Chapter one

Kathrine

Getting sent off to a different country to live with your mom isn't the thing that I am the most excited about or even remotely happy about. Just because I get in trouble a lot doesn't give my dad a reason to ship me to my moms , who by the way, left us when I was 9 for a job that was apparently more important then her own family. I've came to visit a few times during summer and christmas because I was obligated to even though I didn't want to.

-"sweety get out of the car, we're here! Welcome to England." said my mom, while opening the car door with the biggest smile on her face.

I didn't like that my dad forced me to move here and abandonned my friends and my social life in a different country and be obligated to stay with my mom. I will be sent to school in a uniform in a month and a half and can't do anything about it.

-"Where's my hug. Said my step father, Jeffery, while stepping out of the front door and smiling.

I gave him a hug and we talked for a while about California. I picked up my bags and headed straight to my room.
I started unpacking my bags and putting my clothes in the closet. I heard knocking so I opened my door and there was my mom, holding a present.

-"It's for you sweety, as a homecoming gift." She said while giving me the small rectangular box. I had no idea what it was so I opened it. There was a set of keys. I looked up and my mom was smiling.

-"I hope you'll like it. I didn't know what color you wanted so I got it black."
-"No way!" I said while jumping around.

I gave her the biggest hug that I could ever give to someone and headed outside. There it was, my own car that was mine.

-"Go drive it! Oh! Can you bring me back a dozen of eggs sweety, I'm running low. The market is a few roads ahead you can't miss it." She said while opening the front door.
-"Okay!" I replied. Getting ready to start the engine.

I drove off while rocking to some ACDC music. I was so happy and so thankful for this. I just couldn't believe it , having my own car. A dream come true.

I parked a few meters away from the market's entrance and made my way down the narrow path filled with happy people buying groceries. I bought the eggs and some jam made by a local farmer's wife. When I was turning around to head back, some very tall guy bumped into me and made me drop my eggs.

-"Look where you are going next time." I said while scooping the broken eggs off the ground.

-"Sorry about that darling, I didn't see you there. Are you you okay?" He replied.

As I looked up, our eyes met. He was tall, muscular and very handsome. He was smiling and had cute little dimples. We stared at each other for a couple of seconds, not speaking.

-" Um, Hi, I'm Bradley." He said crouching down to help me pick up my broken eggs.

-"Hi I'm Kathrine." I replied with a small voice.

-"I'm sorry about the eggs I'll buy you some new ones."

We got up and started walking towards the lady who was selling eggs. He gave me the eggs and handed the money to the lady that was wearing too much perfume. We talked for a bit but nothing major happened.

-"Thank you for the eggs, have a great day." I said while smiling.

I turned around and headed back to the parking lot. I sat down in my car and started the engine. I made my way back home. I just couldn't stop thinking about his smile. It was so beautiful. Everything about him was beautiful. I wondered if he lived close by. I wanted to see him again.
