Akira's Backstory: Akira is like Blade, who had parents that managed to escape the horrible fate of planet Vegeta and lived on some other planet away from Frieza's radar. But when a strange man attacks the planet she's on, her parents quickly send her away to another planet, which happens to be Earth. She was later adopted by Bulma and met Nathan and the others, she quickly bonded with Blade, the two becoming siblings immediately, and she became rivals with Shizu and Nathan, mostly Shizu. She does feel, something, for Nathan but she isn't clear on what it is just yet, hopefully she'll be able to figure it out soon.
