John's Pov

"Gideon, what's this anachronism? " Sara asks the intellectual robot " Captin Lance, it seems that we have a murderer on the lose in 1989. he wears a mask" the familiar robot sounding voice echoes throughout the room bouncing of the walls of Waverider " NO WAY!. Oh my god, it's Freddy Myers, the prom night killer" Ava shouts and we all look at her, for someone who doesn't have a real childhood or any real memories she's got one messed up mind.

Sara's pov

"NO WAY!. Oh my god, its Freddy Myers, the prom night killer" I hear my girlfriend all but scream, its so loud that the echo is ringing through my ear drums, I turn towards her with a smirk replacing my usual blank expression " am I going to find a murder board in your closet?" she turns to me with a ' you might if you look' look plastered on her face. If I looked in a mirror a look of shock would defiantly be there. Anyways to the task at hand "lets go to prom" I shout which morally that means that they should get into their seats and get ready, so everyone does just that. Ava sits on my right so if I wanted I can sneak glances at her for the ship is really just controlled by Gideon which is good because of the fact I cant keep my eyes of Ava.

Ava's pov

"I'm so excited, I'm going to catch a murderer" I mutter out it sounded very incoherent so I'm surprised if anyone even understood my murmured sentence " Babe, you are way to excited " Sara whispered in my ear sending shivers down my spine. My comms "can I eat the food" Mick's voice says although it is evident in his voice that he has something in his mouth " when have you ever asked before doing something" I ask in a questioning tone "Okay, that's true" he states.

Sara's pov

A slow song started and everyone found their assigned partners I walk over to Ava may I have this dance" I say to Ava, she nods and takes my hand to lead me to the dance floor where I can see the legends: Nate and Zari, Ray and Nora. Mick's date is the buffet. Then as soon as the song is finishes all the lights cut out and it goes uncomfortably quiet and I hear a whisper " play time is over, gear up" ava says through the comms. Everything is quiet until a blood-curdling scream is heard "EVERYONE STAY CALM" I yell out, a tap on my shoulder made me turn and grab the attackers hand, I know it's not ava or any of the other legends. I grab his hand and twist and flip his body twisting his arm in the process "what the hell!" Freddy exclaims "so Freddy will you make this easy or will I have to hurt you" no reply "good choice, Ava would you be so kind and do the honours" my girlfriend comes over to Freddy Myers " you are under arrest everything you say can and will be used against you in court" he spat out a few different chains of slur words "come here babe" I usher to my girlfriend into my arms and then I remember something important about today "Happy birthday Aves" I say as I pull her towards me in a sweet chaste kiss. I feel a presence of someone watching me, well us "what?" I question forgetting where I am for a second "were still at the prom and should go home now" mick states, for someone who either drinks beer all day or reads mick is very intelligent. We all wait for Ava to press the time courier before we exit the gym that is packed full of clueless teenagers and teachers that have no life. When we get back to the waverider we all grab a beer and start celebrating Ava's birthday, that's when Constantine came over to us and handed us a potion "if you ever want kids a bit of this can make either of you pregnant with DNA of both of you, Happy birthday Ava" he say, returning to the group who were at the kitchen island. I turn towards Ava " I'll be back in a second" I mutter in her ear "is everything alright?" Ava asks me concern lacing the words, I nod yes and go and get the ring. As I'm walking back to Ava I realise my hands are shaking and my palms are clammy, I tighten my grip on the velvet box. "Hey babe, are you sure your okay? your skin is really flushed?" I nod not trusting my voice, knowing it would likely be ten octaves to high and would make this so much harder especially trying to explain the change of tone to the others. We sit down and talk for a little while when I decide its time to ask the question that has been the occupant of my attention all day, I clear my throat and turn towards Ava "um, I have a question that is really important to me and has been on my mind all day" I pause as I feel my face heat up " I guess what I'm saying is that this is the most important thing I will ever do" I get down on one knee, I see Ava's expression its a mix of happiness and shock the tear in her eyes are happy and as long as I'm making her happy I'm content "Ava Sharpe, will you marry me?" I hope that she says yes but I don't know if she will, when I see a small nod and she starts sobbing I know the answer "is that a yes?" I ask her "yeah, I'll marry you" she says as I stand up she pulls me into a sweet kiss I hear gasps while this is happening, when we break apart from our kiss and turn towards the others "It's about time, you guys are always so timid when it came to your relationship" Mick states everyone turns towards him pulling a face "What? I'm very observant" Mick says. "Anyway I'm going to hit the sack" he turns to leave "oh and for the sake of the rest of us on this ship make sure Gideon makes you walls soundproof" he says as he move to the sleeping quarters "okay I think were of to bed as well" Nora and Roy state heading in the same direction that Mick, Nate and Zari agree and follow the others. I turn to Ava "you want to see if that potion works" I ask my fiancée she nods and grabs the potion as we went for our room as we enter Gideon says something to us "Hello Miss Lance, Miss Sharpe i have set the walls to soundproof"
