Five Below
"We should go shopping."
I glanced up in surprise. Paris was looking at me with a smile on his face, and Caspian looked up at the same time, frowning. I blinked. "What?"
Paris smiled wider, tilting his head. "Yeah. We can get a bunch of snacks, go hang out somewhere, y'know. Maybe it can even be a date?"
A pencil snapped in Caspian's hand.
I looked over in surprise, but he was staring hard at Paris, who just smiled at him. "You okay, there, Caspian?"
Caspian inhaled slowly, gaze darting to me, and then looked away. "Audrey, don't date him."
I blinked, then arched a brow. "What? Why not?"
Paris had his eyes narrowed now, leaning forward. "Yeah, Caspian, why not?? You don't even know me, I'm new here."
Caspian inhaled, ignoring Paris and staring directly at me. "I just don't think it's a good idea. You...you should date me, instead."
I froze in surprise, my mouth falling open and closing repeatedly, and then I finally just blurted a laugh.
Both Caspian and Paris frowned. "What's funny?" Paris asked, brows furrowed.
I couldn't stop giggling. "I wasn't gonna date either of you, dummies--but, Paris, I'd love to go shopping with you, if you still want to--"
Caspian had a faint, pissed-off expression, but Paris just smirked haughtily. "...sounds perfect."

"Five Below?" I said, staring up at the sign above the store. Paris stood with his hands on his hips, grinning.
"Yup. everything in there is five dollars or less."
I rolled my eyes, but smiled. "Sounds like a perfect first date."
He looked to me in surprise, lifting his eyebrows. "I thought you didn't want to date me??"
I took his hand, pushing the door open and tugging him into the store. "I just said that so a fight wouldn't break up. Mind you, this does not mean I'm your girlfriend, mk? This is just one date."
He was grinning stupidly. "Okay."
I giggled a little, looking around. "Ooh, this store is pretty. I like it here."
He hummed, already getting over his shock and walking happily beside me. "Glad you do. snacks are this way."
We headed in that direction, but then I stopped and laughed, letting go of his hand to run down an aisle and grab a stuffed giraffe, smiling happily. Paris followed, blinking and rubbing his fingers gently. I held it out to him. "Look! It's so cute. I'm going to name it Geronimo."
He blinked, then laughed. "That's an adorable name."
I nodded. "I know. He's on the run, though. Geronimo Longneck. Wildest criminal in the whole wild west. See--?" I pointed to the little cowboy hat settled on the giraffe's head.
Paris grinned. "Mhm. What crimes has he done?"
I looked to him seriously. "Double homicide."
He blinked. "Damn."
I nodded, tucking Geronimo under my arm and heading down the isle toward the snacks. "Anyway. I want those coke gummies."
He nodded and saluted, grinning. "Aye, aye."
