... Mummy? (Napped pt 3) (16)
Y'all!!!!!!!! 90 reads!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much! It means so much to me. I've been working on my writing for so long, and having people read and appreciate it. I love you guys.
Anyways! This is part 3 of Napped.
Let's just get going!
Abby's P.O.V.
We were inching up on the 35 hour mark. I was working furiously. I was trying to track a small device Tony had put into Leah's ring for emergencies just like this but something was blocking its signal. She didn't know about it.
"I wanted to microchip her," Tony had admitted "But Hope wouldn't let me."
I found the rings location: from there finding an active camera was incredibly easy. There was a camera almost on top of where I had tracked the ring. I hacked into it within a minute, and watched the live footage.
I saw Leah rip her shirt into a crop top, and use it to put pressure on her foot. Which had a bullet hole in it, and a knife sticking out of it. "No, Leah," I breathed. She started crying, and I couldn't blame her.
"Dad if you can hear me," She said, not looking up. "Or Kate, McGee, Gibbs, I dunno. I tried. I'm trying to stay strong for you guys. But I can't anymore. I love you guys. All of you. And if you can hear me, *Sob* Please come save me." I heard something fall behind me, and turned to see Tony standing in the doorway. There was a large Caf-Pow! on the ground, which Tony had obviously dropped when he saw the live footage. "I'm scared dad," Leah said.
I walked over to Tony, and hugged him around the neck. "I got an address, that's live." I informed him.
"Can you hack it so I can talk to her?" Tony asked me in a hollow voice.
"I don-" I started, but Tony cut me off.
"Try, please, just try." His voice sounded rough. I nodded, and went to check the result of the phones fingerprint: a full left thumb.
Tony focused on Leah. I didn't blame him. Leah moaned, and switched her hands from her foot to her ears.
"What happened?" I asked, looking up at Leah.
"Turn it off, please. Please turn it off. Please. Please. Just turn it off. Please..." Leah was saying over and over, rocking back and forth slightly.
"What did you do? What are you playing? What can she hear?" Tony asked. We both fell silent and heard a high pitched, something in the room Leah was in. "Turn it off." Tony said angrily.
"I- okay." I replied, hurrying over to the computer.
"Abby turn it off." Tony said again.
"I- I'm trying." I insisted.
"Abby, she's getting sensory overload, cut the sound off!" Tony almost yelled.
"I did," I insisted, as the sound stopped.
"Can she hear us now?" He asked me, still staring at the screen.
Leah's P.O.V.
The high sound stopped, and I took my hands off of my ears.
"Can she hear us now?" An all too familiar voice asked. It sounded like,
"Dad?" I shook my head at the thought. "No, it's not real. You're not really there. That's just me, going insane... But if you are really there dad... please tell me." I had stopped crying before, but I started up again. I would have stood up, but my foot hurt like Florida.
"Ellie, can you hear me?" My dad's voice asked, from somewhere above me.
"You're not real." I insisted, trying to ignore the thought that maybe it is real. But it can't be.
"No, he is," A different voice, female this time, but still familiar. "And I am too."
"A- Abby?" I ask.
Tony's P.O.V.
"A- Abby?" Ellie asks.
"It's really us Ellie," I insist.
"Tell me something only you would know." Ellie insisted. It hurts me to see her like this. So untrusting, so unbelieving.
"Quando eri bambino il tuo nascondino preferito era sotto il tavolo." I said, and I could see her face relaxing, hearing my Italian. A source of comfort to her since infanthood. (When you were a kid your favourite hide and seek place was under the table)
"When Kate went to go pick up your school work that very first day, you tried a Caf-Pow! for the first time. It was a cherry one. And you took a mouthful, then spat it all over the floor." Abby said with a laugh.
Ellie giggled, but stopped almost immediately. "Hey dad. Hey Ab. Are you guys coming?" She asked. It was the most innocent, and broken question I had ever heard her ask.
"We're coming right now. Stay strong. And give 'em hell from me." I said defiantly.
"I will." Ellie promised.
"Abby got an address, lets go." I said, grabbing my gun off of my desk, back at the cubical.
We got to the building, an old, run down factory, within minutes of Gibbs driving. We entered, guns out, and searched the building. No one was there. Not even Ellie. Only an armed woman, dressed in all black, ran into a room at the end of the hallway. We followed quickly.
Leah's P.O.V.
The woman dressed in black entered the room I was in.
