Chapter two
Bradley
I wasn't able to forget about her. She had brunette hair that was slightly waved, the prettiest smile that I have ever seen and the most beautiful blue eyes. She also had a cute American accent, I was surprised when she started talking. I wanted to find her. But how? We only exchanged a few words at the market. I arrived home, jumped out of the car and made my way into the house.
-"Bradley!" My mom said while getting up from the dinning room chair.
-"Yes mother? Is everything alright?" I asked.
-"Yes, can you do something for me?" She said while walking towards me.
-"You know Madeline? Yes, well her daughter for California just moved with here. I told her that you could give her daughter a tour of the town." My mom said while smiling.
Is that her? The girl that I cannot get her out of my mind? There was only one way to know for sure, go see.
-"like right now?" I asked.
-"Yes right now. So go!" She replied
I walked out of the house and jumped in my car. Madeline has been our neighbor for the past 8 years, I didn't know she had a daughter. I was excited to go see if it was her. I arrived and parked my car in the long driveway. I got out and made my way to the front door. I knocked and waited a few seconds. The door opened and it was her. The beautiful girl that I saw at the market.
-"hi. Ummm, can I help you?" She asked with that beautiful American accent.
-"hi. Uhh, our moms talked together, and I'm apparently here to show you around town. I didn't really have a choice."
I told her.
She started smiling and turned around to get her coat.
-"So, let's go then!" She said with a joyful tone in her voice.
We got in my car and started driving towards the town. We lived a few minutes out but didn't take long to go.
It didn't take long to break the silence. We started talking about a lot of things like California. When we arrived in town, I showed her around and everything she had to know. After an hour and a half of driving around. We made a stop at the river and sat on the picnic tables.
-"What do you like about Edborough?" She asked.
I looked at her and thought about my answer. It was hard. Nothing really stood out of Edborough. Everything was ordinary, it rained a lot and has barely one hour of sun per day.
-"My secret hanging spot." I answered.
-"you have a secret spot? Where?" She asked curiously.
-"If I tell you it wouldn't be a secret anymore." I said while laughing.
She softly punched my arm and had a angry face on but then changed and she started to laugh. I knew she wanted to know badly but I didn't tell her because I liked the way she looked when mad. After that it was getting late so we decided to leave and go eat supper at the local restaurant. She called her mom to confirm and then we went. She ordered a hamburger and some waffle fries with a large ice tea. I ordered something similar and after a little wait the food was ready and we started to eat. It was delicious. After that we talked a lot and ordered desert. She explained to me why she was here and her life back in California. She was so beautiful when she talked. She would always flip her hair backwards because it was getting all over the place. Her eyes were blue as the deep sea, she was beautiful.
-"So what about your life?" She asked me.
I explained her my plan of graduating with good grades, get a scholarship, to University to become a doctor and then change the world with some cure.
-"It seems that you are prepared." She said with a smile.
-"Well, yes. I've always wanted to be someone that could make a change in the world. I've been going to Sri Lanka with a volunteering program and helping doctors in hospital for the past two years." I said to her.
-"that is just wonderful, well I hope that happens. She replied while smiling.
I looked at my watch and realized it was ten. I payed for the dinner and gave some tip for the waitress that was serving us. We walked out of the restaurant and talked some more and jumped in the car. I put on some music and we made our way back home.
-"Bradley?" She said.
-"Yes Kathrine." I said as I slowed down.
-there's my phone number if you ever want to text me." She said with a small timide voice of hers while giving me a piece of paper.
She smiled. Then we arrived at her place. She said thank you and walked back to her house.
It was the best dinner that I've ever been to.
