Finally, I'll be able to restore Null and Kiseki!!

The second Wind Tower was almost as easy as the first, too!

Now, I'll have Null under my control.. and by default, Kiseki. Which means, I can restore Kiseki in the second Water Tower, and on the third, I can restore Null!

"Oh, but, just one thing before you click that!"

"Null will be teleported here."

"Yea."

"So.. Kiseki.. would be.. left on his.. own?"

"Yes."

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT BEFORE?!!"

"Haha. You gonna beat me even harder, little Tenshi-kun?"

"YOU HAVE TOO MANY STUPID RULES!!"

"Hey, I thought long and hard about these!!"

"JERK! BUTTHOLE! EVILDOER! DEMON!"

"OH MY ME, JUST PRESS THE BUTTON ALREADY!!"

"Oh. Right."

I clicked the button, and it showed another screen. I typed Kiseki's name into it, and he appeared.

"KISEKI!!" I ran over to him and held him in my tight embrace, "I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE SAFE!!" I then glared at the air, "Beat that. Now all that's left is curing Null. Then I can focus on beating you!!"

"Haha, sure, good luck with that."

I looked down at Kiseki, "Are you alright?"

"Ma..Ma..ster.."

"No. It's Tenshi-aniki. Okay? Say it with me- Ten."

"T..Ten.."

"Shi."

"Sh..Shi."

"A."

"A.."

"Ni."

"Ni.."

"Ki."

"..Ki."

"Great! Now, all together. Tenshi. Aniki!"

"T..Ten..shi..ani..ki.. Tenshi-aniki.." I heard a sort of revelation in his voice.

He remembers me..

"..."

Why didn't.. Null remember me? When Kiseki had first transformed.. he was still able to say my name, but..

"That's right. Do you remember Null, Kiseki?"

"Nu..N-Ani..Aniki.."

I smiled softly, "That's right. But don't you worry- we'll get him back.."

"Ani..ki..Aniki.."

All right. Now we have to go to the second Water Tower..

"Huh?"

That's funny.. why are we in a desert? We were in the city just a little bit ago..

"!! St-Stay back – Tenshi-aniki!" Kiseki got in front of me, "D-Demon!" I looked past him, where indeed, two demons were swirling their tails around.

"No, Kiseki, you get behind me," I pushed him softly behind me and got out my sword. "Midnight-kun! Can you help me defeat these two?" I glanced at my bat, and he whined. "? Are you telling me the two of us can't beat them?" I glanced back at the demons.

True, they do seem stronger than us.. Midnight's just a little bat, and I am a novice in swords.. But!

I struck down, aiming for the weaker-looking one, "BEAT THIS!! MYSTICAL WATER!"

"NOW YOU'RE NAMING YOUR STUPID STRIKING?!!"

"Be quiet- this water is beautiful!" I hissed back at the voice. Midnight whined but struck towards the demon who looked more in control. He was smacked away. "M..Midnight.."

"Pathetic. You throw a little bat my way? Did you honestly think he could defeat me? Why don't you use that demon behind your legs, HUMAN?" Wind whooshed towards me, and I pressed my lips into a worried line, pushing Kiseki further behind me.

Midnight thrust towards that one.. I know Midnight is a fire type – he was able to communicate that to me after lots of miscommunication (I don't understand Bat ;-; ). Which means that demon is probably wind.. He's probably why wind keeps whooshing everywhere..

But..

What about the desert?

I glanced around me.

Wind is intelligence.. Is it possible this is his doing? Is it an illusion? Or did he teleport us here? Hmm..

I took a slow breath.

If he's wind.. my water sword won't be good..

I glanced warily at Kiseki.

I don't know what type he is.. but I don't want to have him fight.. if I can help it.

I gulped.

The sky is so beautiful..

"Tenshi-aniki?" a head popped into my vision, and I almost shot up.

"Uh, yes?" I blinked, first processing the fact that he had red eyes.

"A..Are you.. you okay?"

"? Yes.."

It was all starting to come back to me, and I sat up. A little ways away, both of the demons were on the ground, unconscious..

"... Did you do that?"

"Y..Yes."

"..I'm sorry."

"?"

I stood up and walked over.

That one.. The controller of this game said most demons are paired with the humans from the real world.. I know by the way he was talking and how he could control his powers, that the Wind one was an NPC. But the other.. the other.. I don't know if he's human or not..

I picked up Midnight, holding him in my embrace. I pet him, whispering apologies.

"He's fine. That demon only slapped him, you know. And I'm sure you've already figured this out, but the Fire Demon over there was once a human in your world."

Twitch.

"Another tip though- I recommend you gain control of Null-kun rather than curing him. After all, once you beat the game," he snickered, "if you can, that is, you'll be able to save three people. But during the game, you might encounter more demons like these two. And while Kiseki-chan seems to have great strength and control over his powers, Null-kun is probably even stronger, and these two you just faced are not the strongest to face. Additionally, this is a rare twosome. Most groups of a demon NPC and humans from the real world are three or four people. Sometimes even five – if I took a whole family that had three children. In other words, you'll face way more demons than just two sometimes. Especially if it's in a Wind Tower, where demons or monsters are called when you get an answer wrong."

"... No. I want Null. This isn't.. They aren't the same."

"... Suit yourself. But once you cure Null-kun, he won't be a demon anymore. He won't have those powers. Besides, you could probably teach him. The reason a new demon is paired with a regular demon is to learn. Eventually, they relearn how to speak, how to be patient, all of that. But, I suppose a human could teach a new demon.. With their talents, Null-kun and Kiseki-chan might even be able to control their eyes eventually. It's too bad that you're deciding to cure them now rather than later- I won't be able to find out if they're real prodigies. Speaking of those, be careful, Tenshi-kun," he chuckled, "There are demons who can control their eyes in this game of mine, and they're very powerful. Some of them.. the most powerful of all.. can even make their eyes look completely normal.. You may encounter a demon.. that looks like a totally normal human."

"... Thanks for the advice."

"Ah-ah-ah, I'm not finished! I'm sure you've been able to tell, but monsters and demons can normally sniff each other out. They even know what type the opponent is. But if a demon is truly strong, they may be able to conceal their aura and such, and nobody would be able to tell what species they are – never mind what type!"

"... I'll keep that in mind."

... He's right.. If I spent the time on Null and Kiseki, I could probably get them to be completely normal.. And I'm weak. If I.. face strong demons.. or actually, demons in general.. I'm doomed. I don't even know if I'd be able to defeat a new demon..

"So, if I taught them how to speak again, they'd be totally normal?" I clarified, "They would act normal; they would have their respective personalities?"

"Of course! However, they may have some tiny kinks in them. Such as stronger urges and such- they are demons after all! Ah, speaking of demons, Null-kun just encountered another demon. And it is NOT looking good." I froze.

"What?! Null's facing a demon?!"

"Tenshi, I really hope your boyfriend has a way with words, because that is a powerful demon."

-Nullie!- {Or actually, the P.O.V. is the demon he's facing.}

He was pathetic, honestly. It was clear. And he had no escort.

But I feel potential in him..

Let's see.. Ah. He has two that he cares about. A rare number, but the intensity of his feelings for those two is powerful. I can't exploit the one relationship since it's pure, but.. the other..

"Null!" I smiled.

Haha, this'll be fun. Maybe I can make this one into my toy.. It seems someone failed at getting him to go with an escort, but I'm sure that's because they just asked and let him deny. No tricks or even some devotion.

I doubt the demon even tried to get this one on his side. That's unfortunate.

Because now he'll be mine.
