The Mission
"Ezra are you ok?" Sabine asked him.
"I think so but I feel different." He responded. "Is that Lothal?" He asked looking out the window.
"Yes, are you sure you are ready to do this after..." she started.
"Yes." He said, harshly, seeing her face, "I'm sorry, I don't know what's going on."
"Do you remember anything of what you saw in your vision?" She asked as the ship pulled up to the planet.
He thought for a moment. "No I don't, everything is black." He said.
"Unidentified ship, you are entering a planet under imperial control." A cold voice said over the comn, snapping the two back into reality.
"Yes, we have cargo for capital city." Sabine said.
"Send the code." The imperial said.
Sabine hit a button and send the code to the star destroyer.
"Clear, you made proceed." He said, and Ezra let out a breath, he didn't realize he was holding.
Sabine navigated the ship to the surface.
They landed in a grass field outside the capital.
"Imperials will recognize us." Sabine told Ezra.
"I've already got a buzz cut what else do I have to do?" Ezra joked.
Sabine pulled out a pack of hair dye from her belt.
"I'm going to dye my hair, you where this." She said as she pulled out a t-shirt and pants from a compartment.
"Don't look," Ezra said as he went to the back of the ship to change while Sabine dyed her hair brown again.
Ezra came out and watched her finish dyeing her hair.
"You look beautiful." He said to her.
"You too." She said and laughed.
"Ready to go?" Ezra asked as Sabine put the hair dye away.
"Yes." She replied and opened the back.
"Ready?"
"Ready."
The two walked out hand in hand to the unknown dangers of Lothal.
They walked though the field away from the capital to the meeting spot out a few miles.
"Who do you think will be there?" Sabine asked Ezra, trying to resurface the vision.
"I don't know, but this place still feels like home, the air, the breeze, the lothcats." He said, smiling looking around at the beautiful scenery.
"What do you think Vader did with the Jedi temple here?" Sabine asked.
Ezra collapsed onto his knees and started breathing heavily.
"Ezra?" She asked, worried.
"The temple," he said, clearly engulfed by another vision.
"Ezra!" She said, concerned.
"I'll be fine." He choked out and stood out still dazed. "I remember the vision now."
"You ok?" She asked.
"For now." He answered on an ominous note.
"What did you see?" She asked, wondering if she could help.
"I saw us," he said, painfully, "in the temple, surrounded by stormtroopers. We were there with," he said trying to resurface the memory, "people I don't know the deflectors, probably."
"Got it, avoid the temple." She said, trying to get him to smile.
"It's not that simple, I don't think it was going to happen now," he shook his head. "I don't know, I'll talk to Kanan when we get back." If we get back, his mind added.
They reached the farm where they we going to pick up the rebels. It was burned to the ground, another victim to the empire's evil.
They walked up to the remains of the house.
"Hello?" Sabine asked to the seemingly empty space.
"Yes," a little boy answered and crawled up from the ashes.
"Hi, I'm Sabine and that's Ezra." She pointed to Ezra.
"I'm Ben." The boy answered as two more boys appeared, "that's Owen," he said pointing to the smaller boy," and that's Jedi." He said pointing to the other boy.
"My real name's Jeremy." He said.
"Nice to met you all." She said, nicely.
A older girl came out followed by Ryder Azadi.
"These are my younger brothers, who were supposed to stay back." She said scolding them.
"Ryder Azadi!" Ezra said.
"Ezra," he said, coming up to the boy.
"So this was your mission, finding people who want to leave Lothal for the rebellion." He asked the old man.
"Yes, I happened to know some people, who want to get out of here, these are just a few." He said gesturing to the girl and 3 boys.
Ezra came up and hugged Ryder.
"My have you grown," he said, hugging him back.
"My name is Olivia." The girl said to Sabine, she looked 16ish.
"Nice to met you," she said and shook the girl's hand.
"I just want out of here, me and my brothers have no food, and ever since our parents were," she looked at her brothers and whispered, "executed by the empire we have been barely surviving, and my parents were friend of Ryder's." She finished.
"I'm sorry." Sabine said.
"I miss them but I have to be strong for my brothers but I just can't keep this up forever, I want off this planet, and I'm willing to fight." She said.
"Ezzzie," the youngest brother, Owen, asked "are to you a Jedi?"
"Owen!" The sister scolded.
"I'm not but I happen to know one." He said playing along.
"Who?" The brothers chanted.
Seeing they are not a threat, "his name is Kanan." He said.
"Can we met him?" Jeremy asked.
"Yes," he answered wondering if the boy's nickname met anything.
"I'm sorry." Olivia apologized. "I tell them stories of the Jedi how once 10,000 Jedi knights guarded the peace."
"And they had laser swords, to fight the evil horned sith." Ben finished.
"Does Kanan have a laser sword?" Owen squeaked.
"Yep." Ezra said.
"Horned you don't think?" Sabine asked Ezra and he shook his head.
"Ready to go?" Olivia asked her brothers.
"Yaaaa, Jedi Jedi!!" They chanted.
"You can come with us back to our ship." Sabine told the family.
"Great, bye Ryder!" The girl said and hugged him, "thanks for everything."
"May the force be with you." He answered and waved Sabine and Ezra off.
They crew of 6 made their way back to their ship on Lothal.
