Act Two
If you lose enough times
Your bound to win at some point
Except all I can do is fail
And two wrongs can never make a right
-Madison M (me)
Marinette cried in a bathroom stall while Tikki sat on her trying to comfort the crying girl. Marinette tried calming down but couldn't. If she took a deep breath she broke down into more tears. When she heard the bell ring for lunch she got up and washed her face off. Her eyes red and puffy from crying but she didn't care anymore. She walked out to find Chloe smiling with everyone surrounding her.
"Hey Alya." Marinette faked smiled.
"Who are you?" Alya sharply replied.
"I'm Marinette. Your best friend." Marinette heaved out. Alya just flicked her hair and joined Chloe's group. Marinette was heartbroken. She thought she already lost everything but now she's lost her only friend. Everyone ignored her in the halls and pushed her down and acted like nothing happened. Marinette sat by herself in class since Alya sat with either a lonely Nino or Nathanael. At the end of the day Marinette ignored her parents and went straight to her room. She collapsed and cried on her chaise. her parents peeked through the trapdoor unable to know what to do or say so they left her alone.
Marinette wouldn't tell anyone or even write it in her diary because she knew someone would read it but she has severe depression. She cuts her legs when Tikki's asleep so she can feel released from everything. "Marinette Chloe's just being mean. Don't listen to her." Tikki tried to cheer her up.
"I just need to be alone right now Tikki." Marinette started taking off her earrings and Tikki understood and let her. She put them in the box she got them in and closed the drawer. Marinette went into the bathroom and took off her clothes and started a bath. While the water got hot she looked at herself in the mirror. Scars and bruises covered her body, head to toe. She couldn't help but tear up.
She got in the bath and felt relaxed. She turned on music and relaxed further. Her mind went blank for a few short seconds until memories of people dying surrounded her. Alya being ripped in half today. Nino being hit by lightening last week. Chat dying in her lap. Marinette cried into the bathtub and held her knees to her body. She closed her eyes and dunked her head in. She stared at the blurry ceiling only to be brought to remember Adriens green eyes.
She took a deep breath when she put her head through the surface of the water and breathing in and out. She heaved and started crying again. She got out only to get back in with a small box containing two straight razors. She slid them across her thighs and didn't even wince at the pain. She continued until the tubs water was a bright pink. She started the water again and drained the tub. She got out and dried off. She slowly put her pajamas on and did her homework. She turned the water of the bathtub off before heading back to bed without dinner for the third time that week.
Her parents grew worried for their daughter because she has skipped almost every meal for the past few weeks. She's came home crying for the last couple of days and never leaves her room unless she needs to grab a snack or go to school. She's changed drastically mood wise and they didn't know what to do. She showered more and more until it was day in day out. They woke up have the time to either sobbing coming from her room or angered grunts. They didn't know how to help her. They noticed the change in clothes and how she always wore her hair down with a sweater, hoodie and sweatpants which they expected since it's the middle of fall.
They called a doctor and told him about how she's been acting and that she's skipping meals and always stays in her room. The doctor told them that she's either going through a stage or is depressed. They didn't want to believe it but it was true. Their daughter was depressed and it was only a matter of time until she does something to make the pain go away.
Marinette woke up even more tired then when she went to be. It didn't matter how much sleep she got she was always tired. She got out of bed and put her earrings back in and got ready for school. She wore a short sleeved black shirt, ripped blue jeans, black van, a black hoodie and her hair down. She walked into the bakery and took a muffin and walked to school without saying good morning to her parents. She sat in the courtyard and read a book since she gave up on designing when Chat landed in the hospital. She gave up on singing a week after and playing guitar a week after that. Marintte slowly gave more things up. She couldn't handle the stress of being Ladybug and having other hobbies and jobs to do.
People walked in and pointed and laughed at her. Marinette bite her muffin only to have it slapped out of her hand and land on the ground. "Why don't you just kill yourself already? Your just a pathetic loser that no one wants around." Chloe put her hands on her hips with a sad looking Sabrina behind her faking a laugh. Marinette tried to walk away but Chloe pushed her down. "Your nothing and everyone would just be happier if you died." Marinette held back tears. She got up and walked out of the school and hide behind the stairs where she cried. She pulled out a razor blade she packed and slid it across her forearm. She did it three more times and finally felt release. Tikki didn't know how to help but she knew this was bad. She watched as the girl slumped back with her arm bleeding. Tikki knew this wasn't good but didn't know what to do or say. She's never had a holder get this upset. She let Marinette finish and helped her cover it up.
Marinette walked into class 15 minutes late. "Marinette why are you late again?" It was the fifth time this week.
"Do you really care?" Marinette sat in the back now. Juleka and Rose were forced to move there seats to where Alya and her used to sit by Chloe's rule. Ms.Bustier just looked at her and sighed. She turned back to the lesson while Marinette was barely able to keep her eyes open.
