Spinel was still shaking from her discover last night. Amethyst's shards still took over her mind wthat night. How it happened before her very eyes...one instant she was getting snacks and the next she was shattered to tiny tiny peices, spelling out No Hard Feelings ;) and just vanished...Was she next? Was Steven next? She didn't know what was next for her or anyone else for that matter. Hopefully it was just a bad dream!

She looked down at Senfuzzy Chulo. He was as cute as ever with his big eyes and adorable little nose. Seeing him brought relief to her in a good way. Somehow hugging the stuffed plushie made her feel better about the situation. A small, soft smile appreared on her face as she hugged it tightly. "Mornin' Senfuzzy," she said in an almost inaudible tone. "Glad to see the Diamond Killer hasn't gotten to you...something terrible happened to Amethyst....she was shattered right after I looked away from her...it's my fault she's gone..." She felt her voice crack at the memory.

"...."

"But it is my fault Senfuzzy! If I hadn't turned around...if I hadn't been mad at her...if I wasn't playing Senpapi's game...she'd be here by now...She'd still be alive and walking and talking and whatever she likes doing. But no. I had to turn my head for one second and POOF! She was gone..."

"....."

"Yeah I know..." she loosened he grip on the plush. "I was just following Senpapi's orders...and I didn't kill Ame. I just needed to be more attentive and...I'm a terrible friend Senfuzzy...a terrible friend." Then she thought about something that made her panic. "Wh-what if Garnet and Pearl blame me?! What if they think I shattered her!? Oh no no no...they'll send me back...to the Diamonds...and I'll be the next one shattered...."

Spinel pulled her pigtails in frustration. "It's all my fault!!!"

Her panic attack eased down once she felt Steven's hand on her shoulder. "It's not your fault." He said reassuringly, but not in a way to imply that he was the one that did it. "Some things just happen, ya know?"

"I know but.." she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "I was right there Senpapi...you don't understand, I was RIGHT THERE when it happened!!! She got shattered the second I turned my back, if I hadn't done that we can still be friends..."

Steven rose an eyebrow at her sudden change of mood "Oh yeah? Wasn't she the one making fun of your fear of the Diamond hoes? Wasn't she putting a lot of things into your mind? Spinel, she made you upset. If anyone makes you upset you can't call them a 'friend'. I know you're a sweet gem and you would forgive her, probably did, but for the love of Rose Quartz forget Amethyst! She's a good-for-nothin! She's gone, problem solved. You should be happy."

"I can never be happy if a gem gets shattered...Wait, how did you know Amethyst got shattered?"

'oh my sweet, innocent Spinel. I knew you were gonna ask that~'

"I was in the kitchen last night, getting a midnight snack. I saw her shards and...well whoever shattered her had some creative spelling skillz." He looked at Spinel, who was looking down sadly and playing with Senfuzzy's ears. If only she knew what favor he did for her...how closer they could get and the relationship they would develop...She might not have realized it, but she was his. And the more people he got out of their way, the more obssessed he was with her beauty. "Well you still have me. And I'm your best friend. You can always trust me."

Spinel nodded and smiled. "Yeah, I can always trust you. But...what if the killer...what if he gets me?"

'I would NEVER hurt you my dear beloved~'

"Don't worry, I can guarantee they won't do anything to you." She blushed and his face got closer to hers, his now pink eyes staring into hers. "Not as long as I'm here~"

Their lips connected as Steven pulled her into a kiss. He pulled her close and put his hands on her waist. The kiss became platonic, getting deeper and passionate by the second. Even though Spinel didn't exactly know what was happening, she couldn't say she hated it. Steven on the other hand...he knew exactly what he was doing, and what he wanted. Maybe he can get it right now-

Well he thought.

Spinel broke the kiss once she heard a scream from the living room: Pearl's scream to be exact.

"AMETHYST?!?!!"

Steven smirked at her reaction. 'Surprise, Big Bird.'  "Welp looks like Pearl found her..."

