"We're...still best friends...right?" The broken gem asked while being held close to her savior. She was done with the tears, at least for now. If she kept it up, she thought she'd be called a baby back bitch, which she didn't want to compare to. After her broken session, they decided to relax by just cuddling (AKA Spinel's idea). A sweet moment. Her fear of the Diamonds finding and imprisoning her was still going through her head.
"Of course we are," Steven replied, arm wrapped around her shoulder. "We'll always be best friends, Spinel. Why would you ask that?"
She shrugged tensely. "I'm sorry. I've been crying like a lil' fool. This whole thing is getting to my head and it's making me think these things. But um...is it normal for friends to hug like this?"

"Sure. Most of the time when someone is feeling upset, they might just need to hug and take away the tension. It works because it's soothing, quiet, and it just makes you feel safe in general. And don't be sorry for shedding tears, Spinel. None of this is your fault. " He clenched his fist, but Spinel didn't notice. "It's those stone cold Diamonds that piss me off. It's similar to what I used to- and somewhat still- going through. Pink is gone. Why can't they realize that? "

Spinel didn't say anything. It was a good question. Pink was gone. As in never coming back as far as they know. It was her choice to come to earth as Rose and be with Greg. Her choice to give up her form for Senpapi Steven. It was all her choice. Who would miss the monster? Hurting Pink Pearl's eye over a colony, tricking Spinel into standing in the dead cold garden for 6000 years...and leaving poor Steven with her problems.

Then again, they're rocks. All gems are rocks mixed with light. And the Diamonds were no different. Stones. Cold. Dead. Just like any other gem. What made them so superior? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just because they were so obsessed with a dead monster, they decided to bring their anger out on other poor souls.

Yeah, totally isn't Satan.

"Well...Pink was loved by everyone and they got too carried away..." She croaked.

"Too carried away? It wasn't just that. They had their heads so far up Pink's ass I swear to God...and Pearl wonders why I don't call her my mother anymore. Just know I'm here to protect you, even if it means..." Steven muttered the last part. "Shattering them."

Spinel perked her head up in fear. "Nonono! Tell me you're joking!"

"I'm not. I'll shatter them hoes."

"Steven, they're WAY bigger and most likely stronger! You'll get hurt or worse, killed! I don't wanna lose you, best friend...Not now. Don't risk it. I don't want you getting hurt just because I'm being a pathetic stone!"

"You're not a pathetic stone, unlike the others," Steven said as he held her closer in a protective hold. "And I don't want them fucking you up either. I've fought gems left and right, back to back. I'm even half Diamond, so it's fair game. "

Spinel looked as if she might cry again at the thought of it. Losing her best friend, Senpapi Steven. One of the only ones she could trust and wouldn't abandon her. If he was willing to die for her, then what would she do? That's was heart aching. Steven caught on to her tensity and watching more tears form. He smiled sympathetically and wiped them away with his finger, although it didn't stop some from falling down her cheeks. "Aw, it's alright, my little Jester."
The nickname made her giggle abit. "I'll do anything to make sure you're happy. If ya wanna rule a colony, so be it. Need money? Gotcha covered."

"What's money? " She asked in curiousity.

"Something rich people have too much of and what the government is taking from the non-rich folks." He explained in a sarcastic tone. "But you don't need to worry about that, my Jester. I don't want you worrying in general. I wanna see that cute bubbly smile more often." A small grin formed on his own and Spinel wept away her leftover tears. She smiled back in relief.

"Hehe...I guess you're right, Senpapi."

"Where did Senpapi come from? I'm starting to like it."

Spinel blushed a little from the compliment. "Well, I just thought it was cute, ya know? I usually give my best friends nicknames. And in this case, you're my Senpapi Steven! fits ya well."

"Of course it does," He said with a chuckle. A knock came from his door and Pearl came in. She looked in shock as she saw Spinel, halfway asleep. Steven waved at her in a friendly manner.

"Yo, what's up Pearl?" He asked. Pearl was about to open her mouth to speak but nothing came out as she could only point to the now sleeping Spinel. "Trouble with the Diamonds."

