John's POV-

"JOHN FUCKING LAURENS?!" The girl repeated again.

"SALLY FUCKING HEMMINGS?!" I mocked and smiled.

"It's been so long!" Sally came around the bar and hugged me tight. " I GET TO SEE MY GAY SON AGAIN!!!" She screamed.

"Your son?" Herc crossed his arms and made his way towards us. "Me and Laf adopted these kids." He said, gesturing to Alex, me, Peggy and Maria.

"He was my son first!" Sally screamed.

"And now he is mine!" Herc yelled.

I sighed and stepped up in between them. "I'm nobody's. Though, I am Herc's child." I laughed. "Sorry, Sally."

"You're Alex's." Peggy smirked.

"The fuck, guys." I exclaimed.

"What!?" Sally gasped. "Who taught my child to swear?"

"Uhm..." I looked at her. "You."

"A very nice influence for my child." Herc snarled.

"I'm no one's-"

"My child!"

"Quiet!" I chuckled. "And Herc, don't tell me you're lying that you were also a bad influence to me."

Sally gasped and wrapped her arms around me. "YOU!?"

"Chillax...He only brought me to the bar once..."

"A week." I laughed.

"What!?" She screamed, once more.

"Don't worry, that was just high school-"

"YOU BROKE THE LAW!" Sally...tend to follow rules. But if you know her as well as me, she's not... exactly like that. She held me closer. The group gave us weird looks.

"I'm not trying to seduce him. I'm straight as John." She laughed.

"You're my child now!" Herc smiled and hugged Sally. "Welcome to the..." Herc turned around and counted. "One, two, three, four, five, and a half..."

He finally stated, "The 5 and a Half gays!" He laughed.

"Nice to meet y'all!" Sally grinned. "Jack, let's talk later when my shift is over."

I nodded and headed back to the table, utterly forgetting my drink.

"Who's that...?" Eliza asked, curious.

"Oh. That's my childhood friend back in South Carolina, before I moved up here to New York." I smiled.

"She seems... Nice." Angelica said.

"Oh, believe me, once you get to know her, she's nothing like that." I laughed.

Once Sally's shift was over - and we all got our drinks - she came over and sat between me and Hercules.

"Hi, y'all. As you probably know, I'm Sally Hemmings." She waved to all of us.

"Hercules Mulligan." Herc smiled.

"Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette." Laf chuckled at his long name as we all groaned.

"Oh uhm, Marie...er...Lafayette?" Sally nervously chuckled.

"Just call him Lafayette or Laf." Peggy, who was sitting beside me, crossed her arms playfully. "I'm Peggy!"

"No, no, no!" Angelica said. She sang, "Angelica!"

"Eliza!" Eliza sang next.

"AND PEGGY!" She screamed.

Alex laughed. "The Schuyler Sisters. Hello, I'm Alex."

Sally slightly leaned over to me and whispered, "So this is Alex who Peggy was talking about..."

I blushed pink at the memory and nodded. "Yeah."

"He's a keeper." She winked and went back to her normal position as I, on the other hand, blushed darker and quickly drank water in hope for it to die down.

"So...how did you and John meet?" Eliza sighed dreamily.

Peggy snickered. I whispered, "What?" while Sally explained that we were family friends and often visited each other.

"I swear, my gaydar is exploding." She whispered.

I laughed, "Peggy, we're mostly gay."

"I know. But..." She stared at Eliza, who dreamily stared at Sally.

"Wha..." I grinned evilly.

"My sister's gay!" She squealed.

I may remind you, that we were all whispering, so there's nothing to worry about.

"And then Jefferson comes along-" I know focused on Sally's voice, who was saying that, but was quickly interrupted by Alex.

"Jeffershit!?"

"Yeah..." She nodded slowly. "We used to be best friends, with John."

"You and Jefferson?!" He asked as my friends stared at me for answers.

"Yeah..." I nervously chuckled. "But that was at elementary! He changed to what he is now. Then I moved to New York, and found out he moved to the same high school as me. Then you guys showed up and...yeah."

Alex sighed, "Alright."

"Talk to me later." I whispered to Sally. "It's about Jefferson..." I earned a nod from her.

-time skip brought to you by mac n cheese-

Maybe an hour later of introduction and telling our story, and Eliza staring at Sally who was oblivious about us staring at her, we went to our separate ways.

Turns out, Sally just moved to New York and will be having a scholarship to King's College at our sophomore year.

"Hey, Herc, I'll be with Sally and catch up with her, alright?" I said, earning a nod from my roommate.

So Sally and I walked along the bustling streets of New York, leading to the small cafe that Thomas worked in.

"So...what about Jefferson." She grumbled, still hating the fact that he left us.

"It's all...not genuine."

"What do you mean?" She suddenly had interest to this topic.

"All of it. The hideous names, everything bad, all fake. Never genuine." I told her.

"H-How - are y-you sure?" She cried.

"He was my best friend, Sally. I could tell if they're lying or not." I sighed. "No offense."

She laughed, "None taken. So where are we headed?"

"Oh...him."

"What?!" She shrieked.

"Just hear him out." I begged.

"Fine..." She sighed. "Those were unforgettable, though." She scratched her arm.

"Definitely."

"So, Jefferson's still like that?" She asked.

"Sorta. He doesn't hurt me physically. Verbally most times. But it's usually with Alex." I softly chuckled at the thought of a little Alex fighting Thomas.

"Is there a reason he did those?" She mumbled.

"Yeah..."

So, I told her the whole story. Every. Single. Detail.

"At least you found 'em." She smiled.

"I'm grateful for my friends, they always had my back."

"I'm still surprised at the thought of Thomas being gay." She laughed.

"Yes. For the past...decade."

We finally arrived at the cafe, to see Thomas behind the counter. His eyes widened to see us.

"Sal! I-"

"Don't 'Sal' me!" She grumbled, pretending to look hurt.

"I-"

"I'm kidding, Thomas! John, here, told me everything." She laughed before embracing him in a hug.

"So...you understand?"

"Yes, you doofus." She smiled. "Now, are you still gay for John here because if so, we have to close down the bestie circle." She joked.

"Nah. But..."

"BUT???" I squealed.

"Madi-" Before he could even finish that, I attacked him with screams.

"JEFFMADS!"

"What the heck."

We all laughed like the old buds we used to be.

Forgiveness...

Can you imagine?
