Six
I was panicking. Springtrap and I had been going out for a few month, even had our first kiss, when something unexpected came up.
We were out in the park, having a date. Springtrap sat next to me, nibbling on toast he held in one hand, with the other clinging to my hand. Every few bites or so, he'd lean over and nuzzle my hair.
Then he set down his toast. "Goldie, babe, I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" I ask gently.
He twists his arms around me, making me feel safer. "Sans came to my house a few days ago..."
I turn in his embrace so I could face him. "What happened?"
Something I had never seen before in his eyes was there; pain and sadness. "Sans is two months pregnant with Freddy's child, and no clinic will abort the baby."
Oh. No.
Freddy, what have you done?
I have to break the love spell. I can't have the weight of Springtrap guiltily lusting after the brother of his best friend's rapist. It was wrong to even cast the love spell in the first place.
He kissed the top of my head. "See ya around, okay?"
I kissed him back, on the cheek where there were stitches. Apparently his cheeks had been slashed open by his abusive father and never healed right, so he just stitched his face back together. "Okay. Love you."
"I love you too."
And with that, he walks away.
...
I had just finished making the anti-love spell cupcakes. Once he eats that, the spell will be broken and all guilt will be gone. Or so I hoped.
"Hi, Springy." I greet, hoping I didn't look too guilty.
"Hey, Goldie." he hugs me, giving a light peck on my cheek. His lips are rough.
"I, uh, have something for you." I hold out the cupcake.
"For me?" he asks innocently, taking it and nibbling on it.
"So...how do you feel?"
"It's good, at least, for breaking love spells."
If I had water in my mouth, I would have spit it out. "What?"
"You thought I didn't know? I kinda figured it out a while ago and broke it then."
All those months of dating...that wasn't real?
"I wasn't faking anything, Goldie. All the love spell did was strengthen what was already there."
I look up from the ground. "R-really?"
"I do love you, Goldie. And I mean it."
I tackle him in a hug, laughing joyously. He really did love me.
I love him, too.
