Chapter 7: The Plan
After explaining the plan to Balthazar, the group circled up. Two angels, a demon, and two archangels. It certainly seemed like enough power.
"Now what?" Gabriel questioned.
"Focus your power," Castiel guessed. "Make we can try and tear a hole in the Empty."
So they all focused every last bit of power on the small scratch in the Empty, willing it to turn into a portal they could use to get home.
That amount of power had effects on more then just the Empty though.

Dean and Sam had been on a beer run when the rain started. It had gone from being a bright sunny day to one where the clouds in the sky were dark enough to eat your soul. It happened fast enough to give the boys flashbacks of Amara and her Darkness, but then the rain started. Pouring down instantly, soaking them both as they ran to the car and headed back for the bunker, soaked.
"Weird," Dean frowned. When weather acted up like that, it was usually a sign of something.
"Good! You're back," Mary declared.
"It is raining like crazy out there," Sam commented.
"Weird. The forecast said it was supposed to be clear all week."
"Uh.... guys?" They turned towards Jack, who was holding a laptop and frowning.
"What's wrong?" Dean questioned.
"I don;t know much about weather," Jack admitted. "But somehow I don't think it's supposed to be raining around the whole world at once." He set the laptop down for them to look at.
Weather forecasts from all over the globe were on various tabs on the computer, everyone talking and showing clips of rain pouring down all at once. There didn't seem to be a dry area anywhere.
"That can't be good." Sam muttered.
"Sammy," Dean whispered. "You don't think...." Sam and Jack glanced up.
"Is that even possible?" Jack asked.
"I don't know." Sam admitted.
"Is what possible?" Mary questioned.
"What if the reason why the whole world is raining," Dena explained. "Is because of something to do with Cas in the Empty?" They paused.
".....I'm gonna go check the lore again." Sam offered.
"I'll start googling." Dean declared.
"I'll dig out the files!" Jack volunteered.
"I'll start the coffee," Mary sighed.

There was a faint crack, illuminating the dark Empty with blue light. All of them were straining to keep it open, to open it wide enough so that they'd have time to break through.
"Just a bit more..." Gabriel muttered, but then Crowley was thrown away from the circle, breaking it. The crack started to go out.
"I said NO ONE IS LEAVING," The Empty snarled. It snapped its fingers, and three more black figures emerged, and launched at the angels as the crack grew thinner and thinner.
"Cassie," Gabriel said instantly. "Sam. Does he even care about me?"
"Uh, not the time!" Cas insisted.
"Just answer me!" The archangel demanded.
"Yes!" Cas declared. Sam was obsessed with Gabriel for reasons he didn't even understand. "He loves you, Gabe."
The dark figures of the Empty crept closer, and Gabriel glanced at the crack.
"Tell him I always thought he was cute." He proclaimed, before shoving Castiel at the crack, zapping him out of the Empty as the figures lunged for them.
