"Null!"

His head cocked oddly.

"It's me, don't you remember me, Null? It's me, Tenshi! You couldn't have forgotten me, could you?" I feigned innocence.

"P..ure.."

Oh yeah, he's a newbie alright.

"Null?" I walked towards him, caressing his arm, "You remember me, don't you?"

But being a newbie is only one more factor that I can exploit. I don't even have to try to act like his precious Tenshi.

I sniffed into his neck. "Come on, Null.. remember me.."

His smell.. he's definitely a new fire demon. He has intense passion.. It's actually quite a perfect situation. He's already found a target for his love. I wonder where the little human is.. According to his memories, both Tenshi and his little brother were there when he entered this world.. Then Tenshi suddenly disappeared after talking to some strange voice.. and little Kiseki disappeared a little bit before I arrived.. Something's odd here..

I nibbled into his neck, watching carefully for his reaction. Like a normal, good, little fire demon, he tensed up, no doubt feeling electricity course through his veins, before he moaned out, leaning into my touch. I sneered.

Good.. He's mine now. Didn't even have to try very hard. He seems to be special, but it would seem being a newbie has made both his dedication and talents decrease exponentially.

I can't believe it was so easy to get near him.. The demon assigned to him must've been a fool.

"Null. Come with me."

"H-Hai.."

And we'll have to do something about that speech impediment of his.. Should be simple enough. I'm honestly surprised he still has it.

Tenshi's P.O.V.

"And, he lost. I seriously hope you two have strong dedication to each other because he's now in control of a very strong demon. I don't know if a typical Wind Tower will get him into your control.. Never mind a Water Tower. That won't do sh*t. Even if it works, and he's cured, he'll still be in that demon's control, although he could fight it."

"Wh..What?"

"Sorry, Tenshi-kun, but your little Null-kun isn't devoted to you anymore. At all. He's solely devoted to that demon. As in, that demon could ask him anything, and he'd do it. The demon could ask him to jump off a bridge, and he'd do it. The demon could ask him to please him sexually.. and he'd do it."

I shivered, staring at the ground. "Why..? Why did you make such a horrible game..?"

"...It's not my fault Null-kun isn't strong enough."

I gritted my teeth. "...fine then.. but I'll still get him back.. before that demon asks him to do anything reckless.." I raised my head and eyes, "I can kill that demon with the Fire Treasure.. can't I?"

"..Oh? Reckless, are we? Desperate? I'm sorry, Tenshi-kun, but the same goes for killing him. It would deeply wound him, probably, but Null-kun would probably be devastated that his Master was hurt. And there are rules for demons as well, you know, Tenshi-kun. A demon can sacrifice their life for another. ... You wouldn't want that, now, would you?"

I shook in anger. "You're sick.."

"It's just how I made the game. It's the same as sacrificing yourself to cure another."

"...I'll still beat this game of yours.."

Quickly. I'll do it quickly.

"So.. If I decided to cure Null.. with the Water Tower.."

"It would do nothing. I'd heavily advise against it. If anything, it'll worsen your situation since the demon might decide to dispose of him.."

Dang it..

"...But I can skip towers, right?"

"Of course. You can go to the third Wind Tower right now, or the fourth, or even the hundredth, if you wished."

"...Alright." I pulled out my map. "The third has the vehicles, right?"

The voice didn't respond. I gritted my teeth together.

Vehicles.. The third is closer..

I stuffed the map back into the backpack, moving on with Kiseki and Midnight in tow.

I'll go to the third first. That way, I'll essentially be able to save time by getting a vehicle – whatever it is.
