He continues panting as a shadowy figure fills his view of the ground. He looks up to see a short man with grey hair and eyes closed. He had brown clothing and a huge blade that he carried on his back.

The old man looked down at the child.

Kliff: My, what are you doing here young one?

Y/n: So.... Tired...

Kliff took notice of the bruises on his body. He knew those weren't any normal bruises but one of an abused.

Kliff: Hey kid, what's your name?

Y/n: Y...../n.

Kliff placed his hand on his chin.

Kliff: Well Y/n, why don't you stay with me for awhile.

Y/n was too exhausted to speak at the man as he nodded his head. Kliff picked him up and carried him on his back.

Kliff: Looks like I'm gonna be taking care of you then sunny.

With that, the short man walked away with the kid.

12 years have passed since Kliff took Y/n under his wing. Life changed in a flash for the boy when he was with the old man, he learned how to fight back against Grimm, how to cook, how to be a gentleman, and he even let Y/n craft his own weapon. After a couple of years of getting used to his new life, Y/n has learned to smile and to be happy. Right now, a 19 year old Y/n was helping a 98 year old Kliff in the smelting area. The two were forging a weapon for a costumer. Y/n wiped the sweat off his face as he grabbed his hammer and slammed it down on the hot metal. He turns his head to see the short man panting for air. He quickly stops and runs towards him.

Y/n: Grandpa!

Kliff waved his hand making the young adult stop.

Kliff: Not to worry young one, I am still can stand.

Y/n: You grew too old to do this stuff grandpa, you need to rest.

Kliff: I guess you are right, though I would still like to continue this just for a little longer.

Y/n sighed.

Y/n: Alright fine.

The two then heard a bell ring in the front.

Y/n, are you there~

A feminine voice could be heard. Kliff raised his eyebrow as he looked at Y/n. Y/n sighed as he walked out the area. He was met with a smiling girl with long orange hair that goes down to her elbows. She had emerald color eyes, grey clothes and a orange cat tail. This was Neon Katt, Y/n's only friend in middle school.

Neon Katt

Katt: Y/n, I missed you!

The Faunus jumped over the counter and hugged him. Y/n's eyes widen, clearly surprised by the girl's action but soon hugged her back.

Y/n: Hey Katt, how's it going?

She puffed her cheeks as she went close to his face.

Katt: I'm doing good, how come you didn't come in the last day of training academy?

Y/n rubbed the back of his head as he chuckled.

Y/n: O-Oh w-well you see.....

He then saw Kliff, walking out of the room he was in before.

Y/n: I-I uh... Needed to take care of grandpa.

Neon gave him a stern look which quickly changed to a happy smile.

Katt: Okay.

She then sat him down at a nearby chair and sat on his lap. This made the young adult sweat.

Katt: Soooooo.... What're we going to do today, hm?

Y/n: I was going to give a gift to another friend but I guess we can do something together.

The Faunus tilted her head.

Katt: Hm? What's the gift?

Y/n then brought out behind him a chainsaw.

Y/n: She wanted me to make her chainsaw for her.

Katt: Ah, okay then.

Y/n: Let me ask grandpa before leaving him by himself.

He quickly put the cat Faunus to the side and ran into another room where his grandpa was reading a newspaper.

Y/n: Grandpa, is it okay if I got give a gift to my friend with Katt?

The old man laughed and he nodded his head.

Kliff: You don't have to worry about me, go with your little girlfriend. I'll be fine.

Y/n had a blush on his face as he yelled at him.

Y/n: S-She's not my girlfriend!

Kliff chuckled.

Kliff: That's what they all say. Now go, she's waiting for you.

Y/n nodded and took his things and the chainsaw and ran off to Katt.

Y/n: Alright, I can go.

Katt: Sweet, c'mon let's go before it gets later.

Y/n nodded his head

Y/n: Yeah.

The two leave Y/n's house and walk into the city. As they do, they pass by multiple buildings.

Katt: So... Y/n, any idea what to do this Summer?

Y/n: I don't know, but I am transferring into Union Academy.

The female Faunus widen her eyes.

Katt: Eh, your transferring?!

Y/n nodded.

Y/n: Yeah. I know I said that I wanted to be a soldier but I changed my mind.

Katt: I see...

Her tail sank to the floor. He patted her head.

Y/n: Don't worry, it's just for two years. And we can still see each other anytime.

Katt: Yeah, I guess you're right....

She started mumbling.

Y/n: What was that Neon, I couldn't hear you.

Katt waved her hands around.

Katt: O-Oh it was nothing!

Katt sees a place with cupcakes and pulls on Y/n's arm.

