Halloween- 31 weeks

Abby ran out of her room in her PJ masks costume. She was bouncing around and Jessica was laughing at her.

"What are you doing babygirl?"

"I can fly! I'm Owlette!"

"Oh you're so cool."

"I know! Watch this!"

She went to jump off the arm of the couch, which made Jessica's heart drop,but Sam came in and grabbed her.

"Daddy saves the day!"

"Alright Alright time to get your little booty on the bus."

"Awe man, will you walk me today instead of Daddy?"

"Yeah, hold on let me get my shoes."

Jessica waddled over and went to grab her shoes.

"Sam put them on for me, I can't find my feet."

Sam laughed and put them on her. Jessica grabbed Abby's hand and took her outside to the bus.

While they were waiting on the bus Abby looked over at her mother.

"People at my school think that you're not my mommy. They told me I was lying."

Jessica's heart broke for Abby.

"I know I said I couldn't come to your class party today, but how about I do?"

"Really?" Abby's eyes widened.

"Yup!"

"Best day ever!"

When she walked back in she collapsed in Sam's arms.

"They called her a liar."

"Who?"

"They called her a liar for saying I was her mother. Sam I just realized that I don't go to any events at her school, I've stayed busy."

"I know and it's okay."

"No it's not and I'm going to the class party today."

"You want me to go with you?"

"Yes."

Jessica dressed herself and put on a white shirt with a pumpkin on it, her belly filling out the pumpkin. Sam put on beige pants with a button up shirt. Jessica just stared at him as he got dressed.

"Come on Jessie, we still have to go to the store and pick up Halloween candy."

"I know."

After picking up candy they went to Abby's school.

"This is another reason public schooling was a bad idea Sam."

"I know but they'll learn more in a public school."

They walked into the school, holding hands and signed into the office. The secretary was in awe of Jessica and so were the teachers walking past them.

"Why do you get attention when you're out, but I don't?"

"Because if someone gave you attention I'd kill them." Jessica said, before opening the door to the classrooms.

"Mommy!" Abby squealed and ran to Jessica.

The teacher walked over and shook Sam and Jessica's hand.

"It's an honor to meet you Ms. Lange."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, but I'm a Shepard."

Abby was giggling and enjoying Jessica actually being there instead of just Sam.

"From now on I'm going to go to all the events."

"Good. I'm sure she'd love that."

Abby was showing off her brother to everyone. All the other parents were in awe of Jessica, but Jessica ignored them and focused on Abby.
