with.”

“I can call you whatever I want. Now are you going to take me to your place or can I continue getting to know this lovely forest?” I asked, getting on Jenna’s back.

“I would prefer if you rode on my back.”

“I would prefer to ride on someone I trust. If you don’t like it then you can go ahead and arrest me.”

He growled and turned to the forest. “I hope you and your pets can keep up with me.”

Jazz growled and changed into a panther. I smiled and watched as he jetted through the forest trying to keep up with Victor. Boys and their challenges. It’s about dominance. If I do this then he’ll leave you alone.

Well then you better win Jazz. I won’t take any losers.

Jenna laughed and started running toward where the boys were heading. In about half an hour we reached a very large and grand looking castle. Of course it was bigger than the brother’s place but still they’re place was huge. I have no idea how people don’t get lost in a place like this.

Victor looked back at me with a smile. “Are you ready to get settled?”

“Well it’s not like I have any clothes to up pack.” I rolled my eyes as I got off Jenna’s back so she can shift.

“Well we can go shopping if you’d like. We actually have a boutique in the castle somewhere.”

“Fine I’ll go there. I’m sure that something will be my size.”

“Well it wouldn’t even matter.” Jenna smiled. “Remember your body changes your clothes. If you’re in any danger your witch will take over and will form your clothes to what she seems fit of you wearing.”

“So if I were to seduce her then she would have her outfit changed into a sexy lingerie piece.” Victor smirked.

“Only in your wildest dreams will I ever let you try and seduce me Vicky.” I smirked.

“Really? Of all names to come up with you choose Vicky? I’m not even a girl.” He groaned.

“I know and that’s what makes it funny. Now can we go inside?”

He nodded and we all walked up the stairs to his palace.
