The night was quiet, calm and secure. The pink gem had never exactly slept before, but she liked it either way. It was even better that she was in a comforting hold. Her mind was free of negative thoughts-

For only a moment.

At one point, she found herself back in the garden. Her feet were held down by vines, her heart-shaped buns a mess, and the communicator started going static. Why was she here? Confused, she looked at the communicator. It was the same message of Steven, and a small smile made it's way to her face.
Senpapi...she thought to herself. Senpapi Steven...but...what am I doing here?

It was that moment she realized Pink had left for no return. She wasn't going to cry over it, at least not of anger. But of sadness and betrayal. Spinel wasn't mad at Steven as before. She didn't know what to do now. Go visit Earth, this time with no injector? Or maybe see if Steven remembered her? She was thinking of what she was going to do, when she was all of a sudden inside of the Diamonds Palace.

...What the hell is going on?!?!

White looked down at her with eyes full of rage. "Seems like you didn't play nice...." She said in a threatening voice. "And because of that our beloved sister had to leave..."

"It's your fault she's dead," Yellow glared at Spinel. She looked hopfeully at Blue, the one who was at least the most considerate of the 3. Spinel looked miserable, and terrified. Blue no longer had her sweet, caring expression anymore. Now, her atomosphere was filled with hatred.

"I'm very sorry, Spinel. You need a time out forever."

"NO!" Spinel shouted, a tear or two falling down her cheek. "PINK left ME! In the garden for 6000 years!!! It's not my fault! I was waiting for her to come back, I really was! Please don't lock me up...!"

Then White smiled. It was sweet, but sinister. "Well you don't have to go inside of the chamber, little one," she said. Spinel didn't sigh in relief, but was indeed confused yet grateful.

"R-really?" She stammered.

"Of course, my dear. There's always another option, and you discarded the first one. Blue, Yellow. Did she, or did she not say no to the previous option?" Her fellow sisters nodded. "Exactly. "

W-what are they gonna do to m-me...?

Spinel was frightened for her life. Her pupils shrunk in fear as White raised her foot above Spinel, an evil grin plastered upon her face. "This is what you deserve, you little play thing!!!"

"White please NO!" Spinel cried. She dropped to her knees and begged for mercy. "I promise I'll be good! Please!"

"Too late. Actions don't go unpunished."

And with that, the diamond set her foot down and before it could reach the pink gem, she heard a familiar voice call her name.

"Spinel? Wake up!"

"Huh?"

Eventually she was shaken awake by Steven, who had a look of concern. "Spinel, are you alright? You were squirming around and crying in your sleep so I had to wake you up."

So it wasn't real...oh thank the Lord...I don't ever wanna be in that horrible state ever again.

"Y-yeah I'm alright...I think I was trapped in another demension though."

"You weren't in a demension." Steven explained. "You were just dreaming. Actually, a nighmare." Spinel was wiping excess tears from her eyes when she asked, "What's a dream and a nightmare?"

Steven took a moment to think about it before turning his attention to Spinny. "Well, I can't exactly explain it. But a lot of times, when humans or even gems sleep, they end up thinking about things they don't realize they're thinking. Some dreams are nice, such as being on an island or being married to your crush. Some are crazy but funny, and then we have the not so good ones...we refer to those as nightmares. Whenever you dream about something bad or scary, then that's a nightmare. "

"Oh. I get it..." Spinel nodded. "What did you dream about?"

"Well....It started off with me on Homeworld after I saved the Universe again," He smiled at the memory.

"Was I in it?" Spinel asked with a curious grin. That made the boy smirk and nod. "Yep. It was me and you. You were happy, juggling the shattered remains of the Diamonds...and I checking Earth's status. It was a pretty good dream, especially since you were in it."

Spinel giggled and blushed slightly. "Wait- I was juggling the shattered remains of who?" She asked.

"I'll tell you later. We have to go to Funland, remember? I'll buy ya all the cotton candy ya want."

Instantly forgetting what he told her about juggling shattered gems, Spinel got up quickly in excitement. Steven smiled. She looked even more beautiful when she was happy.  He smiled and got himself ready, of course grabbing some extra cash just in case she has a sugar rush. They headed to the amusement park, and when they entered Spinel would've had a heart attack if she had a human heart.

There were so many rides she wished to try, she smelled the best food, and the stuffed animals and prizes could've killed her with cuteness.
"holy shit..." She said in awe.

"Well, we aren't just gonna stand here all day, are we? " Steven teased. Without warning, Spinel grabbed his hand and went to the first thing she saw: the cotton candy maker. "Is this the 'cotton candy' you were talking about, Senpapi?"

"Sure is."

"I'll take the whole damn supply..." Spinel said as she made her own and finished in 5 seconds flat. After that, she kept making more and more. In the corner of is eye, he saw Mr. Smiley giving a 'I hope you're paying for all that' look. He sighed, cause his companion already had taken more than half of it. But what he was about to pay didn't matter at the moment. It was Spinel's happiness that was important to him. And she was smiling now, so that's a good thing.

