Scott left the small cottage early in the morning, knowing that Jimmy was sleeping soundly inside. Sure, they both hated sleeping without each other but Scott had to meet someone.

He smiled at the sight of Joel, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

"Good morning," he greeted, Joel smiled and held them out.

"Hey, I know you said to bring rings but these are cultural." Scott took the flowers, seeing that they were water lillies. "In the Ocean empire, they propose with water lillies. Flowers have a lot of meaning to the fish hybrids, water lillies especially are for proposals. Even if Jimmy doesn't remember his heritage, it still would be nice."

Scott looked over the flowers. He didn't know they had that many meanings. "How do you know so much?"

Joel looked away, face turning red. "I've been learning the history of the Ocean empire for years. Flowers is a gift that they love. It may not be the number one selling kingdom of flower products but they adore getting them." Scott knew that it wasn't the reason Joel knew so much. It had to be because of his courting with Lizzie. "I had these delivered from House Blossom, the best producers of flowers. I have a connection with the princess there and she had specifically chosen these out. Blue is for calm, wisdom and recovery, yellow is for energy and fresh starts, and the red is for romance and passion. So not only is it a proposal boquet but it is perfect for healing as well."

Scott looked down at the flowers. He hoped that maybe the flowers could heal Jimmy even if they were just plants. They could ensure a speedy recovery and energy for their fresh start.

"But, I also do know that in the elven tradition, it is jewlery of the gods that is intended for proposals." Joel reached into his pocket, pulling out a larger box. Opening it, two necklaces with the face of a doe dear, crystals of different colors were in the eyes. One was gray and the other was cyan.

"Where did you get these? I thought Rivendell was destroyed..." Scott whispered, reaching out to touch the twin necklaces. It was the traditional elven proposal necklaces for royals.

"Like I said, I have connections. Talked to another princess to see what she could do and she got these made especially for the two of you. Said the doe is the goddess of love and fertility, the eyes are the color of the two getting married."

"Roea...." Scott felt tears come to his eyes. Like Aeor, she was a protector but she protected families. She was minor compared to Aeor but Scott still prayed to her all the same. He looked back up to Joel, a wide smile gracing his lips and tears running down my cheeks. "This is perfect, thank you so much."

Joel smiled back, closing the box and handing it over to Scott. But he pulled out another box.

"I know that should be all I should be getting you guys and stuff but for your wedding, I talked to Ben."

Scott remembered Ben, they were Jimmy's personal guard years ago. He suddenly realized that Ben was supposed to arrive at the kingdom the day it was destroyed.

"They were there in the kingdom, right after the destruction. I found them next to the toppled over Aeor statue. They found these." Joel opened the smaller box, two rings shinning lightly in the light of the sunrise.

A pink sea shell and antler ring sat inside.

"Our rings..." Scott felt the emotions run through himself again. He remembered just being a kid when Jimmy had given him the sea shell ring and he had exchanged it with his Aeor ring of protection. They didn't know it but the rings were quiet proclaimations of love, promises that they would live together, happily ever after.

And they were on the road to happily ever after.

Scott had put the boxes in the pockets of his shorts before leaving Joel with another heart felt appreciated thank you and walking back to the cottage.

He stashed the objects away. He knew the flowers wouldn't wither, Katherine wouldn't let them.

Now he needed to come up with an idea to confess his everlasting love to the most handsome and kindest man he had ever met.

(Proposal time????? Also, we love Joel for being the big brother hero again and going through all this effort to make it perfect for the two, they really deserve it also sorry, yes this is super short but ive gotta plan a proposal chapter *cue the evil laughter*)