"The Diamonds? What happened?" Pearl asked.

"Uh..." Steven looked at Spinel as she cutely dozed off. He knew if she woke up and wasn't beside him, hail will freeze over. He carefully unwrapped her arms from around his, making sure not to disturb her rest.

It was successful.

"Well, long story short...."

The CG's looked in shock and horror as Steven told them the story. Garnet had her usual blank expression, Amethyst looked as if she saw The Conjuring, and Pearl had her hand over her mouth in disbelief. She was the first to speak. "I can't believe this. They're changed. They love Spinel ,took her into their arms and everything."

Steven shook his head and crossed his arms. "It's all the truth. Nothing BUT the truth."

"That's harsh man..." Amethyst said as she took a bite from her tortilla. "And to think they were over that whole Pink phase."

"Apparently not. They were wolves in sheep's clothing."

"My vision is blurry right now, so I can't tell what's happening right now. But I do see something..." Garnet adjusted her future vision and ready to tell some freaky conspiracy stuff. "I can see them arguing but I can't make out what their saying. "

"Well I'm still not believing it!" Pearl protested. "Steven, how do you know she's telling the truth? She tried to kill you before. Maybe she's faking all this just to get more revenge! "

"Pearl I swear to fucking God," The hybrid muttered in frustration. He was quickly getting triggered by her ignorance and nonsense. What made her think that? Was she snorting some special crack..?! "She came here in tears. Full. Blown. TEARS! And she was obviously scared that they were going to imprison her. Poor thing. Of course you wouldn't understand. You weren't there to witness her broken heart."

Pearl sighed.  "Still. No one can just fake kindness like that."

"Oh you empty headed stone...Pink's actions is really just a joke to you isn't it? She started Spinel's never-ending depression and yet you forget that. She can fake just about anything. Death. Kindness. Sympathy. Better yet, she can fake her concern about you. Anything is possible, Pearl." Steven said honestly with a smirk. Pearl was taken back by his reply, having a surprised and offended expression.

"She would never fake that. I was important to her, like she was important to me."

"Exactly. Just like you 'claim' you were important to her, Spinel is important to me. Just like I am with her. And she's not here to trick me and kill me. She's here to escape from harm and death. I can't think of any other way to explain it. Better yet, WHY am I explaining this to a stone? " Steven asked in an annoyed manner, leaving the pearl speechless. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a slinky to cheer up."

With that, he went back to his room. Spinel had her eyelids slightly open, with fear noticeable in them. She must've known he left. "Hey Spinny..." He said quietly and got back into his comforting postition.

"I...I thought you left me like she did..." She whimpered as she wrapped her noodle arms around him protectively. "I thought you were gone forever..."

"I wouldn't leave you for anything, don't forget that. As a matter of fact, why don't we go out tomorrow, just me and you? Would you like that?" The slinky smiled and nodded excitedly.

"Most certainly," she chirped.

"Good. We can got to Funland. Ya know, to  get prizes, get on rides, and I bet you haven't tried cotton candy yet."

Spinel smiled as she thought about spending the day with her best friend. Winning all the prizes. Getting to try that giant wheel that people enjoyed riding and wished to try it too (when I was little the Ferris Wheel fucking scared me XD), and having a taste about what this 'cotton candy' was. Whatever it was, she bet it was nice and sweet.
The part she was looking forward to most was being with Steven. She could see the exciting things he's show her. He'll probably take her to the big giant wheel! Anything was bound to happen, and she looked forward to all the fun.

Eventually she fell back asleep in safe arms. She loved how safe she felt now. It was like an angel came and lifted a million pounds of bricks off her shoulders. When she fell asleep, she didn't sleep with fear: But with happiness.

*yawns* Well guess who FINALLY made an update, huh? Mah bad for the delay, I forgot about this for a bit haha XD. Despite how boring this is, I hoped you liked it regardless. To clear something up, she doesn't have a crush on him yet, same for Steven. It's more a protective best friend relationship. Keep calm and sleep on. And remember...
