Yes.
An update.
Finally-

-one month later :D-

"Alex, let's go!" John called.

"I'm coming!" Alex smiled, standing up from his bed.

Alex moved back in his apartment a week after Burr and Theodosia got married. He was currently occupying the spare bedroom, since sleeping in the same room with John would be awkward.

He cleaned up his old journals and stacked them neatly on his desk. He had been reading them, to see if he could regain any trail of memory.

"You ready?" John asked, as Alex entered the living room.

"Yep," Alex said.

The 'couple' went outside of their apartment and into the elevator.

Alex fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as they went down the elevator.

"Hey," John whispered, tapping Alex's arm. "You okay?"

"I'm scared," Alex mumbled, looking up at John. "What if..."

"Yeah?"

"What if I don't get my memories back?"

John frowned, and wrapped and arm around Alex's shoulder.
Which was totally platonic.

"Don't think about the 'what if's," John said. "Just believe and try. You'll get there, soon. And even if you don't-"

"That's not helping, John."

"I'm just saying if you don't, we'll still be your friends. Of course you'll get them back eventually."

John thought, Yeah...friends. Ha, I just got friendzoned by myself-

"Thank you," Alex smiled.

"Of course."

They exited the elevator and went outside the building.

"Spot number one, here we come..." John grinned, walking alongside Alex. "Ooh, that rhymes!"

Alex laughed, shaking his head and followed John to wherever they were going.

~~×~~

"What is this place?" Alex asked, looking up at the big white building.

"King's College!" John smirked. "This is where we graduated."

"Ohhhh," He said. "Well, it's grande."

"Yes, it is - wait, what did you say?" John looked at him.

"I said, it's grande," He repeated.

"Grande?"

"Grande," Alex nodded, a little confused.

He beamed and proceeded to hug Alex tightly.

"John - I - need - aIr,"  He gasped.

"Right, sorry," John mumbled, letting go.

"What's so surprising?" Alex asked.

"You said 'grande'!"  He squealed.

"So? Elaborate please for me and the readers."

"Bye, wall - it means that your language skills are coming back!" John chuckled.

"I was bilingual?"

"Trilingual. English, French, and Spanish. I'll call Lafayette if he can come to our place later. Now, let's get inside and explore the campus." He said, earning a nod from Alex.

They entered the building and made a beeline to the Front Desk.

"Hey, Pegs," John smiled.

"It's no fair that I have a year left in college," Peggy pouted.

"'Hey, John! Great to see you. How are you? Showing Alex around, right?' would be nice to hear." He grumbled.

"Sorry," Peggy giggled. "But, it's no fair. Anyway, I talked to Mr. Washington already, says it would be fine. Hey, Alex." She waved, noticing him.

"Hi. I didn't know you were still in college.."

"Well, unfortunately, I am," She frowned. "And I joined a student volunteer club, at least that's what I think, and now I have a part-time job. Actually, I was the one who helped you when you arrived here."

"Wasn't it Aaron?" John asked.

"Also him, but I defs did most of it." She joked.

"You sure - ?"

"Anyway, off ya go. I have a job to fulfill, byee!" She laughed nervously.

Alex and John looked at each other for a moment and shrugged, bidding goodbye to Peggy and walking towards the Law Building.

"You studied Law and absolutely loved debating so, we'll go there," John said.

"Won't there be classes?" Alex asked.

"It's a Sunday, Alex..." He mumbled, looking at him uncertainly.

"Oh."

They entered the building and started wandering around, stopping every few minutes for John to explain or take a break.

"King's College seems amazing.." Alex said after the tour was finished.

"It is," John nodded. "Remember anything?"

"No..not really."

"That's alright, we still have a few more places to see," He chirped.

"Alright. Onwards!" Alex yelled, following John once more and causing a few students to stare.

~~×~~

"Why are we at a coffee shop?" Alex asked.

"Because you love coffee! I mean, you use to, at least," John said.

