Chapter 2

T.W. Mentions of inconsiderate people (really, nothing at all.)

Virgil frowned and looked at the two friends. He knew of Logan's ex, he wasn't a good person, but he never did anything that could be considered 'bad' to Logan whilst they were together. They were a happy couple, but people didn't really know they were together until after they broke up, well, people except Roman and Virgil, since Logan told them everything. It was only after they broke up that things began to go downhill.

His ex was the one to out him to the entire school, including his sister, who asked him about it, and soon outed Logan to his parents, it's safe to say that they didn't talk to one another for a while after that.

His ex then tried to get him fired from his job and expelled from school for something he didn't do. He claimed that Logan was threatening him with 'pictures'. Everyone knew what that meant, and for a while, Logan was ridiculed for being that kind of person, even though he never did anything of the sort.

His parents, along with Roman and Virgil, soon got involved. Roman and Virgil soon set the rumours straight (gay) and fixed everything that was being said about Logan, and his parents got his ex suspended, and he had charges pressed against him for a 'video' he threatened to leak. He would have gone to jail for possession of child pornography if they hadn't checked it out.

After everything had been fixed, he was gone for a year, and it was easier for Logan to settle back down, but he knew his ex would be back. In that year, he grew closer to his friends, and they became rather popular since people knew of everything, and since then, people knew them, and they knew other people. They weren't all friends, but they were able to talk when they wanted.

Along the way, Patton became more involved in their lives, which made things simultaneously easier and harder for Virgil when it came to his feelings for him. He knew there was a chance he could talk to Patton easier, but it all seemed like too much, and he was risking losing a friend. He then knew how Roman and Logan felt when it came to confessing.

"His suspension ended, and I spoke to my sister this morning. I didn't want her to follow me like that, but when I was talking to Virgil, I saw him and I didn't want him to try and talk to me, so I had to walk away. She saw me, and followed, making sure I was okay."

"Are you?" Virgil spoke up, frowning when Logan didn't look up at him, or acknowledge he spoke for a few minutes.

"No. I am not." Logan looked up, and met Virgil's gaze, smiling sadly. "I hate this. I want to leave everything behind, but he never makes it easy. I've seen him around town a few times, and normally he ignores me, but there are times he talks to me. Or..." Logan trailed off, and Virgil reached over to take his hand gently.

"What happened?" Roman spoke softly, and Logan shuddered.

"He would come into work once a week, same day, same time, and he'd talk to me. I tried to talk to the manager, and tell her he was harassing me, but she wouldn't listen, and I would dread going to work. He still shows up and lurks, but he doesn't try to keep me from work until I go on my break, and then I don't know what to do."

"Have you told your parents?"

"No! How can I tell them that my ex is stalking me at work? They'd make me quit, and I need the money, I can't lose my job. I need it..."

"Logan, wouldn't you rather be safe?" Roman spoke up.

"I am safe. As long as I don't leave until after he has, I am safe."

Virgil opened his mouth to reply but was silenced when Patton came over and sat at their table like he usually did.

"Is everything okay?" Patton spoke up, and Virgil nodded.

"Yeah. I think."

Patton nodded and turned to have a small conversation with Roman, leaving Virgil and Logan to their thoughts until the teacher came in.