Katt: Look Y/n, it's a bakery, can we go please!

Y/n chuckles.

Y/n: Yeah, that's a great idea. We got enough time for one little stop.

The two entered the store to see a gallery of sweets. Katt had stars in her eyes as she looked all around the bakery.

Katt: Y/n! Y/n! Look look they have cake and cannoli's!

Her tail wagged in a motion meaning that she was excited. This made the young adult chuckle. He took out his wallet and opened it up.

Y/n: Good thing I have extra money.

He went up to the register.

Y/n: Hello, I would like three cannoli's please.

The employee nodded.

Employee: Alright that'll be 5.50.

Y/n took out the money and gave it to the worker. The cat faunus smiled.

Katt: Thanks Y/n.

Y/n smiled back.

Y/n: Hehe no problem.

The man gave Y/n the bag, the spiky haired boy grabbed it and the two friends walked out the bakery. The two sat down on a bench and ate the pastry together.

Katt: Mm! Sho tasty!

Y/n nodded in agreement.

Y/n: I really love the filling in it. It's like really good.

Katt: Mhm!

Y/n takes a bite out of the pastry but doesn't know that some powder was on his cheek. Katt noticed and moved closer to him. She then licked his cheek making him blush.

Y/n: K-K-Katt, what are you doing?

Katt: There was some cream on your face, and licked it off of it.

She smirked at him.

Katt: Telling from your reaction, you like it~

Y/n scratched the back of his head.

Y/n: It was unexpected

The cat faunus had a wide grin on her face.

Katt: Hehe it's cute seeing you all flustered~

Y/n puffed and finished eating his dessert making Neon giggle. Once the two finished, they got up again and continued their walk to their destination. In just about twenty minutes, the two arrive at a old warehouse. Katt nervously swallow what ever fear she had.

Y/n: Well, here we are.

Katt: Are you sure, this is the right place. It's a bit creepy.

Y/n nodded.

Y/n: Yep, don't worry. We'll leave as quick as possible.

Neon nodded and latched herself onto the boy's arm and the two continued to walk on the path of the old warehouse. As they do, they hear someone laughing like a maniac inside sending a chill down the cat Faunus. Y/n lifted his hand and knocked on the door.

Y/n: Jackie, it's me Y/n. I got your weapon here.

The laughing stopped and footsteps could be heard running towards the two. Katt closed her eyes. The door opened.

???: Ah good, it's finally finished.

Katt opened her eyes to see a female with white hair, white skin, blood red color eyes, black crop top, brown gloves. She had an orange apron around her waist with red substances on it and a hammer behind her. One her feet she had brown boots. She held a chainsaw in her hand

Jackie Quilt

The female walked towards Y/n and grabbed the chainsaw from his hands and observed it.

Jackie: This is the aura slicing Chainsaw I ordered right?

Y/n: Mhm, sure is. Though why did you want that?

Jackie: I have my reasons... Though if you want to see why I can personally show you~

Y/n sweat dropped.

Y/n: O-Oh I'm good.

Jackie noticed the girl behind Y/n.

Jackie: Hmph, you've brought a girl here too?

Katt peeked her head out and waved.

Katt: I-I'm Katt, it's nice to meet you.

Jackie scoffed and grabbed Y/n's head. She then pulled his head to her chest. This surprised the both of them.

Y/n's and Katt's mind: What the fuck!?

Jackie looked at Katt with a challenging look in her eye. Katt knew what she was doing and retaliated by shooting back a glare at her. With all of his strength, Y/n pushed away the insane female as he gasped for air.

Y/n: Jackie! I told you not to do that!

Jackie: Sorry, I guess my body moved on it's own.

Y/n sighed and handed the silver haired girl the bag.

Jackie: What's this?

Y/n: I got you a cannoli at the bakery.

Jackie: You didn't have to, but thanks anyway.

Y/n: By the way, why is your chainsaw covered in red liquid?

The female looked down to see her apron also covered in red liquid. She nervously scratched the back of her head.

Jackie: I was cutting 'meat'.

Y/n: Ah okay then. Well we should get going.

Y/n waved at her and Katt stuck her tongue out.

Katt: Bleh!

Jackie stuck up the middle finger. The two teens walked away.

Later...

Y/n and Katt arrived at Katt's house.

Katt: Y'know, you could've just went home instead of walking me home.

Y/n: And why would I leave my best friend to walk alone, hm?

Katt giggled.

Katt: What a gentleman~

Y/n chuckled as he waved at her.

Y/n: Stay safe, alright?

Katt nodded and ran to her home door.

Katt: I will, thank you!

With that, the two parted ways.