"Who were you talking to." She asks, her falsely sweet voice crumbling.
"I thought you would know by now. But I talk to myself." I replied.
"No you weren't. I heard a reply." The woman contradicts.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I lie. But the woman just takes a knife out of her pocket, and slashes it across my thigh. It stings. But I don't flinch.
"Who were you talking to?"
"I really don't know what you're talking about." I lie again. With a glint of silver, I earn a slash across my chest. The blade cuts my new short shirt, and I tied it together to keep it on me.
"I thought I told you not to lie to me Elioriana."
"I'm not lying." I insist.
The woman presses the blade into my chest, cutting at least half an inch deep. "I told you not to lie." She says before leaving with a smirk.
I hear her footsteps retreat, then disappear all together. I smirk too. But quickly stop out of the pain stinging, and push the knot of my new shirt into the cut to try and slow the blood.
I was losing too much for having no water. My foot was throbbing so badly but it looked normal other than the knife and the blood.
10 minutes later she comes back. And I'm standing up now. "There appears to be someone here," She says.
"Yeah you," I reply, all thoughts of fear, and pain forgotten.
"It appears we are out of time. So, as a little parting gift," She says, raising her gun. She pulls the trigger, and I duck to avoid it. "You know, if you stay still this will hurt less." She insists, I stand up, looking the woman dead in the eyes. "Oh, good Elioriana." The woman says mockingly, raising her gun once more.
"Federal agents!" The voice of Gibbs says behind the woman. "Put the gun down, and your hands up." The woman grabbed me by the hair, whipped me around, and held me up by the hair. She pointed her gun straight at my neck.
"I don't think so," The woman said. "I want my money first." I gasped, trying to back away from the gun.
"Give me back my daughter." Dad insisted. All four of them were in the room now, their guns held out, pointing at the woman.
"You are not getting anything until we have Leah back." Kate replied.
"Have it your way," The woman holding me agreed. She pulled her trigger, and fire went through my stomach. I screamed, and my hair was released. I collapsed to the floor, and bullets flew over my head. The woman behind me collapsed too, and dad was right in front of me. I'm clenching my stomach with my left hand, my right was over my neck protectively.
"No exit wound," He whispered, hugging me. "We've got you now Ellie. You'll be okay," He reassured me. But I couldn't believe him. I didn't believe him. How could I ever be okay again? "Stay awake for me okay? Stay awake." Dad insisted, holding my face. But I can't hear him, because I'm asleep.
Tony's P.O.V.
Ellie's blue-green-grey eyes closed, and I freaked. "She's not dead. She's not dead, she is not dead." I said over and over. "Svegliati," I begged. "Per favore. Non posso perdere anche te."
(Wake up, please, I can't lose you too.)
Leah's P.O.V.
Darkness.
And then.
Light.
Then.
... a woman. I recognized her from all of the pictures and videos I'd seen.
"Mummy?" I called out to him.
"My gooseling," she replied. Her voice was exactly as I'd imagined it being. She ran to me too, and we ran into each other. We hugged for what seemed like hours.
"I miss you," I admit, tears welling up in my eyes.
"I do too. I'm sorry I didn't get to be a part of your life. I wanted to my gooseling, but I couldn't. Yet I was always watching. I'm sorry this happened to you." I looked down at my stomach, and there was a clean hole above, and to the right of my belly button. I looked at my bare feet, to see a large clean hole, and a small clean hole. I'm dressed in a white shirt -revealing my stomach- and a short white skirt, so I can't see my chest or thighs.
"Wait," I said, remembering something. "I can see you. Does that mean-" But mum cut me off.
"You're not. You can choose. You can either come and stay with me. Or you can go back to your dad."
"I don't know," I admitted. "I miss you so much. And... I love you. But, I love him too." Mum nodded, smiling. "I don't want to leave you. I've missed you every day. And I still will." Mum smiled wider. "What do you want me to do?"
"I want you to be happy. Obviously, I want you to stay with me. But you won't be fully happy here."
"I won't be fully happy there either." I contradicted.
"I know. But can you really leave your new family? Tony? Tim, Gibbs, Abby, Kate? Kaylee?" She asked, taking my hands. "And besides, there are boys down there that can make you happy, and take care of you like dad does."
"That's true."
"Jack really loves you."
