"John?" Alex called. "Where's my laptop?"

Alex looked for his precious valuable around the apartment. He was going in circles and panic was rising inside him.

"I'm not telling~" John responded, from the kitchen.

"Oh, come on!" Alex walked into the kitchen and cross his arms. "Please? You promised yesterday!"

He smirked. "From what I recall, I told you you can have it in the morning."

"And can I?"

"Not yet," John answered. "In the meantime, breakfast?" He slid a plate of his signature pancakes across the table.

"Mm..good enough," Alex shrugged and sat down before devouring the pancakes. He sighed. "Never gets olds."

"Slow down, Lex," John looked at him worriedly.

"But I don't want to waste such precious time that just slips out of our hands!" Alex pouted.

"Eh, good point," He said, before sipping coffee. The two fell in silence, not knowing how to start a conversation.

"JOHN, WHERE ARE YA!?"

Peggy's POV-

I climbed up the fire escape quickly, panting. I finally saw Alex and John's door, and blasted through it.

"JOHN, WHERE ARE YA!?" I screamed. I ran around the apartment, trying to  find John.  I came across the kitchen and saw John and Alex eating breakfast. John looked bewildered. 

"Pegs, why are you here?" Alex asked.

John stared at me because of my odd entrance. I smiled nervously. He grumbled, "I need more padlocks."

"I just have the most bittersweet tea ever!" I exclaimed, ignoring John's comment.

"I prefer coffee," Alex mumbled.

"I mean the 'gossip' tea. Not the tea you drink."

John crossed his arms. "Can you first please explain why you went through our fire escape?"

"I'm getting onto that - you see, Angie's over Paine!"

"Oh, okay. So?" Alex stood up and went to make coffee.

"Peggy's convinced Paine's the one who nearly killed you," John explained.

"Don't you do too?" I asked with a frown.

"Uh, I guess so," John mumbled. "But, yeah, that's great!"

"Yes, and do you know how?"

"Of course not, Pegs-"

"SHE'S LITERALLY OVER HIM! LITERALLY! HEAD OVER HEALS OR WHATEVER!" I interrupted. "SHE BROUGHT ME OVER TO HIS APARTMENT DOWNSTAIRS AND TOLD ME THAT THEY'RE FUCKING DATING AGAIN SOMEHOW! I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS SHIT HAPPENED BUT IT DID AND WHEN I LEFT I THINK I SAW HER ALL OVER HIS STUPID FACE! I ESCAPED VIA FIREPLACE AND CLIMBED UP HERE!" I panted. I was just so furious!

"Calm, calm," Alex said softly. Sorry, Alex, but no calm for me!

"My god..." John muttered, speechless.

"Yes, such sweet for Angelica to find a relationship bUT WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE HIM!?" I yelled and pouted.

"Is Eliza with you?"

"Yeah, I am," Eliza suddenly appeared beside me and smiled. "Used the elevator and the spare key."

"Thank goodness," John sighed. "Help your sister, please."

"You talkin' to me or Pegs?"

"You."

"Talkin' about Angie or Pegs?"

"Both."

"I'm fineeee!" I whined.

"You just had a full-on rant, Peggy, I think not," Alex deadpanned.

I groaned. "Okay, I'm not, but just because Angie's insane."

"She's not insane, she merely...lost sanity," Eliza mumbled. That's the same thing, Liza. I facepalmed.

"Yep. Well, we can't do anything about it, can we?" John sighed.

She shook her head. "No, I reckon we can't-"

"Unless we can spy on them!" I grinned. "Like y'all did on their first date." I gestured to John and Alex.

John chuckled. "Brings good memories."

"Worth a shot," Alex said. "and may bring back my memory."

"Great!" I squealed.

"Shh, Peggy, stop laughing!"

"I'm sorry, Liz," I giggled. "This is just so exciting!"

"Pegs, I swear, I'm gonna tape your mouth with duct tape if you blow our cover," John glared at me.

I gave a sheepish laugh. "Nah, I'll pass."

We were, as intended, spying on Angelica and Paine, except they weren't at a cafe. Instead, the couple was having a stroll around the park long after dark.

"What time do y'all reckon they're just gonna stop?" I asked. "I don't wanna go walking and crouching repeatedly. It's getting pretty tiring."

John hummed. "Around 9 PM probs. Your father would be looking for you guys."

"Possibly," Eliza shrugged. "Oh - look!" She pointed over a fountain we were hiding behind at.

John, Alex and I noticed that the pair was headed back their way. I ducked behind John in a hurry, not wanting to get caught. John sighed and motioned us to stay quiet. 

Angelica sighed. "Look, Thomas, I have to go now. My father and sisters must be looking for me."

"Of course, darling." We heard Paine answer. "But, do you mind if I walk you home? I just want to keep you safe, and my mother told me to follow my dreams." Angelica laughed.

"Ew, they're so cheesy!" I exclaimed, pretending to gag.

"Peggy, is that you!?"

Oh shit.

I smiled innocently. "Uh oh." Alexander glared at me, and John took out his duct tape.

I am in very big trouble, aren't I?

"John, I won't need the duct tape," Angelica said as soon as she found them. "May I speak to all of you?"

Eliza nervously nodded. Angelica started walking towards the exit of the park, Paine tailing behind. We hesitated, yet followed her too. Angelica lead us to an abandoned alley just outside the park.

"How many times do I have to tell you guys to stop spying on me? Have you ever heard of privacy?! Just let me fucking be. This is my life, and I would appreciate if y'all just stop this!"

"Look, Angie, we just want to keep you safe..." Eliza mumbled.

"I am not a child anymore who needs help. Hell, I'm even older than all of you! I can look after myself-"

"I got this, Liza," I said firmly. "Alright, Angelica. Say it all you want,  but it seems like you can't. Do you even know this guy?! Sure, you do, but do you know what he did? We just want to make sure you won't die! A lot of shit has already happened this year 2020, and this just makes it worse." John and Alex nodded.

"What does she mean by 'do you know what he did'?" Paine nervously chuckled, looking at Angelica.

She sighed. "Peggy's convinced-" I glared at her. She continued,  "They're convinced that you're an evil mastermind who wants to kill us, first starting with John. Of course, that was an accident, right? Then, plotting a way to kill, Alex. But that was just an assumption, it's not true! At least, I think it isn't. Peggy thinks-"

"I knowwww!" I said.

"Peggy 'knows' that you're mad at how Alex was able to survive that, being a survivor of death two times before! And know she thinks that you're planning another way to one by one, if not all at once, killing us all. We have no idea what your motive is, that's because there's none! Therefore Peggy is constantly asking us all what may be your motive is. I know there's none, right?" Angelica asked, out of breath.

Paine chuckled and smiled. "I have one thing to say."

"You're not a bad guy?" She grinned.

"Your sister is a very smart kid."
