Lafayette POV

I'm in class and the teacher wants that we are both for work.

"So ... Alexander and James Madison." The two aren't looking at each other.

"Eliza and Charles." Wow, and then what?

"Angelica and Peggy." Both sister are lucky.

"Samuel and Hercules." Poor Samuel.

"Lafayette and Aaron." Quoi ??????? Noooooon everyone except him. WHY?

"Thomas and Maria." Pff.

"James Reynolds and Laurens." Mon ami good luck.

"You have to work in pairs, but if you don't finish in class you must finish it at home for tomorrow."

Everyone is getting ready to go to their partner's table. Burr takes his chair to get closer to my table.

"Hi Marquise de Lafayette." He says with a smile. I don't answer it and avoid his eyes. He puts a sheet on my table.

"We have to do these crosswords together." He says. I still don't answer him. He sighs and sits in his chair.

"I know I'm the last person you want to see," He says in a calm voice. It's the first time I heard him speaking like that, but I don't know him anyway.

"But I don't want you to don't do this exercise because of me." He continues. I look at him and he smiles at me.

"Made as if I were another person. Let's try to hear us at least for once on something and we can act as if nothing had happened, if you want. " He says in a reassuring voice. I take time, but I accept.

We work and when I look at it, I have the impression to see Alexander. He thinks a lot and when he doesn't understand, there are several times to think. I found some words he didn't find. It remains to find a word and Aaron can't find it.

"I can't . You have an idea Marquise de..." I cut him.

"You can call me Lafayette to make it shorter."

"Thank you Lafayette." It's weird to hear him just say "Lafayette", but I think I'm wrong about him, he's nice.

"I think the last word is friends" I say smiling at him
