"So you guys are gonna go on a date?" Nick, Louis' best friend asks.

Louis fidgets in his seat. "Um— I dunno. We haven't really talked about it. He just got my number last night and texted me last night."

"I can see that," Nick smirks. "Wow, it's a goodnight text. He even put a smiley face."

Harry: Hi, Louis! Sorry I'm responding late, I was in the shower. Anyways, goodnight :) I'll text you tomorrow xx

Louis was now at work talking to Nick about Harry. It surprised many people that the blind boy had a job, but his job didn't require much seeing. He was a radio show host with Nick Grimshaw from six in the morning to ten. However, there were blind people that could do almost any job. Louis' heard of a blind man who was once an accountant.

There was a song playing on their station, so Nick and Louis were just chatting away about nonsense.

"Are you gonna send him a good morning text?" Nick teases, wiggling his eyebrows.

Louis rolls his eyes, sensing his playful tone. "No, it's too early. And I'm shy. He can text me first."

"I'll text him for you," Nick offers. "I'm anything but shy."

Louis gasps, reaching for his phone but grasping at air. "Nick, no!"

Nick laughs and scoots his chair back, opening iMessage. Usually, Louis would be furious for someone taking advantage of his blindness, but him and Nick were best friends. They messed around like this all the time. Louis didn't take it personal at all.

"There!" Nick giggles and hands Louis his phone back.

Louis frantically holds his thumb down on where the most recent message in his and Harry's conversation should be. Siri begins to read aloud:

Louis: Good morning Harry! Sorry I didn't say goodnight, I fell asleep early. 😅

Louis cringes. "You used an emoji? I never use those."

Nick grins. "Well I guess you'll have to now."

A short beeping noise went off, alerting them the song was ending soon and they'd have to get ready to be on air again.

"And we're back!" Nick greets as soon as the song is over. "So—"

Nick is cut off by Louis' phone ringing, the younger boy immediately apologizing. "Sorry, sorry."

He's about to end the call until Nick's eyes light up, seeing it's Harry. Nick reaches over and hits the accept button. "I pressed answer."

"Nick!" Louis groans. "Dick," he mutters before holding the phone to his ear. "Um, hi?"

"Hi, Louis," Harry says. "I was just wondering if you wanted a coffee from Starbucks."

Louis is quiet for a moment. "It's six in the morning, Harry."

By now, Louis' microphone is turned off and Nick is telling the latest celebrity gossip.

"And? You're awake," Harry teases.

Louis sighs. "I don't need anything. Thank you, though. It's really sweet."

"I insist," Harry tells him. "Besides, I need an excuse to drop off by your flat."

A smile tugs at Louis' lips. "I'm at work, actually."

"Work?" Harry exclaims. "It's six thirty!"

"I work in radio," Louis explains.

"Oh. Makes sense." Harry is silent for a moment before asking again, "so about that coffee order..."

"Chai tea," Louis finally says.

"Pastry?"

Louis was beyond hungry. There was a lounge to get snacks from, but he was craving a specific Starbucks pastry.

Louis responds quietly, "a cheese danish, please."

"Alright, love," Harry says. "Text me your work address and I'll drop by."

Louis couldn't believe he was slowly becoming smitten for a man who was already calling him pet names.

-

Louis rushed to the entrance of BBC Radio headquarters as soon as Harry let him know he was there. Louis smiled as soon as he got to the entrance. He had the building mapped out in his head.

"Harry?" Louis calls out.

Harry, standing there completely dazed, snapped out of his trance. "Oh, hey, Lou." Harry hands him the tea and pastry, informing him by saying, "here."

Louis sips on the hot beverage, smiling widely afterwards. "Thanks."

Harry grins. "Where's your dog?"

Louis giggles. "I don't take him to work, unfortunately."

"You know this place pretty well, huh?" Harry asks.

Louis shrugs. "I mean, I've been coming here everyday for about three years."

Harry rolls his eyes, laughing. "Funny." Louis tilts his head to the side, chuckling. "Anyways," Harry says. "BBC Radio. Wow, that's amazing. I'll make sure to start listening."

Louis blushes. "Thank you. 'Ve always wanted to work here. It's been a dream of mine."

Harry was about to say something flirtatious until Gemma started calling. "It's Gemma, sorry," Harry apologizes. "Yes?"

Louis waits patiently, then frowns when Harry says, "I thought you didn't open on Sundays? You do now? Um, fine."

After Harry says goodbye, Louis asks, "you have to go?"

Harry sighs. "Unfortunately."

"Oh."

Harry smirks again. "You sound genuinely upset. I'm starting to think you may begin to like me."

Louis rolls his eyes. "So what if I do?" He bites back without thinking. Once he realizes what he's said, his blush deepens.

Harry raises his eyebrows. "Well then. It seems I have to take you on a proper date."

Louis bites the inside of his cheek from his nervousness. "Okay. I'm free... not tomorrow, maybe Tuesday?"

"Definitely," Harry agrees. After a moment of silence, Harry asks, "can I hug you?"

"Yes!" Louis chirps, beaming from the request. "Thank you for asking. So many people randomly touch me and it freaks me out."

Harry chuckles, going in for a quick hug before leaving the premises. "Bye, little one."

Louis was completely lovestruck as Harry walked out the building. He was completely different from when they first met, he was actually sweet and charming. His cologne also smelled wonderful. His thoughts wandered to if he liked being called daddy until Perrie, their receptionist interrupted them.

"Was that Harry Styles?" Perrie asks, her tone clipped.

Perrie and Louis used to be very close, until Perrie started to see a guy called Jason. Louis knew Jason was bad news and cheated on almost every one of his girlfriends. Louis didn't want to stir trouble so he just gave Perrie a light warning. Sadly, Perrie didn't take it too well and they had a falling out.

Louis was startled at first, forgetting Perrie was even there. He then mentally scolded himself. Of course Perrie is there. She's the receptionist she's there all the time. Oh, the things Harry does to me. "Yes," Louis answers. "Why, do you know him?"

Perrie's tone is cold as she responds, "I know of him."

"Well, that's great. " Louis sends a fake smile on her way before attempting to walk back to his work area.

"Louis!" Perrie calls out. Louis huffs, turning around. Perrie bites her lip. "I know we're not on the best terms right now. But, Harry... he's not a good guy."

Louis scoffs, staying quiet for a moment. "So let me get this straight. I warn you about Jason being an unfaithful, lying player and I'm in the wrong. But you seem fit to tell me who is and isn't right for me."

"No, Louis that isn't it at all," Perrie argues. "Jason was a bad guy and cheated, I'll admit that. But you were trying to protect me from emotional pain. Harry... you'll get hurt physically in the end."

Louis scrunches eyebrows together. "What's that even supposed to mean?"

Before Perrie can open her mouth, Nick is walking down the hall.

"Lou, we need you. Fans are calling and want your advice on stuff. Apparently mine doesn't suffice." Nick sighs.

As Louis' carefully dragged down the hallway by Nick, he can't help but wonder what Perrie meant by staying away from Harry.

wow nick is finally a nice guy in one of my fics (well in omega hotline he's nice but i don't think people will like him bc he's slept w harry)

so what do you guys think perrie meant 👀👀👀
