Amanda Pov

So I was just tidying a couple of bits around the house as Danny was going to meet Toby that day, (though I had to remember to not call Toby, well Toby since he's my legal Dad, well my illegally name changed legal Dad, but you get the gist of things here), (aka Toby is no longer Toby so if I call him Toby, we're monumentally fucked here), (is that confusing?, because if it is then I am so sorry about that).

"Not that I don't appreciate it, but why are you cleaning the house Clara?"
"Because you're meeting Danny today, so please remember to call me Amanda or a nickname of Amanda, as he doesn't know about that situation at all"
"You didn't ask if I was free today"
"Yeah well I didn't ask you about that as I checked your actual calendar and I saw that you were actually free today, plus if I asked you and you weren't free, you would've told me that you were free anyway"

Toby just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms after I said that, like one would if you were scolding a child for doing something that they're not supposed to do or something along those lines, though I knew that it coming from Toby, it wasn't meant in that way, he's just Toby, (and honestly I know it's all in banter in reality).

"Yeah well I'd tell you that because I would free up that time up for you Clara, ya know"
"You can't just drop meetings at a drop of a hat though Toby, as that could be seen as unprofessional"
"I actually can do that Clara since I'm the boss there, but I guess it makes you feel better if I don't do that, even if it's for you Darling"
"Yes it does make me feel better Toby, you flexing your power like that just doesn't feel right to me, ya know"
"(Snorts), If that's flexing my power, you would hate it when I actually do that"
"Yes I would hate that so much"
"Ok, I won't, unless you need me to, I promise"
"Ok, I can accept that"
"I'm glad about that Kiddo"

Anyway an hour and a whole lot of cleaning later, well Danny was at the front door, so I opened it and let him in, because ya know, he was meeting Toby, (which was a feat in itself since Toby's fucking over protective of me), (like any Dad would be of his daughter let's be honest).

"Hi"
"Hi, uh, come in, I'll get my Dad, Dad!"

Toby then waltzed down the stairs like a vampire that had been around since 1796, (yes I know that it's fucking oddly specific and shot, but I'm just telling it as it was, ya know mate), like he had a red sleeping robe and everything, (which was a very specific vibe, though I was living for it to be honest with you here, though I wasn't gonna tell Toby that as he has a big enough head already, ya know).

"Who are you calling D?-"
"Danny's here ya Numskull"
"Oh right, that makes sense, I should've known that, uh, have you invited Danny in yet?"
"Yes I did, it felt weird leaving him out there as I asked him to meet you"
"Cool cool, I'm coming, don't worry"
"(Snorts)"
"Oh piss off with your dirty mind ya minger"
"Gladly Daddyo"

Toby then went into the living room, because that was where the front door was, (I know that I'm not great at explaining things here but cut me some slack here, ok, I'm a noob, a very booby noob, but a noob nevertheless, ya know), I then opened the door for Danny to come in.

"Danny, this is my Dad, Dad this is Danny, no he's not my bio Dad as you can very well tell, and yes he's only a few years older than I am as we met in foster care, but he's always mother henned me from day 1 so it made sense for him to adopt me"

So after that we all had dinner together, as you do, and actually it wasn't anywhere near as disastrous as I thought it was gonna be, (since I usually couldn't cook for shit and Toby is Toby and can be a stubborn arsehole, ya know), (though he's still a loveable stubborn arsehole, just don't tell him that I said that, as his head doesn't need to get any bigger than what it is already).

Danny went home a couple of hours after we had dinner as he had work in the morning, (and he was not an insomniac, so he would actually be tired in the morning if he didn't sleep properly, ya know).
