Alex's POV-

Why?
Why did it have to come at this time?

I fucking hate storms.

John had went downstairs to retrieve a few more boxes.
And he left me with his turtle, at our shared room.

I groaned as the dark night sky filled with grey clouds, making it a tad bit lighter.

I scooped up Alex from his tank and sat on my already-made bed. I rubbed his shell as the rain started pouring down the windows.

And suddenly, there it was. The storm.
I took out my notebook from my bag

A flash of lightning

Is extremely frightening.

A loud rumble

Indicates trouble.

Every single thunderstorm I would try to write until I couldn't.

And this is one of them.

I stopped writing since I was hyperventilating and shaking that I dropped my pen and notebook. Ihid under my covers, sobbing with Alex, and remembering horrible memories about the hurricane...

-flashback-

"James!" I cried, as another wave pushed me away from my brother. "I'm c-coming!"

"Alex!" I saw James head poke out of the water. We were swimming, the whole town, trying to reach for air as the hurricane passed by. "No, don't-"

"JAMES I CAN'T LEAVE YOU!" I sobbed. I tried my best to swim towards James, who was trying to climb to a branch slipping every once in a while.

"COME HERE!" He shouted, his voice being muffled by all the rain and thunder. "ALEX!"

I was pushed down deep into the water. I felt like drowning.

But I felt James around me.

We both swam to a building. I coughed up all the water.

"T-Thank you, James..." I smiled, embracing my older brother.

"Anytime, mon petite leon- ALEX WATCH OUT!" James screamed as he pushed me out of our embrace and pushed me farther away from him.

A tree collapsed on James.

My brother, James.

He was there, losing a lot of blood every second. The tree did much damage.

I scrambled up to my feet and ran towards him.

"JAMES!" I screeched. I tried to stop the blood from flowing.

"J-JaMes." I sobbed. I felt a hand run through my hair.

"a-alex..."

"James!" I cried, letting the waterworks flow. But it would hardly make any difference to the rain.

"A-Alex..." He murmured. "S-stay s-safe." He coughed, letting tears cloud his eyes.

"I love you..."

I let out an ear-piercing scream as I feel my brother's body go limp.

My brother.

Lifeless.

Dead.

Just for me...

-flashback over

John's POV-

I opened our new Junior Penthouse door and brought in my last few boxes, containing my art supplies.

Then I heard a small whimper coming from down the hall...

oh no...

I dropped my boxes by the coffee table and rushed to my-our room.

My assumptions were correct. I assumed it was Alex.

He was there, curled up on his bed, crying.

I took Alex, the turtle, from his arms and went to Alex.

"Alex...Shhh..."I cooed. He was sobbing quietly, yet shaking violently.

"J-James..." He whispered.

James?

Who the heck is James?

I hugged Alexander, cooing encouraging things at his ear.

"Shhh... Alex." I whispered as I ran my fingers through his silky hair, in attempt to calm him down. "Shh... Lexi, shh. I'm here."

He opened his eyes and saw me. I weakly smiled.

"I'm s-sorry-" He looked down.

"Shh... No, Alex. It's okay..." I whispered. I made circles at his back to make him stop crying, which worked after a while.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm s-scared." He looked out of the window and hid his face at my chest as a flash of lighgning illuminated the dark sky.

"Sh... It's okay. I'm here."

I heard a whimper.

I guess it's not really the best time to ask, but I asked, anyway. "W-Who's James?"

Alex looked up and leaned at my shoulder. "My brother..."

"Ah, right..." I said. "Sorry..."

"I'm sorry..." He whispered, a few tears rolling down. He placed his chin on his knees.

"Why?" I looked at him, concerned.

"I'm s-such a burden." He hid his face, now, at his knees, but the sudden thunder made him snuggle up next to me.

"Alex." I whispered. "You're not a burden at all."

"But-"

"Your past may be a burden." I sadly chuckled. "But your past isn't who you are. You're Alexander Hamilton. And... I love you for that."

I weakly smiled. Alex blushed and dug his face at my chest.

"John!" He whined, smiling.

"Cute." I grinned, running my hand through his hair, once more.

"No, you ar-" But he was already interrupted by his own snores.

"Aww..." I placed him down, on his pillow and went to get up to my bed but was pulled back at my wrist.

"S-Stay?" I turned my head to see Alex frowning.

I nodded and snuggled up to Alexander.

"Te amo." He whispered and went back to sleep, smiling.

"Te amo..." I whispered. But, I hardly think he heard it since his too-cute-to-handle snored indicate that he's asleep.

God, Alexander. Why are you so...

Perfect?

-next day-

I felt Alex stir at my arms, which caused me to wake up.

It's still dark outside. What caused Alex to wake up?

Then I heard the squeal that cannot be mistaken to be anyone else's, but Peggy.

"LAMS!!! LAMS!!! LAMS!!!" She squealed, her voice getting fainter, presumably to wake up the others.

Welp. Caught.