"I love him too..." I paused. "Dad really misses you mummy. He tells me all these stories and I-"
"I know. I miss him too, I'm upset I don't get to live the life we planned together... My gooseling," I wanted to be called that on Earth, during my life. I wanted her to be there to call me that. "Look at me." Our eyes met, and I could see tears in her as well. "I want you to move on. Can you do that for me?"
"I'm not sure," I reply.
"Please gooseling, for me?"
A moment of silence. "Okay," I said, nodding. "I love you. So much." I said finally, crying again.
"I love you too." Mum smiled, and leaned down to kiss the top of my head.
"I wish I could be your gooseling."
"Baby, you'll always be my gooseling." She insisted, gripping my hands tighter, and staring directly into my eyes. Hers were blue, speckled with silver. Pictures never did them the justice they clearly deserve. She kissed the top of my head again, and I felt a tear from her eyes fall onto my hair.
I griped her shoulders, not wanting her to leave me. "Don't go." I begged.
I opened my eyes, and was met by a few blinding things. Blinding lights, blinging sounds, blinding pain, and blinding sadness. I started silently crying. My entire body hurt so much. Including my head. I closed my eyes against the bright lights.
"Tony, you should get some sleep." Kate's voice said to my left.
"I can't." Dad's voice said, also to my left.
"She will wake up when she is ready. There is a time for everything." Kate reassured dad.
"I don't care. I'm staying here."
"Then I am staying with you," Kate insisted, and there was a squashing of a chair. There was no movement for a while, and the lights turned off. I opened my eyes, and the light didn't hurt my eyes anymore.
"Dad?" I called, my voice almost silent. "Ka-ate?" At the sound of my voice, dad and Kate both jumped up.
"Ellie?" Dad asked.
"Is that you Leah?" Kate questioned.
"You're awake," Dad said elated. He stood up, and hugged me tightly. He made sure not to hit any of the tubes, iv's, or machines attached to me.
"I was just asleep," I insisted groggily, trying and failing to hug him back. My arms were so tired. Silence for a moment. "How long was I asleep?"
"2 and a half days." Kate replied, sitting on the foot of my bed. I cocked my head slightly, then remembered the woman. I remembered getting shot, and my breathing got faster. My heart rate machine went crazy.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey," Dad said, clutching my hand. "Stai bene," He promised.
"Remember to breathe, Leah." Kate reminded me. I panted for a moment, then slowed my breathing.
"Where's that woman?" I asked as my heart rate machine returned to its steady beeping.
"Dead." Dad and Kate said together. I let myself fall all the way down onto the pillow and sigh. But it makes my stomach hurt. I wince, and clutch it, to find a thick layer of bandages around it. When dad sees me touch them, he kisses my forehead.
"I'm so sorry all of this happened Ellie. I feel like it's my fault. It is my fault. I was the one who-" But I cut him off.
"Dad, it's not your fault. You didn't rant for 20 straight minutes. I did, and that's why there was a knife in my foot. I tried to secretly communicate with you, and the knife got twisted. I lied, and got shot. You gave me the strength to stand up to her till you got there.
"Dad, thoughts of you are what kept me going." I smiled sadly, then turned to Kate. "So what happened, how did you find me?"
"I am not entirely sure. Tony remembered something, then ran to Abby. That is all I know. She got a hit, and we went to come get you."
"Where is Abby? I want to thank her." I say, trying to sit up. But dad and Kate pushed me back down.
"She'll come to see you later okay," she said defiantly.
"... So how did you find me?" I asked.
"That ring I gave you when you." Dad said simply, pointing to the gold band on the table next to me. "I put a tracking device in it, so I could find you if I needed to. I remembered about it, and sent the stuff to Abby. She got a hit in about an hour, the building they had you in blocked the signal. She hacked into the camera in the room, and we were able to talk to you."
Abby hurried in 10 minutes later. "On, Little Tony!" She said worried, hugging me tightly. "Are you alright? I saw the footage and-"
"Ab, I'm alright." I promised.
"You lost so much blood! How can you say you're alright?" Ab asked me like I was crazy. "You got stabbed, kidnapped, and shot! How the world are you so calm about this?"
"Well, there are 3 items off my bucket list." I said, earning a laugh from mum and dad. I smiled at Abbs, then looked at the Iv's in me.
"Can I keep the knife?" I asked dad. "I want to put it in my time capsule."
"... what did you say when you got stabbed?"
"'Rude'." I replied.
Tony chuckled. "Sure."
"Sweet."
