Chapter 7: Message of Agony

-Midnight-
....
The minute Spinel shut her eyes, she already had dreams of what Senpapi said they were gonna do the following day. Probably back to the big giant wheel she loved! And get some more of the pink fluffy clouds she liked to eat. What were they? ...Oh, cotton candy. Fuzzy being in her arm as she held Senpapi's hand. It was a great day. The two were leaving the Funland Arcade after he won her more cotton candy and some balloons. They even had their face painted, with Spinel being a bunny and Senpapi Steven being a tiger.

"Come on Spinel, I wanna show you something," he said to her, Spinel smiling excitedly as she tossed some blue cotton candy in her mouth. He guided her down a hill and through a path with many butterflies and plants: From daisies to daffodils to even violets. They were all magnificent to her. A rainbow winged butterfly perched itself on her nose. "Hehe, that tickles!" she giggled as it walked around. Then it fluttered to her gloved hand. "Aw Senpapi. It's so beautiful here."

He didn't say anything. Steven just smiled and kept his hand on hers while various butterflies and freindly insects flew around her. "Where are we going? When are we gonna get there? The suspense is killing me Senpapi!!!"

Steven chuckled as they made it to an open field and they sat down on a hill. "Here it is," he said as they looked into the view. It was beautiful. It was the right moment, cause the sun was setting. They can witness day go to night right there in they're very eyes...it was astonishing. The sky got darker and it was soon lit by millions or billions of tiny glowing stars. Spinel was astonished. "This is so beautiful."

"Wanna know what else is beautiful?" He asked her with a smile.

"Sure!"

"You~" Steven cooed as he booped her nose, cause her to blush at the compliment. Spinel sat Senfuzzy Chulo (yes, she calls it that too for some partcular reason-) beside her as she faced him. His eyes were dazzling. And dreamy. And...pink. "I love this place...what's it called?"

"It doesn't exactly have name. But if I had to think of one..." He hummed as he thought. "I'd call it 'Yet Another Place Not Nearly as Gorgeous as Spinel' . Sounds like a great name, right?"

Spinel giggled at the name and hugged him. "Oh Steven, you ol' Charmer. I love it." She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes "I really love it here..."

Then she heard a noise.

A drilling noise. Spinel opened her eyes, shocked to see she was chained to a wall. Her balloons were gone, so was Senfuzzy, and...Steven. He was long gone as well. Wh-where am I? She thought to herself, trying to free herself from her chains. Where's Senpapi? Where's the special place? Why am I here?
The room was dark, but as she squinted her eyes she could see White and Senpapi standing in a doorway, White smiling and waving. Spinel grinned, happy to see Senpapi. "Senpapi Steven! I'm glad you're here! Do you know where I am and why I'm here? I could use some help with the chains here."

He didn't say anything. Steven was expressionless. He was just watching her, while the Diamond beside her still waving. "Senpapi help!" she yelled, hoping to get his attention but failed. "Senpapi!"

Steven pointed up, where it sounded like the drilling sound was coming from. Now she knew why White was smiling: There was a drill slowly reaching her gem, ready to destroy her and end her existence. Her eyes widened as the drill got closer and closer to her fragile gem. Why was Senpapi watching this happen? Did he..give her to the Diamonds? It didn't matter now. Spinel wasn't going to exist anymore. She was chained..trapped..about to end.

The drill's tip was only inches away from her gem. "Senpapi! Please! Don't leave me here! Please stop the drill!" Spinel screamed with hot tears pouring down her cheeks. "Senpapi!!!"

He didn't say anything. The light dimmed as White shut the metal door, leaving it completely dark. But Spinel could feel the drill inch it's way to her gem.

The tip scraped the gem on her chest, making her scream and cracks rapidly form. The drill was slowly killing her, and it was painful to feel it. Particles slid off her chest as dug through the core. This was it. It was the end. Her physical form would no longer exist as the drill kept digging...

And digging....

And digging....until it went right through her-

"No...no!" She woke up in a cold sweat, or if gems even sweat at all. She was breathing roughly and her face was wet with hot tears. "...No..." Spinel placed her hand on her gem. It was perfectly fine...no drill...no cracks...it was just alright. She sighed in releif and wept her tears. Another bad dream...or a nightmare as Senpapi Steven calls it. *sigh* I heard that warm milk or midnight snacks helps humans have nice dreams. Hopefully I can sleep better this time...

