"T-Tord, get off," Tom stuttered, gently shoving the Norwegian away. "You're making me uncomfortable..."
Tord reluctantly got off of Tom, moving his head away from the love bites he left, and stood up with an angry frown. "You never let me love you."
Tom sat up and looked away guiltily. "I'm sorry, I just--"
"Just what!?" Tord suddenly snapped. "Why don't you trust me? I won't hurt you! Don't you love me?"
"Yes." Tom's voice cracked, hot tears running down his cheeks.
"Then why don't you show it?"
"...it feels wrong."
"Everything feels wrong to you!" Tord punched the wall in frustration. "You're too scared to kiss me--or hug me! Hell, we can't even hold hands in public without you having an anxiety attack! I barely touch your waist and you completely freak out."
Tom didn't respond. He let more tears spill onto the checkered blankets. Tord growled and left the house, making sure to slam the door.
--Time Skip--
Tord came back to the house after a few hours, a red rose in hand. "Tom?" He called out softly, met by silence. "Tom, i'm sorry. I shouldn't have said all those things. I'm an idiot, I know."
No answer.
With a sigh, Tord walked upstairs and knocked on Tom's door. "Hey... please answer me when I talk to you," he murmured. "...Tom?"
The door didn't open, or move. Not even crying could be heard.
Tord opened the door, looking down at his feet. "I'm so sorry." He fiddled with the rose and bit his lip, not bringing his gaze up. "Tom... I love you."
There was still no answer. Tord finally looked up, freezing in shock and grief at what he saw. Tom hung from the ceiling with a noose around his neck, 'eyes' staring blankly ahead. His hoodie was off, revealing old and fresh scars on his wrist.
"No..." Tord let his arms fall limply to his side. The rose settled on the blood-stained carpet. He dropped to his knees, gazing up at Tom. "No, no, no, no, no..." Tears blurred his vision. "Please, no... Tom... Tom, nonononono... You can't-- This isn't-- Why...?"
No matter how much Tord pleaded, Tom hung there lifelessly. His quiet sobs soon turned into blood-curdling screams, his throat aching. Tord punched the floor over and over, continuing even if his knuckles bled. He stood up shakily, shoulders bouncing up and down because of his sobs, and found a note below Tom's body.
"Tom.. Tom.. Tom... Tom...." Tord repeated his name and picked up the letter, tears dripping onto it. He took a deep breath and opened it:
Dear Tord,
Hi. You might be crying (probably not). I thought about those things you said, and... you're right. I a̶m̶ was always jumpy whenever you touched me. Pssh, how pathetic. Then again, I was pathetic. Tord, no matter what, I love you. You shouldn't have wasted your time over me. I'm sorry I wasn't perfect however much I tried.
I'm crying as I write this (can you see the tear stains? Heh).
I love you Tord
I always will. Stay strong, my love.
--Tom
Even more tears escaped Tord's eyes. He folded the paper and shoved it in his pocket, looking at Tom's body again. "I love you..." he whimpered. "Don't leave me..."
Yet again he fell to the floor in a ball of self-pity.
His true love was gone.
Forever.
