Aaron Burr

NOT MY FANART!

Helloooooooooooo! Welcome to a new chapter! Hope y'all enjoy it.

Burr opened his eyes. Strange. He looked around, not recognizing his surroundings in the slightest. He stood up and tensed when he heard an all too familiar voice behind him.

"Well, if it isn't Aaron Burr, sir."

Burr spun on his heels and made eye contact with the one and only, Alexander Hamilton.

The man who he had shot and killed in cold blood all those years ago.

His biggest rival.

His mortal enemy.

And his oldest, best, friend.

Alex had a smile on his face as he leaned against a wall.

Burr eyed him cautiously. This could all be a trap, or hallucination...or both.

Hamilton just smiled at him, "Welcome Burr." There was no anger in his eyes, no yearning for revenge. Just a welcoming look.

That didn't make Burr any less uneasy though, "At ease Burr, I forgave you a long time ago." There was no lie in Alexander's voice. No hint that he wasn't being honest. He truly had forgiven him.

Burr gave him a tiny smile and a nod. "Alexander, for what it's worth. I truly am sorry-" Burr tried to say but was interrupted by Alex raising up and hand and shushing him.

"Burr."

Aaron (that seems so wrong to call him Aaron eww) sucked in a breath, "Yes?"

"Talk less. Smile more." A smug smile on Alexander's face as he repeated the words Burr had told him the day they met.

Burr let a small smile come to his face upon hearing the words he had said oh so long ago.

"Alexander." He started. Walking over to the man.

"Hm?"

"I am so sorry." He mumbled. Lowering his head in shame.

Alexander rested his hand on the older man's shoulder. Which made the older man glance up at him.

"It's ok Burr. Truly. I would have done the same thing. You did it for your daughter."

Burr still looked guilty which made Alexander sigh.

"Burr, you lived so you could see your daughter, I died so I could see my son."

Burr's eyes widened. Alexander was right.

Burr nodded slowly. A small smile came across his face. Hamilton truly had forgiven him. Everything was going to be ok.

"Now. I believe there are a few folks who'd like to see you again." Alex said. Putting his hand on Aaron's shoulder and leading him somewhere.

Burr gasped as he saw both his daughter and the love of his life. "Theodosia...both of you.." He said, voice barely above a whisper. Tears stung his eyes as both women raced to him. Tackling him in a huge hug.

"Dad! You're finally home!" His daughter yelled.

Alexander stood happily from the side. Watching the long overdue family reunion.

He was all too shocked when Burr stood up and embraced him.

"Thank you, Alexander." He whispered into the shorter man's ear. There was so much left unspoken in those three little words.

"No, thank you, Burr," Alex replied. Hugging the man back with a small, proud, smile on his face.

Yeah, they had their disagreements, but at the end of the day, they weren't all that different. It was all worth it in the end.
