kim taehyung

it was 6:15am, taehyung's alarm had just woken him up. his vision was still blurry, and he could barely see his bigbang posters hung on his room walls. the purple sunrise peeked through his window, illuminating his room. the air was cold due to the crack in his window, but underneath his covers felt so warm. he did not want to get up. so he waited until that beautiful purple sunrise finished, and rolled out of bed.

his floor was cold too, so he jolted up and ran to the bathroom. he went to the bathroom before brushing his teeth and washing his face. he peeked outside to see how the weather was, although he'd have to just wear his uniform anyways. it looked as if snow was beginning to fall from the sky, which was strange since it was barely november.

what is this? canada?

taehyung inhaled before exhaling deeply. it was going to be cold at the bus stop today. since the weather was cold, taehyung decided to make a warm soup for the morning. he got dressed quickly and headed downstairs. taehyung simply just boiled a canned soup, pouring it into his thermos mug.

"ouch. tasty," taehyung winced as he burnt his tongue on the hot liquid, but hummed in satisfaction from the taste.

"ah shit, i should get going," taehyung groaned as he checked the time. although he was always early to his bus stop, he feared being late.

the walk to the bus stop felt longer than usual. it was probably because taehyung took baby steps, afraid that he'd slip on ice.

he was finally able to look up from his feet when he reached a familiar sign.

"ah, finally," taehyung hummed, taking a sip of his soup.

when taehyung opened his eyes, he was met with a shivering boy.

"i- uh— jimin? why are you here so early? and only wearing that?" the younger tilted his head when the older didn't respond. jimin was only in his uniform, a thin sweater overtop.

as taehyung continued to stare painfully at the older, jimin began to cry.

"oh my goodness! jimin, drink this," taehyung panicked, holding the thermos mug to jimin's lips. jimin drank the liquid slowly, it burning his throat. taehyung took jimin's freezing hands in his warm ones, breathing warm air on them.

"jimin, you've got to dress for the weather next time," taehyung sighed, before going back to warming jimin up.

jimin only nodded, even if he knew he couldn't, and handed taehyung the soup back.

"thank you, tae. i feel a little better. b-but i-i my- my parents haven't gone s-shopping for w-winter j-jackets and m-mine doesn't f-fit."

"hey, i uh have an old one. it might be a little big, but i'll bring it tomorrow." jimin's eyes immediately widened.

"r-really?" jimin was in shock, his once red and puffy eyes turning into crescents. at this point, others have begun to show up, but it didn't bother the two.

"of course," taehyung's heart warmed seeing jimin happy like that. he smiled at the older.

"thank you, thank you, thank you!" jimin whisper-yelled, hugging his short arms around the younger's large frame. jimin's never owned a winter jacket, so he was excited. especially since it's coming from taehyung.

"you're welcome," taehyung deeply chuckled, returning the hug. "hey, do you want to sit with me on the bus? my seat has a heater right next to it. it'll warm you up."

"yes please," jimin said small. "i— can i have more soup? i'm getting cold again sorry."

taehyung smiled sadly at jimin, nodding as he passed the soup over.

"mhm thank you again, tae. i-i'm really sorry for always being a bother." jimin frowned at himself, not knowing how he's made "friends". i mean they're friends to him, but he's not sure if he's a friend to them.

"please, don't think like that. it's okay to need a little help sometimes. and i just happen to love helping others." jimin repeated taehyungs words in his head, looking up at the younger innocently before smiling.

"you're a good person, taetae." the two stared at each other for a second. jimin ended up blushing and had to look away. taehyung secretly enjoyed the effect he had on the older.

as if it were just on time, the bus came.

everyone got on, sitting in their normal seats. except this time, taehyung has a buddy.

"here, you sit at the window so you get the most heat," taehyung said, climbing over jimin to get to his seat. jimin flushed a deep red, scooting to the other side as taehyung's ass almost hit his face.

"uh thanks. it's really warm here," jimin mumbled, getting comfortable.

it went silent, but the silence was comfortable. taehyung pulled out one of his mother's comics, reading carefully. he wanted his english to get better, for his mother's sake.

"what's that?" jimin asked, referring to the comic.

"it's just a comic," taehyung replied lowly.

"i've never seen that before. yet again, i've never really seen a comic," jimin giggled at himself. he was too poor to afford his own.

"wait... you've never read a comic?!" taehyung whisper-yelled in disbelief. jimin only nodded. "well i have to bring you some good ones. do you know english?"

"i can have a basic conversation. i never had good teachers," jimin shyly answered.

"joon taught me well. ask him if you ever need help. and these comics help me a lot too!" taehyung beamed, smiling at jimin and then the book.

taehyung started to read again. jimin sighed deeply, resting his head on the younger's shoulder before following along.