"Ohh."

"You used to steal coffee at me and Herc's dorm - yes we were dorm mates. You were a coffee addict and would almost never sleep."

"Whoa." Alex gaped, not expecting that.

"Let's have you try black coffee."

"Aight."

They entered the shop and found Sally behind the counter.

"Hey." John grinned, tapping the counter with his fingers to a beat.

"Hey there, John. Alex," She nodded at the two. "1 cream, 5 sugars and black?

"Indeed."

"Comin' right up." She said.

"Thanks," Alex said, pulling John to the other side of the counter and longing for some coffee.

"Eager bird, aren't you?" John laughed.

"Yes, don't mind me. I'd like some coffee."

"Kay."

They waited for a few minutes until their orders finally arrived.

"For John Laurens?" A familiar voice yelled.

"That's me." He said, getting the coffees from the barista and handing one to Alex.

"Hey, you're Paine..." John mumbled.

"Yeah, sorry about the car crash again," Paine said.

"Man, that was in the past. It's all fine."

He turned to face Alex. "Hey, Alex. I heard about the.."

"Yeah," He frowned, sipping his coffee. "Though I am loving this black coffee-"

"Ha," John grinned.

"Well, I hope you get your memory back," Paine said, looking at Alexander straight in the eye.

Alex felt a sharp pain in his head as he stared back at the black beady eyes. They were awfully familiar.

Alex tried not to wince, and was successful as John didn't notice.

"I...yeah, thank you," Alex said slowly, eying Paine suspiciously.

"Well, we best be off," John smiled.

"Yeah, see ya," Paine waved as the two went away.

Alex looked back at him for a moment, thinking about the ominous moment.

~~×~~

"Baskin and... Robbins?"

"Yep!" John grinned. "We used to hang out here all the time."

"Wow," Alex said.

"Well, come on. Let's head inside," He  said, pulling Alex inside.

"Hey, guys, haven't seen y'all in a while," Larry said from behind the counter.

"Who's he?" Alex asked, making Larry raise an eyebrow.

"Well, we have some..bad news," John mumbled. "Long story short, Alex got pushed off a building, 40 feet high, and got amnesia now we need to regain his memories."

"Oh," Larry frowned. "I wish you good luck."

"Thank you."

"The usual?"

"Yes, thanks," John smiled, walking towards a corner. Alex followed suit.

"What was my favorite ice cream flavor?" Alex asked, once they were seated.

"Ah," He smirked. "You had a love for cookies and cream."

"Oooh."

"Here ya go. Free of charge," Larry smiled, handing the two ice cream cups to John and Alex.

"Oh, well, thanks, Larry. You sure?" John asked.

"Yes, I'm sure. Have a lovely day," He retreated back to his previous position, behind the counter.

"I get why I love this.."Alex mumbled, wolfing down the ice cream.

"Whoa there," John laughed.

"It's delicious."

He narrowed his eyes and whispered, "Mint is better."

"Whatever you say," He said, in a singsong manner.

"C'mon. Let's go before the sun begins to set. It's nearly eight," John said, checking his watch.

"Where to next?"

"You'll see."

~~×~~

"What is this place?" Alex mumbled, admiring the sight.

"This is uhm," John paused, getting nervous. "where we had our..."

"Our...?"

"Firstdate." John blurted out.

"Oh. Is this a..."

"No, at least, I don't think so. I mean, it depends on you - 'cause, I'd like - wait no - love it to be one, I mean, agh - you probably don't even like me - frick, did I say that out loud? I - uh," John ranted, his face flushing deep red.

"Calm down, John," Alex chuckled, putting a hand on said boy's shoulder.

"Sorry," He mumbled, looking down.

"It's fine," He weakly smiled. "Though the sunset is beautiful."

John perked up, and got slightly blinded by the sunlight.

"It is," He nodded in agreement.

And the two watched the sun slowly set and the horizon grow darker peacefully.