She got up, still catching her breath. She quietly closed the door behind her to make sure she didn't awake Senpapi Steven if he was even asleep. The only thing she had to figure out was how to prepare warm milk like the humans. A part of her was thinking they put milk in a glass and hold it up to the sun. How did it make them tired? Either way, she hoped it'll at least work for her.

"Now...what do I do now?" She asked herself after pouring some milk into a cup. Now there's one thing she had to do: Warm it up. How? No clue. "God dammit...!" Spinel had an idea! Ovens make things hot...so maybe...

She put the cup into the oven and looked at the different knobs. She assumed the biggest one controlled the heat of the oven, so she turned it to highest temp. "I think it's 3 minutes, right?" She sat on the countertop, kicking the oven lightly so she wouldn't wake up Senpapi. She hummed as an aroma filled the kitchen: a bad one. Though she didn't mind, considering she didn't know what it was and thought it was the milk warming up.

Well, that was until Spinel noticed a weird smoke coming from the oven. "What the hell?" It started to smell worse and the smoke started to fill up the room. "Uh...I hope this means it's ready?"

"No it doesn't. It means ya put the milk in the wrong place, haha." She turned to see Amethyst chuckling beside her. "It's meant to go in the microwave. Not the oven." Amethyst turned off the oven and removed the now burnt glass. The milk was almost evaporated now. Spinel didn't say anything, remembering Senpapi telling her NEVER to talk to Amethyst, no matter how much she wanted to thank her for the help and instructions with how to warm milk.

Amethyst rubbed her neck nervously. "Hey um...are we good? I mean I know I apologized already but...I just need some more reassurance since Steven didn't look happy to see me. Are we still friends?"

Yes Amethyst! We're still friends! Spinel thought, smiling. But I can't tell you that sadly...

"By your smile I'm taking that as a yes. So, wanna sit back and watch a movie? I can help a with the warm milk thing and teach ya that ovens and glasses of milk don't go together." She chuckled after recalling the pink gem's mistake. "Wanna get the movie set up while I grab some snacks?"

Spinel nodded, heading into the living room and rummeging through the movies while Ame raided the fridge. "Let's see...we have some extra cookie cats and lion lickers..and some chips! Whaddya think? Oh wait...I forgot you're doing the silent treatment. When are ya gonna stop the whole charade?"

Spinel picked up 'Titanic', 'The Purge' and 'Angry Birds Movie', among others. Did she wanna start talking? Yes. But did she want to lose the game Senpapi Steven set up for her? No. Hopefully Amethyst didn't feel too offended.

"You know, to be honest, I have to admit that you really shouldn't be too afriad anymore. You have us and Steven. No hard feelings?" She told Spinel as she grabbed a pop from the fridge. But the soda quickly dropped from her hand as she gasped. Nothing was said from her afterwards.

Meanwhile, the pink gem had finally picked a movie for them to watch. She observed the DVD case and grinned. "IT Chap...chap...chap-tear 2?IT Chapter 2!" She pronounced to herself. "Hopefully Ame likes this one..." She turned around, expecting to see her fellow quartz friend with the snacks. But she wasn't there. No one was in the kitchen at all.

The sodas were on the floor, along with very tiny purple shards.

Amethyst's shards.

She dropped the movie, covering her mouth wth her hands and fear ran through her body. First Amethyst was there...and in a split second she wasn't. She started panicking, looking around to see if anyone was there. But she was alone...with Amethyst's shards...right there before her very eyes. Spinel wanted to scream...but something held her back. "N-no...Amethyst..." She stuttered, staring at what was left of her friend. Tears formed in her eyes.

She regretted the game.

She regretted not speaking to her.

She regretted being mad at her in the first place.

Tears ran down her cheeks as she ran back to Steven's room, hoping it was all a bad dream. She climbed back into bed, holding Senfuzzy tightly. Steven had come out of the bathroom, looking at his beloved. He was proud at what he had done: And hoped she liked his surprise. He got into bed with her and held her close by the waist while she cried softly. She can never get out of her mind the words that the shards had been placed to spell. They were formed into the last words Amethyst had said to her, some shards forming a heart around the words...

No hard feelings ;)
.........
Hey Kat Kommunity!
Finally...a new chappy! And Amethyst is now EXTINCT! Well not extinct but you know what I mean. She just d i s a p p e a r e d.
We all know what Steven did and Spinel was clearly terrified by his message made with her shards. Not that she knew her Senpapi did it.
And yes, the beginning was a nightmare. So you don't be confused. Hope this chappy was worthy of the wait.

Don't forget to vote, comment, and tell me what ya think!

Keep calm and sleep on,
Katlady

And remember....

No hard feelings 😉
