If my boyfriend and his little brother were not possessed by some crazy weird disease or something, I would definitely make the most of this opportunity!!

But that doesn't matter. Null and Kiseki come first. If the angel's still here by the time I get them to snap out of it, THEN I can go meet him.

"Null! Kiseki! Come on!" I whined, "Snap out of it already!! Null, I want you to see this!!" I begged, "There's an angel right there!! See?!! I told you God was real!!"

"You won't get through to him. He can't hear you." I looked at the angel. His face was grim. I stared for a few seconds. I pressed my lips into a thin line.

"I can't accept that. I know you're an angel, but Null and Kiseki are so important to me.. I believe I can get them out of this state.."

"They're becoming demons."

"Then, I won't let them fall. I'll grab their hands and pull them over the cliff. ..even if it means.. I go under instead."

"..." The angel smirked, his image messing up as if he was on a broken t.v. "My, you ARE interesting. I'm glad I chose you three as part of my experiment. For your devotion, and because I'm sure you'll be quite amusing, Tenshi-kun, I'll tell you something. You're actually in a digital world. I'm testing out my virtual reality game on a select few. You, Null-kun, and Kiseki-chan are three of those special chosen ones.

"Null-kun and Kiseki-chan have been infected. Normally, this means that they are dead, but there are five ways to save an infected person. First, sacrificing yourself for another. You could choose one of them, grab their hand, and say 'I'm infected.' Then, that chosen person will be cured, and you will be infected. Another way is to make them succumb to you. But this is very difficult. The third way is to defeat me.

"Another way involves certain towers. There are multiple towers in this world that house monsters, demons, and God - or me," the person smirked, and I glared, "- knows what else is in it! If you clear a tower, you'll be able to cure a person of your choice. If you don't want to do that, each tower has specific treasures you can choose from. Each tower also has its own rules, way to beat the tower, and so on.

"The final way is to beat the game in its entirety. If you do this, you get to choose three people to save, or three treasures. Do you understand, Tenshi-kun?"

"You.. You're disgracing God's name and treating humans like toys!!"

"Why, yes, yes, I am."

"This isn't right!! I swear on my life, I'll get Null and Kiseki back to normal, and I'll beat this stupid game of yours!!"

"I look forward to it, Tenshi-kun. And so that you have a fair chance – because I doubt you can run all the way to a tower that you don't even know where it is – I'll teleport you there! Sound good?"

"W-Wait, what about Null and Kiseki?"

The person shrugged, "Who knows where they'll go until you finish beating the tower. I'll put you at Tower 1 then."

"W-Wai-"

Before I could finish the word, I was already in unfamiliar territory.

"Oh, and one last thing, Tenshi-kun!!" the person's voice echoed all around me, "Be careful and quick!! The real point of this game is for the demons to attack each other. They'll all be led by characters I created – as long as they accept them. But since Null-kun and Kiseki-chan already declined the help, they're on their own! Hehehe!"

I glared at the air.

Well.. I should get going.. I want to save Null and Kiseki.

I glanced to my left, where there was a tower. Above the tower's door was a 1.

Alright.. Let's get started then..

I peaked into the tower. No one.. good. I got in and looked around. Let's see.. Which way..?

I'll go.. this way!

I started running around the tower.

Strange.. where are the monsters he mentioned?

I stopped dead in my tracks.

A dead end..

But, why is there a podium here?

I walked up to the podium, looking at it thoroughly.

I picked up the papers, reading them.

Well, I guess this isn't a trap.. This seems to be a set of rules..

Goal of Tower 1: Get to the top. Simple, right? Haha.

Treasure of Tower 1: Power to control a demon of your choice, the Wind Sword, or a Map of all the other towers.

I twitched.

I can only choose one of these..? And can I still save Null even though it says I can only-

Wait.

If I saved Null.. Kiseki would be right next to him, most likely..

"Hey!! You!! Can I save a Chosen Treasure for later?!!"

"Haha, you realized, huh? The first Wind-Type Tower definitely fits you, Tenshi-kun!! As a matter of fact, you cannot! Which means if you choose to save one of your precious family members, chances are, they'd be eaten or re-infected! The three of you are lucky one of them hasn't already died! I told you, the real game that was supposed to go on was demons fighting each other. But, like you resisting infection, there are a few cases where that would not happen. Since you believe wholeheartedly in Christianity, you weren't infected, just like how Null-kun and Kiseki-chan aren't killing each other right now because they're so close. I was quite surprised when I saw Kiseki-chan follow Null-kun like that.

"Now, I'm sure you're wondering then, how are you supposed to save both? Really hit your brain on this one!! I'll tell you some things that might help you though. Each of the initial Towers have a sword of the type they are. And demons can be a really helpful ally! In most cases, demons are more helpful than a sword. But, even though this is the case, I highly recommend you take the map because I won't give you any more tower locations! Of course, that means Null-kun and Kiseki-chan have more time to wander around everywhere, but, eh." I gulped. "They are pretty far from other demons, I guess.. How about this, I'll tell you when they clash with another demon group, okay~? Because I'm nice."

"... Oi, you told me that you can restore someone once you clear a tower.. Why isn't that on the Treasure List?"

"Ah, yes, I forgot to tell you, didn't I? The three main types: Water, Fire, and Wind. Wind is intelligence. Water is healing. Fire is destruction. You are in a Wind Tower, so therefore, you can gain control of a demon. The next Tower is Water-Type. Water Towers are the only types that can restore a demon back into a human. And Fire's choice is to kill a demon. See where I'm going with this? That's the only Treasure that's similar throughout. Of course, there are other Types, but I won't tell you about those right now. The Map does list what type each Tower is, though. And I'm sure you already realized, but the types all react differently with each other. For example, water beats fire. Fire beats wind. And wind beats water. In fact, all the demons you'll encounter – and the monsters – all have a type. I won't tell you what type your precious friends are though. Alright, I've said enough. Bye-bye, Tenshi-kun!"

I glanced back down at the rules.

...I think I want.. the map. For now.

Rules: No cheating!

On each level of this tower, there will be a mental challenge. If you can pass it, great! If you can't, well, too bad!! A demon will be teleported here! You can try as many times as you like, but please note that the more times you fail, the more demons will be teleported! I hope you have some nice swords with you!

Oh, Lord, please help me to get the answers right in this tower..

I stuffed the rules under my arm and ran the other way.

Like anyone – besides little kids – could get one plus one wrong..

Although.. 'newbies' might get them wrong.. Null and Kiseki seemed really disoriented..

Alright.. Time to choose.

I stepped up to the technical podium and clicked Map. A backpack appeared on the podium. I looked into it, and it was empty, except for the map.

"For your journey, traveler!"

Again, I was startled by the female voice, but I took out the map and put the backpack on my back. I easily found the 2.

"Oi!"

"Yes?"

"When I cure Null, will he remember what happened?"

"Not even a question of a doubt, hm? No guesses? All right, well, the memories as a demon will be vague and faded if he's cured."

"So, I have to walk a few miles, huh?" I deadpanned.

"Haha, yes, sorry if you haven't been very active lately, Tenshi-kun. But, if it makes it any better, the third Towers have things to help with that. The Water Tower has a submarine!"

Looking at the location of the tenth Water Tower, I can see why..

Alright, well, I better get going.

I stuffed the map into the backpack and headed off.

Luckily, this world is a replica of our world.. Just with.. random.. wastelands every once in a while.. with Towers..
