18: Why
KLANK!
Gale flinched as he heard metal sheets collapse. He was at the school's main building, the second floor; he came from the library to print a project.
"Huh!?" He ran to the window, and saw an ocean of broken concrete, dust, dirt, and well... metal sheets. There was a giant yellow excavator, and there were people standing on the debris. "What..?"
It looked intentional, but Gale felt something was wrong.
Something really, really wrong.
He bolted down the stairs towards the flob. There was a force compelling him to.
This isn't supposed to happen.
He reached the ground floor. Instead of finding the usually hall to the flob, it was sealed off with a blue metal wall. There was another round of clanging.
We're supposed to be fine!
He looked for another way to the other side. His heart was racing way too fast.
Actually, why—?
He ran to the stair landing before the second floor and found a set of stairs.
They can't be here.
He made his way down them, but the wall just stretched on for forever.
What—
"AH!" Gale rolled off his bed, falling onto the ground. "I SWEAR—!"
"HUH!?" John fell off his bed, too.
"Why won't the news say what the weather will be?" Tonito whined.
"It's only three, Gale." Jeff sighed.
"I..." Gale trailed off.
Why did I wake up? He blinked, clutching his head. I can't remember that... All I can remember is running... Maybe we were playing football...
"Let's go back to sleep." He shrugged, and climbed up the ladder. He laid down on his bed.
What did I even dream? He asked himself right before he was pulled back to sleep.

"I SWEAR!" Andy grabbed the blackboard eraser from the board ledge once he entered the room. The drawing was still there, despite it being a new day. "I'M ERASING THIS... this... THING."
"Sir Neil actually said he liked the drawing, even if he was against Knuckles." Allan said.
"I don't care." Andy started to erase the left wing.
"No!" JC pushed Andy away. "Please, just leave it alone! Even the other sections like it!"
"..."
"ANDY!" Denise crawled towards him.
"What the hell, Denise!?" Gale jumped as Denise crawled under him.
"CAN I SIT UNDER KARA'S CHAIR???" Denise asked, plopping himself next to his master.
Andy blinked.
"Oh, my dear Pokemon..." He bent down and slapped him. "What the hell is wrong with you."
"Wheeee!" Denise stood up and waddled back to his seat to get his 101st orange juice. He accidentally hit Carl, making him fall onto James' lap.
"Mhhm kinky!" Denise paused to look at them ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and continued waddling.
"I SWEAR DENISE." Carl yelled, fixing his glasses. "Andy! You have to return your Pokemon into the Pokeball!"
James sat awkwardly still as Gale laughed.
"He destroyed it, though." Andy shrugged.
"What do you mean he destroyed it!?" Carl asked as he got up.
"Oh look." Gale said. "Denise is under Kara's chair."
"Wheeee!" Denise cheered as Kara started to bring out another weapon of mass destruction: the fan.
After realizing Kara had a fan, Julia decided to split the power of the weapon among their fans. If one ever got lost (which was what happened to Julia two days ago) and fell into the wrong or stupid hands, then the universe wouldn't be 100% obliterated.
"Oi!" RD ran to Denise. "That place is reserved for—"
Jabari grabbed RD, placed him on his shoulders, and walked out of the room. Jared trailed behind them.
"Denise..." Kara waved her fan, and he scrambled away.
"Hmm..." Denise walked towards Ava's chair.
"No." She glared at him.
"Wheee!" Denise, instead of going under her chair, leaped onto her table.
"GET THE FRICK OFF!" Ava yelled at him.
"This is one of the days I drank too much~" Denise laughed, skipping out of the classroom.

Another haul of classes passed, and it was now their Universal Break.
The dormers went to the cafeteria for food first, then joined the rest of their classmates at the Friendship Grandstand.
"Huh?" Ciel looked over to the left side of the grandstand. "Why are the girls over there? Shouldn't they join us?"
"They're sharing their secrets; we're sharing ours." Andy smiled as innocent as a sadist could.
"Actually, who wants to play frisbee?" JC stood up from the circle the boys had made without the others.
"Me!" Jay and Gavin yelled at the same time. The former ran down the grandstand with JC, and the latter grabbed his frisbee.
"Hey, I wanna join, too!" Gale called after them and ran as they stepped onto the field.
"Same!" Ciel trailed behind him.
Fun fact: Ultimate Frisbee is really popular in Gale's current school. Sadly, not socc— football :<
"Gale!" Gavin yelled, throwing the frisbee towards him.
Gale reached for it, but it flew past his hand. Ciel caught it instead.
"Whoops!" Gale said, running faster away from and turning to Ciel to grab a second chance of catching the frisbee.
"Ciel!" Jay yelled. "You're my evil twin! Pass it to me! Or am I the evil one? Or is Diego my twin— HEY! YOU THREW IT TOO HIGH! YOU KNOW WE'RE BOTH SHORTER THAN THEM!"
"Actually," JC said as he caught the frisbee. He passed it to Jay. "You two are one of the shortest in the class. Also, you threw the frisbee wrong. It isn't supposed to be spinning like that."
"Okay... I still need practice—"
"Same." Gale said. If Gavin and JC trained Jay, then maybe they'll help Gale and Ciel out.
"But the other thing's not true!" Ciel growled. "Cheese Roll is the shortest!"
"I said 'one of'!" JC exclaimed.
"Hmph." Jay rolled his eyes, then tossed the frisbee towards Gavin, who seized it with ease.
"Gale, here." He passed it to him less fiercely than how he did earlier.
Gale caught it, but it wasn't as smooth as he wanted. He threw it towards JC—
"CAN I JOIN?" RD jumped in front of JC, stealing the frisbee.
"RD," Gavin yelled. "That's my cousin's! Be careful."
"Yeah, yeah." RD nodded.
"How many of us actually play fr—"
"Gale..!" Jay was interrupted as somebody called the name. They looked at Jason: the one who was calling him, and the guy running for president in Gale's party (if you even remember him).
"I'll just..." Jason grabbed Gale's hand and dragged him away.
"MHHM SHADY BUSINESS!" Denise yelled.
Carl said something inaudible.

"So..." Jason brought Gale over to an area near the field with gazebos. Their other party members— the secretary, treasurer (the only one running for that position; maybe he'll get an auto-win), and auditor— were there, too.
"Why did you literally drag me across the field?" Gale laughed.
"The Miting de Avance is next week, UB, and it will be held at the third floor auditorium." Jason started. "We need to get ready. We need to settle our plans and motives."
"...And we need a serious sort of campaigning compared to..." The secretary shivered, for she remembered Gale's dinosaur video.
