Chapter 18

It was dark. The Stylo pulled into the driveway, but before the bassist and the singer could exit the car the front door swung open. Noodle and Russel stood in the doorway. Murdoc exited the car and 2d shyly followed. They walked up to the two standing in the doorway.

"What?" Murdoc asked, not bothered by them.

"Kitchen." The drummer replied sternly. Then he and Noodle turned and walked. 2d and Murdoc reluctantly followed. 2d was a bit stressed, he didn't know why Noodle and Russel were angry. When they entered the kitchen they saw the two sitting at the table next to each other.

"Sit." Noodle said equally sternly. Murdoc and 2d took the chairs opposite them, sitting side by side. 2d was slouching a bit and playing with his fingers on the table, while Murdoc leaned back and crossed his legs, resting his hands behind his head.

"Where the hell have you been?" Russel complained like an angry father.

"And do you know how late it is?" Noodle added like an angry mother.

"Stop acting like parents." Murdoc rolled his eyes. "Why do we have to explain ourselves to you?" He sat up and placed his hands on his knees.

"Because we're your friends and you don't tell us anything." Russel said.

"No." Murdoc cut in. "We tell you we're leaving every time we go somewhere. It's your own fault for not listening. We're not keeping any secrets from you." He said with a shrug.

"Fine." Noodle stated, still angry. "Then where were you today?"

"At the bar." 2d spoke up with a static face expression. "I have proof." He pointed to his hickey. Noodle glared at him.

"Then what's her name?" She asked. 2d blushed and looked down, remembering what really happened.

"I... I don't know..." he stammered.

"You should be ashamed of yourself." Noodle stated.

"Hey. Stop treating him like a kid." Murdoc stepped in. "He can fuck whoever the fuck he wants. When you're out in the bar names don't matter." Noodle then glared at him.

"2d I noticed you're limping again. Why is that?" It was Russel's turn to ask a question.

"I-I fell down the stairs." The singer clumsily replied.

"In a bar?" Russel questioned.

"No, here." Murdoc replied for him, gesturing the stairs.

"Then how come we didn't hear it?" Noodle questioned, getting suspicious.

"Because you were bloody glued to the tv!" Murdoc raised his voice.

"Whoa man calm down." Russel said. Murdoc leaned forward in a man spread position, pretending to be holding his hands under the table. But in reality one of his hands moved over to 2ds knee. The singer flinched and blushed.

"Why do you two go out to the bar so much anyway?" Noodle questioned. "You're never home." She crossed her hands.

"So first you complain that we fight too much and then that we're too friendly with each?" Murdoc argued, his hand moving up 2ds thigh. The singer leaned his elbows on the table and hid his red face in his hands.

"It's not that." Russel said. "We just get worried when you're out too long. We know that you two don't get along and it's scary to think that at some point only one, or neither, might come home."

"You have no faith in us." Murdoc rolled his eyes. "We're actually pretty good friends." 2d bit his lip as Murdocs hand finally reached its destination. He groped the singer, teasing him.

"What's your definition of 'good friends' Murdoc?" Noodle was slightly upset. "Because as far as I'm concerned every time you two go out 2d returns hurt in one way or another and it's mostly your fault." Murdoc thought for a moment while still touching up the singer who was squeezing his hand with his thighs, telling him to stop.

"Well, I can't help myse-"

"You use that excuse every time!" Russel pointed out.

"Maybe he's just jealous of my good looks." 2d joked, looking up. Murdoc hand left the singers thighs and traveled up to smack him across the head.

"Ah, shut up!" He complained. "No one asked you."

"See!" Noodle shouted. "That's exactly what I'm talking about! You abuse him too much!"

"What am I supposed to say?" Murdoc argued. "It's just the way I am! He says stupid shit so I hit him!"

"And you're trying to tell us that you two are fine when both of you are drunk? Don't think so." Russel stated. Murdocs hand was about to return to what it was doing when 2d suddenly stood up.

"Well," he said. "I'm getting really tired so I'm going to go to bed. It's been a long day so, please, if you could, don't disturb me today and let me sleep tomorrow." Noodle sighed.

"Ok, go rest." The singer smiled then headed upstairs.

"Well, I'm off too then." Murdoc stood up and left the kitchen. Noodle and Russel just stayed where they were, trying to figure out what to do with these two.

---

Murdoc walked down the corridor in the opposite direction of his bedroom. He opened the door and waltzed right into 2ds room, surprised to find it empty. Where did that dullard go? He said he was going to sleep. He checked the joint bathroom. Empty. Confused and kinda frustrated Murdoc shut the door and walked back to his bedroom. He opened the door.

"Hi Mudz. What took you so long?" 2d sat on the bed in just his pants and Murdocs shirt on. The bassist stared at him.

"What? I was literally looking for you right now..." he was slightly confused.

"Well, where else would I be if not waiting for you?" Murdoc sighed and climbed into the bed next to the singer. He grabbed his face with one hand and pulled it close, he felt like he wanted to say something, but he just didn't know what... so the singer said it for him. "I love you..." they leaned in and kissed. Not long after falling asleep in each other's arms.

I love you. Like you. You. Reading this. Right now.

I'm just tired and sad, hence the weird talk. But yeah, thanks for being here.
