Six Feet Under

Three days after my date with Paris, he didn't show up to school.

Needless to say, I was disappointed. I sat in art class, working on my project with a slight pout on my face, but Caspian seemed to be in a fairly good mood as he glanced to me, saying quietly, "Good morning, Audrey."

I glanced over, blinking. "Good morning, Caspian. Do you know where Paris is today?"

He pauses, then shook his head, smile fading. Returning to his work, his pencil pressed hard to the paper. "...no, I'm afraid I haven't seen him. He's probably just sick. People get sick all the time."

I sighed, considering. "Yeah...I suppose so. I hope he isnt six feet under or something. He's just really fun to talk to."

Caspian looked over eagerly, brown eyes sparkling. "I can be fun to talk to! What do you want to talk about?"

I was surprised at his sudden interest, so I laughed. "Well- I don't know. What was your cheapest first date?"

He blinked, startled and then puzzled by the question. "um...well. I haven't ever been on one. I'm saving my dates for someone who I think I need to be mine more than anyone in the world."

I paused, remembering how he asked me to date him instead of Paris only a few days ago, studying him. "...right. Fair enough."

He looked away, and I smiled. "Okay. The next rules of the game are than you now have to ask me a hard question. It's like truth or dare, but only truth."

He blinked slowly, intrigued. "...okay. Ah..." he studied me, and I couldn't help but feel like he was staring directly into my soul with those eyes I found so interesting. "...How long have you lived here?"

I paused, peeking at him. "Um, about two years. I moved from a really small town. I didn't even know there were more than three religions until I came here."

He looked surprised, laughing slightly. "...Oh? Where did you move from?"

I tsked, brushing my hair behind my ear. "It's my turn to ask a question, Casper."

He was still just watching me, eyes intent on my face. I blinked, realizing I couldn't think of one. "....what's...your favorite past time?"

He paused, considering for a long moment. "I really like murder shows."

I blinked, then grinned. "Oh, thats cool. I really like watching youtubers."

He tilted his head. "Which ones?" His hair spilled over his shoulder, and i wrinkled my nose. I never really liked long hair. He noticed my gaze, blinking, and hesitantly ran his hand along it. "...What?"

I sighed. "Nothing...I just don't really like long hair. It's the opposite of my type." I turned away, sketching a big blue line along my art page, and Caspian was quiet for the rest of the class, our game forgotten.