"Ok, ok, slow down Spinny," he chuckled.

"Hmm?" The gem asked with a mouth full of pink cotton candy.

"Well don't ya wanna go on one of the rides?"

That sparked her attention and she immediately gulped down the rest of her cotton candy. (seriosuly, is there an oreo cotton candy I can try? Or chocolate?) "Well yeah! How about we start off with..." she looked around, and pointed to the roller coaster. "That thing with the screaming people on there! I wanna scream with you, Steven! Can we do it?"

It depends. Are you referring to the 1st way or 2nd way?

Steven smiled as he nodded. "Sure. This day is all about you, remember? We can do whatever you want."

Spinel grinned and pulled him to the ride, where she indeed got the screams she wanted.

You can say they had fun on the rides. The roller coaster was only the beginning. Spinel insisted they played Wack-a-Mole, (she won alot of tickets cause she grabbed one of the moles and hit it repeatedly) , went inside the house of mirrors cause she wanted to "trick" the reflection, the bumper cars gave her 1st place on road rage, and it was just at the break of evening when she spotted a game booth.

"Hey, what's this?" she asked as she reached for a fluffy pink rabbit. Mr. Smiley slapped her hand away, making the gem look in confusion.

"Sorry, gotta earn it." He said while crossing his arms. "Gotta get 10 rings around 10 bottles. $5 per round. Heh, that's if you're lucky and actaully get 10 goals. "

Spinel looked up at the bunny. It's fur was a light pink, and it's stomach looked as if it was shaped as a heart, colored red. It's beady eyes were a dark pink, with finally a tiny pink nose was in the shape of a pink heart. She wanted it, bad. Who could resist it's cuteness? Steven had already spent money on her, and Mr. Smiley gave her the impression that not many people get all 10 goals. It would seem greedy of her to ask for it, making worthless shots and uses Senpapi's money for her own wants. It just didn't seem right to her.

"Never mind, it's not that important..."

"If you want it, I'll gaurantee that I'll spend my life savings to get it," Senpapi  reassured her after hearing her sad tone.

"You've gotten me plenty of things today, I don't wanna seem greedy." Spinel admitted. "I'll live."

Oh fuck...now she feels guilty. We'll see about that.

Despite Spinel's protesting, Senpapi Steven gave Mr. Smiley the money and was ready to aim for the bottles. Smiley laid back, ready to watch his supposed 'failure'. As for Spinel? She was feeling guilty, still though she was mentally cheering Senpapi for the win.

"And 10. Easy as pie," the gem hybrid smiled as he landed the tenth ring. His companion grinned happily as Mr. Smiley, as shocked as he was, handed her the stuffed bunny.

"Well done, my boy. " He said in confusion. "I see you got skills."

"The skills to pay the bills!" Spinel hugged her prize tightly with her adorable noodle arms. It warmed Steven's heart to see his little jester happy the way she was. Her smile was just enough to make even the toughest guy cry or fall for her adorableness. If he could, he would hold her in a hug and never let go. But that was for later. His daydreaming would have to wait.

"Oh thank you Steven...I really appreciate it. I really do. It's almost as cute as you!"

Well it's not nearly half as cute as you, Spinny.

"It's no problem. Anywhere you wanna go? It's almost sundown, and you know how Pearl is."

Spinel thought for a moment before she pointed to the 'big giant wheel' she's been wanting to get on since forever (and by forever, that's  means yesterday...). "I was thinking we could go on that big giant wheel. I wanna see why everyone gets so scared whenever it stops and their at the top. Really confuses me," she replied. "And besides, I think it'll be the perfect way to end our day."

Senpapi nodded in agreement. "It really would, wouldn't it? Come on, the sun's setting. And I heard the view from up top is breath-taking."

"Okey, Senpapi!" The heart gem chirped as they made their way over to the Ferris wheel. The ride stopped and let off it's sick passengers. The duo got into the cart as the ride started. Spinel (who was almost off the edge) was looking in awe as they rose up. As they went higher, the sun set lower, making magnificent colors reflect onto the sky. Reds and oranges and yellows...it painted the sky like a highlighted portait.
It was so amazing to witness this, and to do it with her best friend to be exact.

It was hypnotizing.

"It's so beautiful Senpapi Steven...." Spinel awed as she looked at the sunset with her stuffed bunny in hand. "It's just....I have no words for it..."

Steven was awed by it as well. "It's even better that I witness this with you, Spinny. You've made this  whole day worth my while." He said, making the gem smile shyly.

"Aw, I'm flattered...don't need to butter me up, Senpapi, You're making me blush," Spinel remarked as she playfully elbowed him. He put an arm around Spinel's shoulders.

