Act Eight

If only I could stitch my tears together,
Weave a lake or braid a river,
If only I could make Jesus walk on my sorrow,
Looking forward to a miracle
Rather than dying tomorrow.
-J M van Breda

Marinette cried tears of joy onto the letter. If he had hope she had hope. She kissed his forehead before leaving.  She wanted to get better for him. She got home and threw out her booze and drugs. She threw away her razors with Tikki's help. When they cleared it all out Marinette opened her windows and let the fresh air and sunlight in. Marinette cleaned her room that had broken bottles, trash or clothes on the floor. She cleaned off her desk and found her design book. she opened it to a clean page and started sketching a coat. She smiled when she finished. She put her hair up and started making it.

She could never forget how to sew. It was her only passion. She finished and put it on and it fit her perfectly and she smiled bigger. Marinette put it on her desk and went through her drawers until she found a shirt Chat gave her. She put it on and hugged herself. Marinette ran downstairs and joined her parents for dinner for the first time in months. She ate a full meal and felt proud of herself. She did the rest of her late assignments and homework and went to sleep, all wearing his shirt.

She woke up and smiled. She smelled his shirt and it smelt like him and she smiled. She put the letter in her journal and took a bath. She pulled her long hair into a braid and wore a blue sweater, black jeans and blue tennis shoes. She wore a necklace Adrien gave her for her 16th birthday and joined her family for breakfast. she ate her cereal and left for school with a big smile on her face.

"She's too happy." Chloe snapped her fingers and Kim and Alix obeyed and hurt Marinette. Marinette shielded herself with her arms before they could touch her.

"Chloe what did I ever do to you to deserve this?" Marinette yelled from across the courtyard grabbing everyone's attention.

Chloe walked up to her as a circle formed around the two. "You exist. You exist and get in my way and I don't want to see you happy so just die."

"Okay." Marinette pushed herself out of the circle and ran into the bathroom. Marinette collapsed on the ground and cried into her sweater. She locked the bathroom door where everyone started banging on it.

"Marinette let us in! We can help!" Nino yelled as he hit his shoulder against the door. Kim followed but it wouldn't budge. Marinette looked at her red eyes in the mirror and wished she had her drugs and alcohol. They hit there shoulders against the door more but it wouldn't budge. "Let us in Marinette!" Nino yelled as Alix kicked near the door handle.

"Just go away!" Marinette yelled through the door. She was to big to go through the window so she was trapped. She put her head against the door.

Alya put her head against the door where Marinette had hers. "Please let us in. We only want to help you."

"No you don't!" Marinette yelled as she started pacing. "None of you care about me. If you did than you would ignore Chloe and help me!"

"She knows things about us that we can't let others know. We're sorry." Rose pleased.

"Guys let me try." Nathanael sighed as he went up to the door. "Marinette please let us in." He put his head against the door and shuffling was heard. Marinette stuck her hand out through the door and grabbed his collar and pulled him in and locked the door behind him. Marinette collapsed crying again and Nathanael held her as she cried into his shoulder.

"Why don't you follow Chloe like all the others?" Marinette cried out.

"She doesn't have anything on me. She either immediately tells people what she found on me or doesn't find anything at all." Nathanael held her closer as she cried. When she quieted down to a sniffled she pushed him out of the door and locked it again. They begged her to let them in but it was no use.  The bell rang and they left, with her crying in the bathroom.

"Tikki, I just want Chat back." Marinette heaved out between sobs.

"I know you do." Tikki sat on her shoulder trying to comfort her to no eval. When the bell rang she wiped away all the tears she had and unlock the door to find everyone gone. Instead of going to class she left. "Marinette."  Tikki sighed.

Marinette walked until she reached her dealers house. She can't handle the pain anymore. Since he was just starting out he didn't have much to offer but she took whatever she could. She did as many drugs as he offered and soon she was left with only a hollowed body. Her soul left along with Chat and won't come back until he does. She drank to her hearts content and felt pleased with herself but also guilt and shame. She wants to get better for Chat but she can't do it alone but all she is is alone. Even if she's surrounded by people she will always be alone.
