kim taehyung
today, taehyung wasn't the cheerful kid he usually was. he stayed away from jimin all day, not even making eye contact with the homeless boy. and by lunch, the others knew somethings was wrong. taehyung didn't even smile at yoongi when he saw him, which caused the elders heart to shatter a bit.
"you okay, tae?" yoongi asked, noticing how the younger tensed at such a question.
"yeah, i'm fine," taehyung lied.
"that's my fault, let me rephrase that. tell me what's wrong." yoongi knew taehyung had just lied to him, which angered the smaller slightly.
"nothing's wrong, let's talk about something else."
"don't avoid this, kim taehyung. i've been your best friend since you were born, i think i know when you're lying," yoongi growled angrily, hissing at taehyung.
"fine... i just.. someone i didn't think i had any emotional feelings for broke my heart a bit. i was only trying to help, i don't know why they were so cold," taehyung deeply sighed, frowning at the memory from this morning.
"see tae, if you never said anything i wouldn't have known what was wrong. now, i'm guessing this is about jimin. i'm not sure what he did, but i'm sure he didn't mean what he said or did. i always thought jimin was a little off, so maybe he was overwhelmed of what you had to offer or whatever you were trying to help with. i'm sure he'll apologize soon. and i'm not sure if you did anything wrong, but if you did, you might want to apologize too."
tae took a few moments to process everything his elder had just said. and to be honest, letting it out and hearing something from someone else's perspective really helped.
"thank you, gi. i better apologize to jimin, and maybe he'll accept the offer? anyways, go find your hobi or whatever." taehyung ruffles yoongi's hair before leaving, not forgetting to smile as well.

"where is that shorty?" taehyung whined, bouncing on his feet in frustration. there was only 30 minutes left of lunch, and jimin was no where to be found. taehyung swore he looked everywhere, and he thought it was time to just give up. so with his shoulders sunk, he went to the place him and his friends would usually go during lunch.
to taehyung's surprise, the brunette was sat there beside namjoon, reading the comics his mother created.
"jimin!" taehyung yelled in relief, causing the elder to jump.
"t-taehyung?" jimin whispered, hiding behind the comic.
"what are you doing here with namjoon? i've been looking for you forever!"
"i- he was helping me with reading the comics you gave me," the small boy admitted.
"you could've asked me, they're my comics, yknow?" taehyung argued, the others getting slightly uncomfortable.
"d-don't you hate me though? aren't you mad at me?" jimin felt tears well in his eyes, knowing that he was a horrible person.
"jimin, i don't hate you," taehyung said in a stern voice. "i'm just torn that you won't accept my offer."
"i... should get going," namjoon interrupted, leaving the room so the two would have some privacy.
"chimchim, i'm sorry for getting upset with you, raising my voice, or offending you in any way. it just hurts me to see others hurt, and i feel that it's my job as a wealthy citizen to take action." jimin appreciated the others words, but just didn't know what to do at this point.
"i apologize too," jimin mumbled in embarrassment. "i shouldn't have been so harsh to you when you were just trying to help. and you do so much for me, yet i've never done anything in return. and for rejecting your offer, i'm so sorry. i just- i hate being reminded of how horrible my life can be. i hate not being able to do anything for myself. and i hate myself for that."
"hey, it's going to be alright, don't cry," taehyung used his thumb to wipe a tear that trickled down jimin's puffy cheek. "what if... what if we call it a sleepover! and.. and when it's safe to go back home, i'll go with you."
jimin looked up at the younger hesitantly. taehyung wore a huge grin on his face. "why are you trying so hard, tae? for me especially. there's no use, there's no fixing me."
taehyung's heart broke at that. jimin seemed like- no, he was a nice guy. he deserved to believe that someone as good as him could have a good life in return.
"i won't force you to take my offer, but i don't want you to have to live like this. i know we don't know much about each other... but maybe we could create a closer bond together through this!" taehyung's breathtaking smile and welcoming arms were enough to have jimin flushed.
"i'm not sure how we got to this conversation again, but i think that this time it'll be a yes," jimin awkwardly smiled at taehyung, playing with one of his overgrown strands of hair.
"you'll walk home with me tonight."
