Chapter One: Skilled ninja
We were in a kingdom getting carried away in absoulte abyss. Beyonce was playing from someone's speakers and my prince was waiting for me on top of said speaker. He had unruly thick hair but his face was always a blur. He held his hand out to me as I walked up to him.
Beyonce haters were screaming at me from left and right acting like a mirror of all my doubts because they said our love was wrong.
Roses with sharp blades tossed in the air and my world literally turned gray and the people got louder and I couldn't take it.
But you see right through me. You stayed in color and without eyes to give me light, your presence did it through it all.
We cut to a scene of me falling. Literally falling. And I heard people calling me crazy because I apparently fell for you. Hard.
They called this love, this obsession suicidal but your love is mine.
You're all I need.
My prince.
I sat up with a start, clutching my chest as my alarm tweeted gently, almost like a bird on a cold winter morning.
I groaned. This is what happens when I wake up at three in the morning to listen to bops by icons. Its hard having a very imaginative brain people, I'm serious.
The inner writer/dancer/vocalist in me quickly wrote down my dream for future references though.
The smell of coffee suddenly invaded my senses which is odd considering how far I am from the kitchen.
And the only one home.
I smile widely in realization and swung my legs over the edge of my bed, easing my feet to the ground.
My toes sank tips first into the plush eggnog-scented and colored carpet. The warmth of it heating me to the core.
I know it may seem odd that my floor smells like eggnog but that's because this really cool candle company in the town hall makes scented floor Accenture's that smell like their candles.
Which I think is really smart because some people maybe can't light candles or the smell may be too strong. Like in a nursing home around the holidays they can sprinkle brown sugar and parsley one near the welcome mat. And then when families come to visit it'll be like thanksgiving in their own home. Even though it's only September.
I smiled even more to myself and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
Once inside, I striped myself of my remaining clothes and opened my clear shower door.
The cold marble and bronze tiles making me hurry to turn the water on.
As I finished up my shower I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face, promptly heading to my closet after to get dressed.
I dried off my body then dressed in skinny-Levi's, they had a couple stitches near the knees and ankles. An oversized gray sweater was a must therefore it was on my torso faster than yiy could say apple nut muffins with a dash of milk (I'm hungry leave me alone)
I finished my moisturizing routine and sprinkled an aroma of cinnamon scented sprits on my neck and wrists. After darting back into the bathroom to look at my hair, I ran some moose product through it a few times until satisfied.
This is it.. I thought as I grab my gray beanie and put it on my head. I opened my door and like a very skilled ninja, scaled the walls with little noise.
"Momma?" I asked cautiously as I make my way through the kitchen doors.
And there she is standing over the stove; making my favorite which I didn't even smell until now. She glances back at me and the look on her face had me speechless. Her eyes held so many emotions as did mine.
"Oh, my baby!!" She cried as she dropped her spatula and covered her mouth. I'm so overwhelmed to the point to where I look like a gaping fish staring at her. Words can't even begin to describe how happy I am right now so I do the most logical thing ( in my opinion). I ran to her full force and buried my head in the crook of her neck, basking in her scent- lemony sweet.
Momma is roughly a couple inches over five feet with honey brown eyes and black hair. She's a half Japanese woman raised in Japan till the start of high school then she moved to Canada. She may look sweet and kind with her florals and trees button up tucked into in Harajuku silk but that women isn't afraid to put the most bigoted people's ego to the ground.
Anyway, at this point we're both a sobbing mess clutching onto each other for dear life. But our moment is soon interrupted by the sound of a deep clearing of someone's throat.
I pull away slightly and look to my right to see my dad standing in the other side of the island staring at us with a his brows dipped in ever so slightly. His eyes were soft and I could tell he'd be crying sooner or later if he wasn't yet.
As his eyes crinkled near the corner with age and happiness, I can't help the cracked sob that breaks from my quivering lips as I cry out his name.
"Papa!!"
He grins widely as I break free from momma and run into his arms. I wrap my arms around torso tightly him doing the same with my neck.
With him being over six foot (-_-) and then some .....(-_-) and I barely an inch above Momma, I stood on my toes to bury my face into the crook of his neck like I did with momma.
Once my head is securely in his neck I take a whiff of his aroma as well; a masculine pine with a faint earthy smell. I smile in delight as tears continued to roll down my cheeks.
"We missed you too baby," Papa murmured with all his heart, his faint Russian accent flowing through my hair to my ears my hair as he kissed my head tenderly.
Papa is from a rural area Russia but moved here to Canada when in the middle of high school. When he was in college, his professor took them all on a trip somewhere and that's where he met momma.
I don't know the full story but I'm sure I will someday.
Momma soon joined in behind me and snuggled into my back while also kissing my head. We were too all caught up in the moment and forgot all about the bacon and chocolate chip pancakes on the stove until the stench of burnt bacon filled our senses. Momma pulled away immediately and her eyes widened in shock.
"Dang nabbits and peas!" she squealed as she rushed to the stove to save the food.
Papa takes his hand and wipes away the remainder of my tears with the pad of his thumb.
"W-what are you doing back? I thought you weren't going to be here for at least two more months" I croaked out as I took a seat.
Papa picked up the spatula momma dropped and threw it in the sink then stood in front of me.
"Well you see Abbey, a friend of ours, from when we were around your age, moved back here from Hawaii and needs a place to stay while they get their new house gets built and whatnot. So, they're going to stay here for a couple months instead of a hotel seeing that they're building a house about fifteen minutes away. Also, why spend money on a hotel when you have friends that are more than welcome to let you stay at their house no charge" He explained.
I let my papa's words sink in, ya know absorb them to see what I'm working with but- "But papa that still doesn't explain why you're here" I reminded him.
He smiled slightly and continued as if he knew I'd ask that. "We're here because we used our friends as an excuse to leave work and stay here with you for a couple months" he answered sheepishly.
"We tried to leave work earlier beforehand but something always came up. This time though, we got lucky and they let us leave since they agreed that we needed to see you and help our friends... also we threatened to quit but that's besides the point!" Momma rejoined after throwing the burnt bacon in the trash and setting up our plates.
I nodded in approval and sighed happily.
~
"So, tell me about this family?" I asked no one. My parents grinned widely and momma was the first to speak.
So, this was chapter 1 and me being the kind person I am left it a cliffhanger😇 anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Byeeeeeeeeee✌🏽