"I'm serious. Do you know how many people would pay to know someone as precious as you? Or even just to be your best friend? I don't know what she was thinking when she left you.  I wouldn't leave cutie like you to waste."
Spinel smiled and lay her head on his shoulder.

"...I know. But I gotta give her credit: If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have met you, best friend..." She said in a calm and thankful tone. "But just for the record...since you've done so much for me, I want to be the bestest best friend I can be. No mess-ups. I'll-"

"Spinel please stop-" Steven protested as she calmed down. "Just you being here is enough for me. I like you the way you are. Don't stress yourself if you're afraid you're gonna lose me. Just stay like you are. That's the Spinel I like."

"...Senpapi...?" Her cracked voice could be heard as if she was about to get emotional.

"Yes, Spinel?"

"I want you to be honest with me, the truth and nothing but the truth. Tell me...does it bother you that I'm here? Am I just not facing my consequences with the Diamonds? It's alright if you don't want me here Senpapi, then I'll leave and spare you the troubles..."

Oh no...those Diamond stones really got her fucked up in the head. All the way. I don't know how long it'll take to convince her she didn't do anything wrong. But I'll make sure that time comes.

He really didn't like how she was bringing herself down like this. It's really depressing. And heartbreaking, in all honesty. "It doesn't bother me that you're here. Don't ever think that you're a bother. It makes me upset seeing you beating yourself up. And you didn't do anything wrong. The Diamonds are just being asses. I double doggy-style dare them to come here and try to take you away.  It's gonna be me and them, and the fight ain't gonna be pretty. I vowed to myself that I'll do everything in my will to make you happy and to protect you from any threat, including the Diamonds. I'm keeping that promise."

Spinel looked up at him. Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes said it all. It was as if they were saying 'thank you', or showing her hope that she was safe. "You mean that?"

"Of course I do. You may not know it, but you mean so much to me. As a best friend, as a gem...you're more valuable to me than anything. I'll kill you for you, if that's what you want."

Then he felt arms wrap around his torso. "I'm glad I can trust you Senpapi.." Spinel whispered, completely forgetting the last part. "I really am."

The ride eventually ended, and it was about closing time for the Funland-Arcade anyway. It really was a good- no- glorious day. Steven felt as if he had really gotten close to Spinel, who felt the same way. Her worries were temporarily gone as far as she knew. Nothing could ruin this day...absolutely-

"Well well well...what's a cute girl doing with a guy like...well, him."

Nothing....

The duo turned around to see no one but the glorious Kevin, who was looking just as much of a fuckboi as usual. "So, didn't think you had a hot spot for hot alien girls. Too bad she chose the wrong guy to spend her life with. Howze about we go out sometime, babe?" He asked smugly, referring to Spinel.

Oh hell no...

"I...I um..." She was speechless. But for one, she was obviously uncomfortable of the sudden approach. Kevin didn't seem to notice that, since he was too busy being a little fuckboi.

"Why so nervous, babe? I'm not gonna bite," He flirted as he reached for her hand, only to have it slapped by Spinel's companion.

Steven smiled in an impatient way, already getting aggravated. "Kevin, dude, don't you have other things to do than annoy the hell outta me and my little jester here? Please, go choke or something." Spinel scooted behind Steven a bit as Kevin rose an eyebrow.

"Come on little man. I'm just trying to start a nice conversation with the little lady here. No need for hostility." Kevin turned his back to leave, only to leave one message before actually leaving. "See you later, babe. Lemme know if this fuckboy annoys you. "  With that, he disappeared. Steven sighed impatiently as he turned the other direction with a perplexed Spinel behind him.

"Senpapi, who was that dyke? " she asked, holding his hand tightly. Before they entered the beach house, Steven answered in a content yet annoyed voice.

"Don't worry about Kevin, Spins," he muttered. Though, despite his annoyance, he gave a calm and content smile. Spinel nodded and went inside, ready for a long day's worth of rest. However, Steven had other thoughts. As he entered his bedroom (with a sleeping Spinel cuddling with her stuffed rabbit) he kissed her forehead, just enough to make her smile a bit. Although, afterwards he made a statement to himself in a low voice Spinel couldn't hear.

"When I'm done with him, he'll be the least of your worries."

Hiya KAt Kommunity! Here's yet another update. It's finally on time for once, I feel accomplished XD.  Here's a summary:
"Spinel and Steven have a somewhat decent day at Funland. Spinel got a sugar rush, Steven won her an animal, and all is good. Meanwhile, they have a deep conversation, which cures Spinel of her paranoia. Even then, a fuckboi ruins it all and we can all guess that he's in danger."

Here's to clear something up: Spinel isn't in love with him yet. Steven's feelings? He's in the stage of being a protective friend, but wether or not he's in love? Both are balanced, so there's no yes or no to the "Is he in love" thing. It's a bit of both, while a bit of none.
