Summer's POV

Finally, we reached my condominium and I dropped off Charli and Lotte in the lobby before parked my car in the parking lot.

I smiled while I was walking back to the lobby. Charli was holding my sleeping Lotte, smiling and caressed Lotte's head in a motherly way.

"Come on, pass her to me," I offered as I stretched my hands toward Lotte. Charli gingerly carried Lotte toward me as I carried her in my arms.

Charli used her fist to gently hit her forearms and joked, "Perhaps her weight slightly gained after she ate a lot just now." I rolled my eyes and she chuckled at me.

We didn't talk much during the journey back from Disneyland because Charli sat in the backseat for taking care of sleeping Lotte while I was driving.

I was thinking tonight was the right time for us to talk. The sound of the dinge of the elevator broke my inner thought and we already arrived. When we were reaching the doorstep of my unit, I said the passcode to Charli softly, "0229"

Charli's blue eyes slightly widened and asked, "Huh?"

I chuckled as I tilted my chin to the doorknob and said louder, "It's 0229."

Her face slightly flushed and stuttered, "O-okay," she quickly did as I told and the door unlocked.  

We entered my suite 'our suite if she back to me', she surveyed around in awe and I shut the door closed behind us.

"Have a seat and treat it as your home. I need to tug in Lotte."

She back to my attention as she shoved her hands into her jeans pocket and nodded her head "Okay,"

She continued to look around the living room as I brought Lotte back to her bedroom to help her quick shower and tugged her into bed to sleep.

I laughed when I back to the living room because Charli sat in the middle of the couch awkwardly. "So, you make yourself as a newbie here, huh?" I teased

She rolled her eyes and chuckled, "I still have to be a polite guest since this is my first visit to your place," she smiled, "Your suite is spacious," 

"Thanks," I said and walked in front of her, gently held her hands to pull her on her feet, "Let's get a shower and we'll spend our time in here later,"

I saw her face was turning in crimson and I just realized I had to emphasize my words. "I mean, we will get a shower separately," she laughed in embarrassment.

"Let's go, I'm taking you to the guest room," I said while holding a hand of hers and started walking.

"Okay," she said timidly and followed me.

When we reached the guest room, I said, "So, this is the room you'll sleep in tonight, and here has an attach bathroom for you."

Maybe you'll sleep next to me in my room later.

"I'll bring new clothes to you later while you're having your shower." I indicated to the laundry basket which was placed near the bathroom door "You can leave your clothes here later." she nodded her head.

"I'll see you later," I winked at her.

She grinned, "Okay."

I left her alone in the guest room and took my sweet time to pick a pair of cute Pajamas for her. I finally found a set of white satin with Pokka dot pajamas.

We almost spent close to an hour watching a funny cooking TV show, I had no idea why Charli was so into that show.

We were having a second bottle of wine, and I was thinking about how to start our talk. I always worried the topic would trigger her when we reached some point and made her leave me.

However, she already calmed me down during these few days. She didn't seem like holding the grudge but I swear I had been shattered her heart into pieces.

I still remembered the hatred of her eyes on me before she said something to me. Even though the words she said were hurting me, but also I could see how hurtful she was.

When I turned to her, I was admiring her side profile. She was focusing on the boring lady cooking show. I saw her face was reddened after the alcohol and I spotted the second bottle of wine already emptied. I thought it was time for us to open up before we get drunk and slipped away.  

I leaned closer to her and used my index finger to press the side of her chin to tilt her face me "So, u prefer to watch the older lady than this gorgeous right in front of u?" I teased with a smirk.

She laughed heartily, "I'm learning, silly. I like her show."

I chuckled "Okay, then fine by me. So, you're interested in her cooking skill." I joked "Then you're interested in this." I used my finger to point at me.

She rolled her eyes with a smile, "You know better than me."

I climbed over to straddle on her lap and giggled "Are you finished your learning?" I asked nicely and cupped her face.

She hummed, "Yup, she just done cooking." she replied with her sweet smile as she held my hips and she looked into my eyes.

We locked our eyes for a few beats before gradually closed our eyes. We were catching our breathing while I leaned in closer and our lips were merely touched, but she mumbled, "Wait, we need to-"

"No," I said firmly.

She gently caressed my face with a hand and asked softly, "Can you tell me what had happened to you?"

I inhaled quietly and tried to suppress my tears before shared my nightmare with her. I asked, "Are you ready for this?"

She nodded her head and said, "Yes, please."

I sighed, "That day Miguel found me before I went back to your apartment. I already decided to break up with him, but he told me we need to talk and I agreed went back to his place."

I shut my eyes and said, "That was the most regretful thing I had done." I felt Charli gently caressed my face as I continued, "He showed me the pictures of you and I's after we reached his place. He threatened me that he will let his boss own you for clear his debts if I didn't help him,"

I clenched my jaw, "That bastard gambled and owed huge debts, I offered my house to him for letting him leave you alone." I felt Charli started wiping off my tears with her thumbs as I sniffed softly, "That bastard wanted me to work for him and break up with you. I have to leave you for your good." 

"I'm sorry," I heard Charli said with her quivering voice and she pulled me into a hug. My neck was dampened with her tears as I rested my chin on the top of her head.

"I'm so horrible to you," she said with her crack voice and I shushed her, "No, I wanted to keep you away from the trouble."

She pulled away from me and said in frustration, "I was too dumb to believe that you hurt me. You always told me you will always protect me. How could I be so negligent about it,"

I said, "Don't blame yourself, Charli. That was not what I want. All I want is you be safe."

"At least we could figure out together if you tell me behind of the story that day, Summer," she sighed.

I shook my head and smiled weakly at her, "Miguel wasn't a typical man, he worked as a mafia and drug dealer and he was a snake. We can't fight with this kind of person."

Charli sighed in frustration and I cupped her face, "Hey, at least I'm breathing and fine now."

She sighed as she wiped off her tears with a hand and another hand gently caressed my face, "What has happened last few years?"

"I had been through from hell. I had attempted to escape from him after he abused me for a week. He didn't take it well after he caught me, and I had to live in hell with him for about three months and he got killed by the mafia."
