Today I was going to do a good thing. I was going to help Mr.Smiley at Funland. Steven had told me how they were really short staffed and of course I had noticed it but I just really didn't think much of it. Since the gems had important things to tend to they wouldn't be around the house today and Steven and Connie were going to the movies so what better way to keep myself busy then to work. Besides it beats laying around the house all day.
I walked up to board work and searched for Mr.Smiley. I spotted him by the roller coaster and ran over.
" hey Mr.Smiley" I yelled as I walked up to him " I'm here to help you out around here" I propped my hand on my hip and smiled. 'Does he always have that creepy looking smile on his face' I raised an eyebrow at him. " ahh thank you it's been getting busier by the day and i don't know what I would have done with out" he shook my hand " you can monitor the rollercoaster" he said pointing to the spot which I would be standing. "Alright sounds easy enough" I said walking over to the spot. He walked off to what I could only assume was another post. 'That guy really needs to sleep' I turned my attention to the people lining up to ride the ride. I had a feeling it was going to be a long week.

Garnet's pov

I had felt a lot better with the results of our last fight. It wasn't so much as us trying to get the upper hand on each other but as us in a friendly boxing match. It pleased me. I still felt the warmth from when she grabbed my hand. "Hey garnet" I looked over at a usual happy Steven "hello Steven, I see your back from the movies and you've brought your friend Connie" acknowledging connie's presence. "He-hello Garnet, we were just coming back so Steven could make k a lunch" she said cheerful. I turned my attention to Steven in the kitchen "why are you making a lunch for k" I asked curiously. Steven was already getting the bread and mayo out. "Well k stopped by earlier but all the gems were out on a mission so she said she was going to go help Mr.Smiley down at Funland" he said while grabbing a knife to spread the mayo. "Steven, k doesn't like mayo" I said adjusting my glasses, thanks to my future vision I could tell k wasn't going to be pleased with mayo on her sand which but would gladly eat it any way to avoid hurting steven's feelings. "OH! Oh geez" he quickly put the mayo away and grabbed some mustard "does she like mustard" he asked hoping that he had made a good choice. I nodded to his question "how'd you know she didn't like mayo" Connie asked sitting herself on the stool. "Well, i knew because of my future vision it allows me to see infinite possibilities of what could happen in the future" I said in a nonchalant voice. She nodded with me as if understanding me. She was very smart so I knew she probably had understood. " All done," Steven said cheerfully. He had made two sandwiches cut in halves. "Garnet do you think she'll like them. I smiled "of course Steven," I said standing to walk to the warp "oh garnet!" He said frantically as I turned to look at him he was twiddling his thumbs "do you think...that maybe you see in possibilities in the future where you maybe...go with us" Connie looked at me in agreement to what Steven had said. I nodded "well I do see a single possible future where I say yes" they shouted for joy and Steven grabbed the sandwiches placing them in a small cookie cat lunch box and walking out. "Wait she might get thirsty" Connie said Steven agreed and walked towards the fridge grabbing a bottle of sprite. "Alright let's go" he shouted in excitement as we all head out the door to Funland

It was so hot outside today, it was a good thing I decided to wear a plain black tank top with some red beach shorts and some black flip flops. But even still it wasn't doing much good. I pinned my hair up in a pony tail. God what I need was a nice cold drink but my break wasn't for another 5 minutes. 'Geez why couldn't I have been put by the waterworks ride, at least then I would gotten splashed with water every now and again' i pushed those thoughts to the back of my head and let the next group of people climb on. " HEY K!" I turned my attention to see Steven and his friend walking up with garnet. I was a bit shocked but I smiled anyways as the approached. "Hey guys here to ride the rollercoaster." I said as I took tickets from the next people to board the rollercoaster. "Oh no maybe later we came to bring you something to eat" Connie said while nudging Stevens arm. He handed me a small cookie cat lunch box. "Oh thank you, and right in time for my break, you guys really didn't have to" I said giving my post to the guy who walked up to relieve me for my break. I walked with them to a table. "Well i figured since you were out here working so hard that'd you'd like a nice lunch" Steven said sitting next to me. " and don't forget the cold refreshments" garnet added in handing me an ice cold Sprite. "Ahh you guys" I gave them a big hug "you guys are the nicest" I pinched Connies cheeks and mushed Stevens hair causing them both to laugh. I opened the lunch box to eat whatever was inside which was a nice sand which and a bag of chips. I ate as the two joked around. I kept giving glances at garnet who just stood there. I couldn't read her emotions, but maybe she was just here to accompany the kids. I finished off the sandwich and chips and then opened the drink. 'God this is just what I needed' I let the cold tingly drink slide down my throat and was washed over with relief at the coldness. The acid stung a bit but I didn't mind. It was cold exactly what I need for a hot summer day. "Well we'll come back to check on you" Steven said as him and Connie left. Garnet sat beside me on the bench as I said my good byes to them. "How was your mission" I said looked at her. She didn't break her stare at what lied straight ahead and instead answered in a monotone as always "good" a moment of silence went by.. "How is the job going" her question caught me off guard "oh uh it's alittle hot but I've had no problems so far" I said returning my gaze to the side to look at the people walking around. "Good" she said standing " have a good day k" she said walking away. I stared as she walked away. 'That's it no conversation about me grabbing her hand yesterday, nothing about how we seemed so smitten with each other as we fought, just nothing in general' u frowned a bit as I watched her walk away. I mean I actually made an effort to idk flirt with her and she just returned to her typical mysterious self. I groaned and got up returning to my post at the rollercoaster.

Garnet made frequent visits at the rollercoaster to bring me snacks and refreshments, this last all week. I had honestly thought that she was returning back to herself but I guess I was wrong. We shared conversations nothing out of the ordinary on my last day of work she even rode the rollercoaster with me. It felt like she was really opening up to me but it could have just been my imagination. Idk something about it made me want to be around her even more then any of the others. But again it could have just been my imagination. It was a pretty long week but it went by rather quickly.
