Zero's POV ♾

After a few days later had passed, I was in the cafeteria eating breakfast, still happy about the news I heard about Sonic forgiving and letting me join the resistance since I didn't know what to do or have anywhere else to go.

I still didn't trust them a little but I was warming up to them and starting to become a social butterfly.

"Hey, Infinite? I believe that this would be really good news for you as well but I happened to overhear, at the infirmary, that Gadget's starting to gain consciousness." Silver mentioned to me.

"Really!?" I asked as my eyes lit up with joy and excitement.

Silver nodded.

"I'll head on over and visit him to see how he is..." I say before finishing the rest of my breakfast, throwing the trash away, and hurrying out of the cafeteria as I said "See ya later!" to Silver.

As soon as I was out in the hallway, I began running to the infirmary as fast as I could go before arriving.

I went in and sighed a little bit as I walked over to the bed where Gadget was lying at before pulling up a chair and sitting down in it.

I looked over at Gadget, seeing that his eyes were still shut while he was still breathing normally.

Much to my surprise, he still had his bracelet on from the day I helped him put it on when we both confessed our love to each other and became lovers.

For a while, Gadget was still like this as I was waiting, in hope that he'll wake up sooner.

As a few more hours had passed, I was about to give up on hope until I saw Gadget move a little as he groaned.

I started to feel tears appearing and running down to the sides of my face as Gadget slowly opened his eyes a little before blinking a bit.

"Zero? Is...that you?" Gadget murmured as he looked over at me, before reaching over and putting his glasses on.

I nodded before we pulled each other into a tight hug.

"Yes, my love...It's me." I whispered in his ear before I buried my face into his neck and started crying for a bit.

Like how a mother would do, Gadget pulled me closer and started shushing me gently while rubbing my back soothingly.

"It's okay. Everything's okay now, Zero." He says to me in a comforting voice.

I noticed his voice cracked a little as he was comforting me.

Then we eventually parted after we gave each other a long hug.

Gadget smiled warmly at me as I sniffed a little before he wiped my tears away.

"You're not gonna believe what happened to me after you were knocked unconscious before going into a coma." I said as Gadget held my hand.

"Go on ahead and tell me, I want to hear all about it. You can go into detail if you wanna." Gadget says.

I nodded before I began to tell him everything.

From the "suddenly started hyperventilating" part to being released from the infirmary to what happened at the cafeteria...Including the whole interrogation thing.

After I told everything to Gadget, his face was filled with shock and surprise as he sat there, speechless about the events that's happened to me the last few days ago until now.

"I'm really glad that they've forgiven you and allowed you to join the resistance, Zero. I was worried for a moment there and knew that it would be suicide to break in and help you escape if everyone didn't forgive you and sent you off to prison instead." Gadget commented before sighing in relief.

I smiled and nodded in agreement before I pulled Gadget over to me, gently, and kissed him deeply.