"Hey Senpapi...?"

"Yes?"

"About the game...the quiet game..." She hesitated for amoment. "Can I stop playing it? I..I don't want any of the other gems to be shattered because of me...like Amethyst...."

Did Steven want her to speak to the gems? No, not at all. But did he care about Spinel and want she wanted? More than anything. Some things he'd just have to sacrifice...and if that means Spinel not playing the game anymore and her talking to those pathetic, good for nothing gems that will get in his way of making her his...

Then so be it.

"Fine..." He agreed painfully. "You don't have to play the game anymore."

"Thank you Senpapi!" Spinel hugged him and hopped off the bed, heading down the stairs. To him, the hug was just too short...he barely had time to take in her strawberry scent and feel her warmth. Oh well...he'll get the rest of that hug later...

And possibly something more.

-With Pearl, Garnet, Steven and Spinel-
-Place of Amethyst's shattering-

"This is bad this is bad this is bad this is very very BAD!!" Pearl sqauked as she paced back and forth in front of Amethyst's glistening shards. "GARNET WHO COULD HAVE DONE THIS?!? THE DIAMOND KILLER??"

"I...I can't see anything Pearl...it's like when this 'Diamond Killer' started his rampage my vision just...just went blurry. I can't see many paths, they're all blurred and unreadable. But I sense one thing...the rampage isn't stopping anytime soon...." Garnet said as she concentrated on looking at future paths, failing badly. This is exactly what Steven wanted...exactly what he wanted. Garnet not being able to catch him in the act meant it would be easier to get rid of the cunts that stood in the way of his lover.

Pearl kept ranting frantically. Her hair was messy from how hard she was thinking and panicking. "L-let's think back!! Amethyst was in here when she got shattered, right?! And then movies are on the floor!!? " She pointed at the DVD case Spinel dropped that night. "So it was probably an accident!! A very...very...terrible accident we have yet to figure out..." 

"But why would she spell out 'No hard feelings' with her own shards?" Garnet asked.

"Gah! You're right...someone shattered her. A gem, a human, a somebody! Wait...Spinel? Do you know anything?Tell us what happened tonight! Please tell us! We need to know!!!"

Spinel, who was clinging onto Steven's arm, looked up at him hesitantly and waited for his approval. Steven liked this obediant Spinel...she was willing to do anything to make sure their friendship lasts forever and ever. He didn't really care what she said. She didn't know what he did, and didn't need to know. Nothing could prove that he shattered Amethyst. Pff, it's not like Amethyst could say he killed her. He nodded, giving her the chance to explain everything.

"W-well...I wanted to sleep but then I couldn't because I had a nightmare so I tried to make some warm milk like humans do. But I put it in the oven because I thought that was how it was supposed to be done. But I did it wrong but Ame came to the rescue and helped before the house caught on fire! It was so nice of her. But then she started apologizing for what she said to me a few days ago. I forgave her, but I couldn't tell her that. So I went to pick out some movies for us to watch and then she got some snacks from the fridge," she explained. Memeories of that night came back to her head...and even now she blamed herself for her death.

"Keep going!"

"Uhm...and...and...when I turned back around...she was gone. I was too scared to say anything so I ran back into Senpapi's room and held my stuffed bunny...that's all. "

Pearl sighed and looked at Steven. "I take it you were asleep when this happened?"

"I was. But I found her when I came to get a snack."

"Thank you..." she stared at her shards one last time. "I...I think we should give her a proper goodbye..." She picked up the shards and put them in a small chest and walked to the warp pad. Spinel followed, asking,

"Huh? Where are ya goin?"

Pearl looked down at the chest and said with sorrow, "The place where Amethyst was created....we're going to the Prime Kindergarten...."

First of all, I hate how short this is. Really. But then again I'm making progress but by bit. Was this worth your time? Probably not. Was it worth the wait? Nah. But I hope ya liked it anyway, no matter how short it was. Can we all have a moment of silence for Ame....
